The Great Thief Chapter 878 – Killing Each Other Out Of Love
Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations
After Magistrate Barthilas killed Wandering, he immediately turned to Lu Li to make his next attack.
“You guys stop fighting! Hachi, save him!”
Lu Li knew that he couldn’t die now. Although Wandering was dead, they still had Hachi Chan’s Resurrect. He needed to buy as much time as he could.
He used the ring to block the first attack that hit him, before activating his shoes’ effect.
Wirt’s Fake Leg: Instant Cast, bounce forwards or backwards 8 yards. 120 second cooldown!
Then, when the Boss was about to catch up to him again, he used the third special effect of his Epic dagger to escape.
Blink to a specified position within 15 yards and line of sight, 3-minute cooldown!
After travelling 23 yards, in addition to the bonus speed from running, he managed to delay the Boss by a second.
Lu Li saw that Barthilas was approaching again and Wandering still hadn’t been revived yet, so he grit his teeth and used the Book of Ur. He didn’t use the effect that transformed him into a Worgen. That would make him faster, but nothing could outrun the Boss in this state.
Instead, he chose the second effect.
Silly Husky hadn’t been summoned for quite some time and was quite excited.
“Haha, I’m back. Thank you, oh great Lord Thief. Wait, what do you want me to do? Oh no!”
Unfortunately, what awaited him wasn’t a clear open field, but the firing range of Magistrate Barthilas’ attacks.
His grief was unimaginable. He knew with one look that this ghoul was particularly strong – otherwise, his owner wouldn’t have summoned him.
Silly Husky’s guess was correct – he had been called to be fodder.
Magistrate Barthilas stopped and smashed him with an attack; Silly Husky disappeared as quickly as he had appeared. The precious time of being summoned had been abruptly cut short with a single attack.

“Lu Li, that was cruel!”
After dealing with the wolf, Magistrate Barthilas didn’t delay for a single moment and was soon right in front of Lu Li.
Just when Lu Li cast his damage reduction skills on his Breastplate and waited for his death, Wandering
stood in front of him, wielding his hammer and his shield. In that moment, the Holy Light seemed to be shining from him.
Lu Li didn’t have to die.
Wandering successfully took over the aggro of the Boss, and Magistrate Barthilas’ double berserk ended at around the same time.
The first Berserk had a longer duration, but was about to end before Magistrate Barthilas cast Furious Anger.
The double Berserk had almost wiped out Lu Li’s group.
Lu Li had stalled long enough for Wandering to be rescued. Now, the first Berserk had expired and Magistrate Barthilas was only buffed by Furious Anger.
As such, Wandering was able to resist his attacks.
Even so, March Rain’s continuous healing and Hachi Chan’s Strengthened Tranquility was required before they finally reached the end.
The System prompted Hachi Chan that she had acquired a Skill Point.
There was also a wealth of EXP distributed – after all, this was a powerful level 50 Boss. Lu Li was at level 47 with 20% EXP remaining and managed to level up.
The others also hadn’t seen their EXP bar move like this is a long time. Even Remnant Dream, who was very tired at the time, was filled with energy.
The process of obtaining this First Clear had been so difficult. Lu Li and the others hadn’t taken any breaks, and had been going on like this for half a day. Even a tenacious man like Lu Li was completely worn out, not to mention these teenage girls.
Yet, they didn’t complain about how tired they were and pushed on until the very end.

“Dreamy, are you okay? Do you want to loot the Boss?’ Lu Li asked, then found a place to sit down and rest before saying, “You guys should take a break. You can go offline and get something to eat. We’ll continue in half an hour.”
“I don’t need to eat, but I need to sit down for a bit,” Azure Sea Breeze sighed as he removed a few pieces of his heavy armor and leaned them against the Boss’ corpse.
The others did the same, each looking for a place to sit down without a care for the harsh Stratholme environment.
“I don’t feel tired when it comes to looting,” Remnant Dream said to Lu Li before kneeling down before the Boss.
Her first attempt yielded a hat.
After seeing its shape, Lu Li almost cried out – it was the Crimson Felt Hat.
The Crimson Felt Hat was known as one of the best level 50 hats, and was comparable to an average Epic Magic hat. Its drop rate was said to be one in ten thousand.
Either this girl truly was really lucky, or the First Clear on Nightmare Difficulty had increased drop rates a hundredfold.
By now, most other major guilds were sending their core teams to do Instance Dungeons at Nightmare Difficulty. They would usually only send one or two of the weaker teams to compete for the First Clear on the Elite Difficulty.
The Crimson Felt Hat’s effect was mainly to reduce the cooldown of Blink, making it the most important escape skill for the Mage. Naturally, this played an important role in both PVE and PVP. The second effect increased spell damage, which buffed all Magic skills. As for the third effect, it was a shield that absorbed some damage taken and converted it into HP and mana.
When the hat was dropped, Sesame Rice Ball and Lonesome Flower, who always had a good relationship, were both eyeing each other.
“Big bro, the hat you have is already so strong…” Sesame Rice Ball said boldly. He was trying to say that Lonesome Flower’s equipment was good enough, and that he should give it up.
“Oh, now you’re calling me big bro. You weren’t so nice when you were fighting me for the Gold gloves,” Lonesome Flower sneered.
“How about I give you the Dark Gold gloves?’ Sesame Rice Ball was willing to adapt.
“But it’s not even that rare…”
Sesame Rice Ball had spent a lot of points for the Dark Gold gloves, so Lonesome Flower wasn’t intimidated by him.
“Dammit. Fine, you win,” Sesame Rice Ball conceded, regretting his earlier decision.
He really shouldn’t have spent so much trying to get the gloves. He should have known that the equipment dropped later would only get better, like this hat. The Dark Gold gloves were good, but nothing compared to this.
The second item was Magistrate Barthilas’ Wristband.
This was a Gold grade bracer that could be used by Thieves or Druids. It was worse than Lu Li’s Stab Scar Bracer, but still worth equipping.
The only problem was that it had a level 50 requirement, so Lu Li was going to put it in the Guild Warehouse. It didn’t require many points, but the main idea was that they had to be level 50. This would motivate the Thieves in the guild to level as quickly as they could.
