Chapter 1837: The Way of Nature
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
“Please forgive this tired explorer. My hands are stained with the fresh blood of Naga, because I was chased by a group of them. If the Naga are also your enemies, please give me some food and fresh water,” Lu Li asked in a calm and sincere manner.
Lu Li was taken into the ruins very quickly.
This place was clean compared to the ruins that Lu Li had seen before. The majority of them were Lost Ones. Their outer appearances looked a little like the Draenei, but not to the extent where people would mistake them for Draenei.
Many people wandered by the abandoned stone pillars, their eyes were distracted and dazed. Compared to the wild Lost Ones, they were less crazy and destructive.
When Lu LI walked past them, they didn’t even humour him a glance. These Lost Ones didn’t have any fighting power. The rumour that they had been worshipping the beast spirits and had started to learn Druid magic was far from the truth.
“Foreigner, am I discriminating my own race?” a voice boomed.
Lu Li raised his head abruptly and followed the direction of the voice. He saw a crow on the ruins, but the crow didn’t see Lu Li and instead combed its feathers with its mouth. But Lu Li knew it was the one who spoke.
He transformed into a crow multiple times and had observed the detailed shape of transformed crows in this game. So, he very easily could find the difference between a real and fake crow.
“Pease forgive my offense,” Lu Li saluted the crow.
The crow shook its feathers and stretched out its wings. Under the light, it transformed into a Lost One. Compared with the other Lost Ones, this person had a pair of very bright eyes.

“Don’t mind these things Young One. I am Ikuti. From your eyes, you don’t seem surprised to see me. Have you seen other transformation magic like this before?” Ikuti asked curiously.
“Yes, I have witnessed a great being’s existence. He was enlightened with crow transformation magic. He also turned the feathers of the Raven Lord into a cloak,” Lu Li explained.
“I see…” Ikuti thought about it in detail. From the people he knew, there weren’t many people who could pull out the Raven Lord’s feathers and make a cloak out of it. Plus, that person also understood the magic of crow transformation.
“He had also passed on this magic,” Lu Li paused and turned into a dark red blood duck.
It was even cooler than Ikuti’s in comparison!
Ikuti stared at Lu Li dumbly. Just as Lu Li thought he was going to acknowledge their relationship, he let out a long sigh and said, “If this is it, then I feel a lot better. Your transformation magic is only similar in shape, but it is mainly magic.”
“I don’t understand,” Lu Li admitted wholeheartedly.
This meant that Ikuti did have things up his sleeve. Otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten the recognition of a God-item.
“The meaning is simple. After transforming, you are still you. While I… become an actual real crow. This is the Druid way. We pray to the beast spirits and are then acknowledged to become a wild beast with battle capabilities. You probably can’t use magic after you transform right?” Ikuti questioned.
“Yes,” Lu Li nodded.
Ikuti transformed again into a crow and whooshed towards the sky. As his wings flapped, a strike of lightning struck the ground. A few rocks were hit and turned to dust straight away.
Lu Li’s original plan of stealing the item was immediately thrown out the window.

He was definitely as strong as a Boss! Ruling Sword also needed to pay a massive price. Even if Ikuti was defeated, the God item wouldn’t necessarily be dropped. Lu Li didn’t believe that the latest patch would allow a Boss to drop a God item at such an early stage.
“This is my crow. The beast spirits bestowed me with this natural power. My power came from the way of nature,” Ikuti said after he landed.
“I… actually quite admire the nature’s way. I often indulge in the power of the nature’s way and feel only nature is the one supreme power,” Lu Li shared shamelessly, “Master Ikuti, may I ask to follow you?”
“You…” Ikuti was shocked and shook his head, “I can see that you a strong Rogue.”
“But this doesn’t hinder me from pursuing the nature’s way. Why can’t I learn it?” Lu Li decided to show his ultimate God item – he reached out his hand. No matter how awesome the NPC, they would all fall on their knees when they see the ring.
Unfortunately, Ikuti ignored the ring on his hands.
Lu Li pulled his hands back awkwardly. He just remembered that even though the nature’s way was a subbranch of Druids, Azeroth and Draenor were two completely different systems. Ikuti had never even heard of Cenarius.
“Even though I am a Thief, I can use Druid techniques. See,” Lu Li turned into a small leopard and a bear and used a few skills.
“This is a God item. A real God item,” Ikuti proudly declared.
This Raven Lord statue had epic power. But no matter how epic, it still couldn’t equip a Thief with Druid powers. To be directly bestowed was different from practicing. in his eyes, Lu Li was evidently not someone who could practice the Druid way.
The Raven Lord’s statue’s function was simple – it increased the intelligence and spirit attributes. This was the main solution in resolving the Lost and Broken Ones’ problem. Then, it also improved Druid magic levels. From the NPC’s perspective, this God item could bestow wisdom to people and enlighten the ignorant to discover the true meaning of nature.
All in all, it was a good thing.
Lu Li’s item was also really powerful. Some might say it wasn’t any less powerful than Raven Lord’s statue. However, it was still incomplete and had a lot of room for growth.
“My friend, thank you for talking with me. You should be happy to know that this thing has already recognised you as the owner. Otherwise, it could have been hard for me to let go of it,” Ikuti said in the end.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
