The Great Thief Chapter 699: From Death to Life

There was a theory in the early days that the players and the game company were natural enemies.

One group would spend their time trying to take advantage of loopholes while the other was desperately trying to block them. If there were too many loopholes, their relationship would collapse and the business would fall apart.

Her first attack resulted in a two second stun, with the following two attacks completely draining Deep Watersong's HP. After killing Deep Watersong, she rushed towards her next target.

He had been to Maraudon in his previous life, but that was only at Hero Difficulty. The dungeon had been severely nerfed by the game company. While the Princess had gone berserk them, she wasn't this strong.

She had managed to kill the tankiest Druid Main Tank with three hits. There was no way anyone else could survive that barrage.

However, Lu Li wasn't easily scared and looked at the direction that the Boss was travelling. It was heading right at the silly little Druid.

"Hachi, Shadowmeld!" he shouted.

The healer needed to be kept alive, but at this point of the fight, her role was minimal anyway.

"Oh!" Hachi Chan cried out in response.

Using Shadowmeld was quite easy – all you had to do was cast it and stand still.

Normally, Shadowmeld couldn't be used to escape a Boss' detection. Otherwise, everyone would use this trick to escape death when fighting a Boss. However, in this case, the Boss was in berserk, which meant it had lower detection. Hachi Chan's jumble of equipment would also help in concealing her and there was still some distance between her and the Boss. If she managed to vanish before the Boss, it would try to find another target.

This new target was Lu Li.

However, Lu Li couldn't run away. If he ran away, then who would be left to fight the Boss? All the melee players needed to be close to hit it.

"Hachi, Ressurect Watersong. Everyone else, damage the Boss. Don't hold back; fight with everything you've got," Lu Li said, his instructions unusually descriptive.

Cain's Left Hand smiled as he casted a movement speed skill before appearing behind the Boss and unleashing his abilities.

Water Fairy spat on the ground before buffing herself and attacking as well. Following Lu Li's lead, the three damage players attacked with all they had. It didn't matter whether they lived or not, as long as the Boss died before they got wiped.

There were two things that could happen that made fighting a Boss more difficult. The first was whether the Boss had gone Berserk and the second was whether the Boss would cast an ultimate skill just before it died.

This was the perfect situation to showcase the survivability of Thieves.

Although none of them were Warriors, they all had ways to keep themselves alive. Lu Li managed to stall for seven seconds while Cain's Left Hand lasted for five. By the time only Water Fairy left, Hachi Chan had already Resurrected Deep Watersong and fully healed him.

As long as he wasn't hit with a skill, he could take two to three hits, even if the Boss was in Berserk.

Hachi Chan, Deep Watersong, and Water Fairy were all stubbornly fighting the Boss while Lu Li and Cain's Left Hand lay dead on the ground.

Lu Li didn't revive himself; the opportunity was not right.

After going berserk, the Boss would use an ultimate skill which he remembered very clearly.

Repulsive Gaze!

In a last ditch attempt, Princess Theradras casted her area of effect fear skill and went into a petrified state, absorbing the Earth Elements around her to form a shield.

However, when Repulsive Gaze was casted, Lu Li decisively used his Darkmoon Card

Darkmoon Card: Void (Special): Instant Use. Has a 50% chance of Revive. Upon a successful Revive, HP and Mana regen increased by 20%, EXP gain increased by -5% – 10%. Number of uses remaining: 4/5. Effective when item is placed in backpack. Equipment requirement: Level 10.

He had used it once before in the Stranglethorn Vale Warm, so currently had four more uses.

If he didn't Revive, the remaining three players would have no chance of killing Princess Theradras. After all, the Boss was now steadily regenerating its HP and Water Fairy was the only damage player left.

After using the card, Lu Li stood up.

The Revive was a success!

However, Lu Li didn't have time to celebrate. He rushed towards the Boss while glancing at his EXP bar. It had dropped by 3%.

This was an Instance Dungeon and you weren't supposed to lose EXP if you died. Moreover, the 3% that he lost was quite hard to come by. He would need another an hour to gain it back.

When Lu Li rushed back, he immediately destroyed the Boss' shield.

The shield needed to be destroyed first, otherwise, her high Defense and Attack would make her unbeatable.

Lu Li stopped attacking the Boss after he destroyed the shield and started channeling Cain's Left Hand's Revival.

The team that had originally lost half of its members had now been restored.

If Princess Theradras was more intelligent, she wouldn't want to fight them anyway. She had worked so hard to kill a few of them, but they just kept coming back.

They had about three seconds left to damage Princess Theradras, but she didn't have much HP left.

Even so, for as long as she kept regenerating, the crisis was not over yet. As long as the Boss was still breathing, there was still a good chance that they could get wiped.

In the face of Princess Theradras' onslaught, Lu Li didn't hesitate to use Gale Steps, which managed to buy two more seconds for his team.

Deep Watersong managed to take the aggro again and died once more.
