The Great Thief Chapter 754: King of Soldiers
The recruit system was still far away, but it did no harm to establish some good relationships. If the relationship they built was good enough, the NPC might even come and join themselves without being asked.
Lu Li had already planned on who he wanted to recruit, but if he could recruit Keeshan, he wouldn't mind either.
These sad heroes were suitable to his taste.
"I heard he was fighting for the underground fight club, located in an inn below the Lakeshire. Find him, and tell him all that you know," Colonel Troteman said as he shook his head and sighed before leaving.
This was one of the greatest dangers that Lakeshire had faced, but he could do nothing about it.
Were the civilians of Lakeshire going to pay the price for their stupidity and foolishness?
"There's an underground fight club below the inn? Sounds high class," Water Fairy commented as she followed behind Lu Li.
"There are players who go there to fight too, but most of them can't beat the NPCs. After all, being AIs, they rarely made mistakes," Lu Li explained. He had participated in underground fighting in his previous life.
All the underground matches that players could participate in were fixed.
This meant that they had the same Attributes as the NPCs and fought until the other one couldn't stand.
It was rare for players to win in these kind of matches, similar to trying to beat a computer in chess.
"Can I give it a try?" Water Fairy was tempted.
"Best not to. Only woman with a flat chest would box," Lu Li said as he opened the small door beside the inn and entered.
There was a long staircase that spiraled downwards. Water Fairy followed behind Lu Li and held back the urge to kick him down the stairs, but after thinking about it, she realized that Lu Li had complimented her unintentionally.

The underground room was gigantic; it was a vast entertainment area.
There were dance floors, bars and a ring for boxing. What left Lu Li even more speechless was that this wasn't a safe zone – players could be killed here.
The town was in danger with the Murlocs, Tauren and Gnolls invading, but many of the civilians were still here wasting their lives away.
Water Fairy was curious about everything.
She was a good girl who had never been exposed to these things.
Although they were wearing masks, Water Fairy's figure still attracted a lot of attention. Her eyes were also very pretty, beautiful enough for people to want to take off her mask and see what was underneath.
A drunk man, or perhaps a player who was pretending to be drunk, walked over clumsily. His target was Water Fairy.
Just as a crowd began to gather, Lu Li activated the special effect on his shoes and flashed behind him. He hacked away carelessly, until the drunkard barely had health remaining.
His dagger lightly rested on the quivering player's throat.
"We're not allowed to PK here; are you looking for trouble?"
The owner of this establishment was definitely a rich, strong person, and PK would influence his business. Anyone who killed someone else here would be viewed as challenging him.
At first, Lu Li felt a little scared, but after he thought about it, he felt more confident about the situation.
"You should've begged for mercy," Lu Li's coldly said as he swiped gently across the player's throat. Blood spilled to the as the player's health bar cleared and he dropped to the floor.
Even without five combo points, Lu Li's Slit Throat skill was powerful enough to kill these kind of noobs who drank their time away.
The audience began to get excited, as if they had already seen the bouncers kicking Lu Li out.

However, to their surprise, the bouncers didn't come for Lu Li. They acted like they saw nothing, even ignoring the body on the floor that hadn't yet refreshed.
"Let's go. Don't take my prey next time," Water Fairy said as she packed away her daggers.
Lu Li ignored all the eyes that were about to drop to the floor and took Water Fairy to the boxing area.
He could kill people here because this was an underground area. Underground areas usually didn't have strict rules. As long as you were strong enough, you could do whatever you wanted. NPCs could see a player's reputation, and Lu Li was the type of player they didn't want to cross. At the same time, he was on a quest with Water Fairy, which had been given to them by Magistrate Soloman. There was no way that the NPCs would cause trouble for them.
There was an ongoing match in the ring, and one of the contestants was Keeshan.
How could they tell?
It was simple – the audience was even more excited than the boxers and constantly shouted their names.
"Get down Keeshan!"
"Weakling! Keeshan, go die!"
"Scum!"
"Why do they hate Keenshan so much?" Water Fairy asked as he watched in confusion at the hero who should have been praised.
This was a king of all soldiers who had completed 248 quests. Yet, he was being watched like a monkey by a crowd of people and beaten around on the match ground by his opponent.
"You're a warrior!" Lu Li shouted as he grabbed the rope on the edge of the ring.
Keeshan seemed to turn his head to Lu Li for a second, then roared and knocked his opponent out in one punch. It wasn't hard to see from this that he wasn't on the same level as his opponent.
His punch was perfect; the angle and strength behind it were incredibly precise. However, no one cheered. Even the players were influenced as they cursed at something they knew nothing about.
"We need your help," Lu Li said as Keeshan jumped off the stage and walked out without turning back. Lu Li was following closely behind him.
"I already have money for today's food. Come and find me again tomorrow," Keeshan responded as he tossed the gold coin in his hands. He didn't have the slightest bit of interest in what Lu Li had to say. He wasn't struggling to beat his opponent, rather, he had to pretend that they were of even strength. Otherwise, no one would fight him tomorrow.
Lu Li's sentence had sparked some passion in him, or else he wouldn't have been bothered with this adventurer.
"Lakeshire is coming to its doom," Lu Li persisted.
"That is good news. We should celebrate," Keeshan said as he sat beside the bar and tossed two gold coins at the bartender. "Did you hear? Lakeshire is done. Give this brother one too."
The bartender looked annoyed, but still passed two cups of low-quality alcohol in front of him.
"Murlocs are attacking the town from the Northwest. Colonel Troteman took his men to resist against the enemy," Lu Li said. He didn't mind the quality of the alcohol and took a sip from it.
"Colonel Troteman is a strong man," Keeshan nodded as he took up his cup and toasted Lu Li, then calmly said, "Those ignorant Murlocs are no match for him, so you don't need to worry."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
