The Great Thief Chapter 1563 – Ych’Kinya
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
This little village rarely had any outsiders visit. Players were very enthusiastic about the Southshore Sea Pirates, especially since these pirates dropped a lot of money. Many people often came here to try and trigger some quests, but the majority of them returned home with disappointment. Moreover, the supplies sold in this small village were very expensive, so naturally, people stopped visiting here overtime.
As such, the players didn’t realise that the Instance Dungeon started here.
This quest had a key NPC called Yeh’Kinya. He was like a majority of Trolls who looked gentle yet cold. However, when Hachi Chan stood in front of him, he felt destined that it was the right opportunity he had been waiting for.
It was so infuriating in comparison. Lu Li had already walked back and forth near him many times, yet he didn’t even spare so much as a fart. Lu Li thought that he was better than Hachi Chan in at least some aspects.
Truthfully, it was a little hard to tell. Hachi Chan’s equipment wasn’t bad at all and she didn’t lack any of the titles that Lu Li had earned from First Clear Instance Dungeons. At least from face value, it was hard to tell who was stronger. At a time like this, charisma played a bigger role.
“Oh yes I’m a bit thirsty,” Hachi Chan said as she licked her lips, replying appropriately to the situation.
In fact, she carried all sorts of waters, juices and other drinks in her backpack. Once she heard that they were going to the desert of Tanaris, she was even more fully prepared.
However, since the NPC wanted to provide them water, it was naturally disrespectful to decline.
Tanaris was a desert so very little rain fell here. Apparently, there had been no rain for many years, so the fresh water here was very precious.

People who lived here had different ways of collecting water. Wasteland robbers relied on stealing, while Sandhammer Ogres and Sandfury Trolls controlled the few natural wells that existed. Southshore Sea Pirates relied on plundering or sailing to the coast to replenish their water. If they couldn’t find water, Hot Sand Harbour would occasionally have two supply boats come by. Hot Sand Harbour also had some machines to desalinate seawater, but they only worked occasionally.
You could see that the fresh water served to Hachi Chan was good enough that it shouldn’t be an issue.
Thanks to Hachi Chan, Lu Li also received a water bag that wasn’t even filled up to a third, which was in stark contrast to her fully filled one.
Unfortunately, players couldn’t transport water over here to trade. Otherwise, this would be a great business idea to make money.
“This area of desert is poor and dangerous. Why have you come here?” Yeh’Kinya asked as he kindly looked at both of them drink water – mainly towards Hachi Chan.
“The Southshore Sea Pirates have been very active recently. They have attacked many merchant ships of Stormwind City. We have received a quest with a reward to fight them for nothing, so we came here to replenish some supplies,” Lu Li replied naturally.
Yeh’Kinya coldly looked over him and said nothing. Only when Hachi Chan nodded her head in agreement with Lu Li did he continue the conversation.
Lu Li really wanted to punch someone. He knew that the mission was not easy to trigger, and Yeh’Kinya was an incredibly cautious person, but he didn’t think it would be as difficult as it was now.
“It’s amazing to be able to fight pirates at such a young age. Unfortunately, I’m just an archaeologist. Otherwise, I could go and fight pirates too,” Yeh’Kinya sighed emotionally.
“Archaeology! That’s pretty amazing!” Hachi Chan exclaimed with earnest admiration.

He seemed rather happy to have received Hachi Chan’s admiration. Yeh’Kinya talked endlessly with Hachi Chan about archaeology for more than half an hour. Where did the two of them even come up with so much to talk about? In the end, Yeh’Kinya gave Hachi Chan a quest that promised good rewards after completion, and also as a form of thanks for an unlikely friendship.
Yeh’Kinya said, “This quest is regarding a God. You can take this magic wand to the mountains of Feralas and search for Screechers’ soul. They are relatives of an old God. Their souls are connected with this God. Kill those Screechers in the mountains and use my magic wand on their corpses. This will make their real souls appear. After this, you can collect the essence of these souls. Children, give me the essence of these souls and then I will tell you the details about the God that I just mentioned.”
“Okay, I will definitely complete your quest Mr. Yeh’Kinya,” Hachi Chan promised in all sincerity and seriousness.
She did indeed have confidence. Anyone would as they stood next to a large Thief whose fighting abilities were unparalleled. Plus, this Thief liked to call on people when he couldn’t defeat someone.
Ferala was an area of wilderness ridges, filled with creatures that would swallow you as soon as they laid eyes on you. It was not easy to find monsters on this land, but fortunately, there were player forums. A little manual search could help them find the exact coordinates of the mountain Screechers.
Both of them could fly which made it even easier.
First, they had to kill off the monsters, then cast Yeh’Kinya’s magic wand on their corpses.
“Feels a bit wicked. Does this count as desecration of corpses?”
Hachi Chan didn’t seem to like the idea of this. She held the magic wand towards the corpse as her head tilted sideways and closed her eyes to cast a spell.
“It’s just a game. In reality, you would never do this. If you do count it as desecration of a corpse then you’re nowhere near it compared to Dreamy. Quickly get their souls out,” Lu Li urged. Thieves didn’t have magic so it would be hard to use the magic wand. Hachi Chan was better suited for this.
Translucent wisps emanated from the monster’s body, and quickly condensed into a piece of Soul Essence.
Yeh’Kinya needed three pieces of this type of Soul Essence. It wasn’t too hard to collect. The time spent on the mission itself was less than the time spent on the road here.
“Yep, this is the thing.”
Yeh’Kinya was very satisfied with Hachi Chan and Lu Li’ completed quest.
Green energy permeated the Soul Essence, which rang out in response. This was probably its way of communicating.
“What did you hear?” Hachi Chan asked curiously once Yeh’Kinya stopped his magic casting.
“I think I heard some details regarding Hakkar,” Yeh’Kinya said with a sad expression. “Hakkar represents death and evil. Even though the Trolls used to worship it out of fear, but I personally do not wish for this god to return to Azeroth. Children, could you please help me with one more thing?”
“Of course,” Hachi Chan nodded without hesitation.
“In order to stop Hakkar befalling, we must first obtain Hakkar’s soul essence,” Yeh’Kinya solemnly said. “I remember Mosalu’s prophecy spoke about how to get Hakkar’s soul essence. The method has been written on two pieces of stone slabs and was taken to the west of Gadgetzan, which has a Troll city called Zul’Farrak…”
“No worries, we’ll definitely bring it to you in no time.”
Hachi Chan was filled with excitement as soon as she heard they were going to save Azeroth.

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.
