The Great Thief Chapter 698: Skill Blocking

Deepwater Song's active gave them the boost that they needed; it lasted for 15 seconds.

Azure Sea Breeze was renowned as the number one Main Tank in the server, but even he didn't have such an overpowered active in his arsenal. Lu Li estimated that the equip was at least Legendary Dark Gold grade.

It was hard not to be envious.

He was currently wearing a Legendary equip and had another in his inventory that was too highly-levelled to be equipped yet. Both of these Legendary pieces had taken blood, sweat and many tears to obtain. If he wasn't because of his rebirth, he might not have even had the opportunity to obtain them.

It wasn't because he didn't put in as much effort into the game in his past life – he was just extremely unlucky.

Monsters would never drop good loot, other players would often harass him and he always received the worst rewards from quests. Nothing he did in his past life went his way.

If it wasn't for his love of the lore and the captivating gameplay, he would have quit a long time ago.

"How long is the cooldown?" Lu Li asked.

"Thirty-five minutes, so it probably won't be used again in this fight. I have other defensive skills that are similar but, they only last for two seconds," Deepwater Song revealed.

"That's good then. What about you guys? There are no shortcuts to defeating thisBboss and it will continue to randomly switch aggro. Do the best that you can to stay alive," Lu Li said.

Princess Theradras interrupted their conversation and sent them flying again.

On the gaming forum, this skill was known as Dust Field and was described as, "Shake the ground nearby damaging and knocking back nearby enemies."

The players would often refer to this skill as Fart because of the animation.

There no way of countering this skill in midair. All Lu Li could do was take the hit as he flew back several meters and landed hard on the ground. As soon as he landed, he immediately activated his Badge to cleanse the Stun, then charged towards the Boss. He was hoping that the Boss would attack him!

He needed to prevent the Boss from attacking Hachi Chan, Deepwater Song or Cain's Left Hand, because losing any of them would greatly increase the risk of them being wiped.

After casting Dust Field, Theradras used another very annoying skill.

In order to deal with Lu Li, she used her fists to send Lu Li flying again. Lu Li rolled along the ground like a ragdoll, then stood up, unharmed. Surprisingly, he did not lose a single point of HP.

"What skill is that?" Water Fairy asked.

It wasn't Gale Steps because it didn't have same animation and he wouldn't have been knocked away because of the invulnerability.

"Equipment active. Why are you asking so many questions?"

Lu Li was cautious about revealing his secrets because they might face off against each other in the Tournament League at the end of the year.

"You… you're so petty!" Water Fairy exclaimed in anger.

However, there was nothing that she could do about this. Girls were always more emotionally attached than guys. Through all the time they had spent with one another, Water Fairy had begun to let down her guard with Lu Li. On the other hand, this was not the case for Lu Li.

"Who cares about your stupid equipment active? Whatever, I won't waste time asking you how much you want to sell it for," she internally ranted.

In reality, even if Lu Li wanted to, he couldn't sell it to her as it was one of the four actives on his Supreme Ring. King of the Jungle's Protection: Instant Cast. Summon a natural shield that absorbs all damage in one attack for the caster. 1 Hour Cooldown.

The shield had absorbed all of the damage which was why Lu Li was unharmed.

The Stun duration on Deepwater Song ran out and he immediately regained aggro. For now, the danger had passed.

The Boss' HP was currently at a bit less than 50%, but three players had already used their trump cards to save their lives. No one knew if they could defeat the Princess or not.

"Nightmare mode is too hard," Deepwater Song sighed.

"But we've always attempted Nightmare mode. If we decrease the difficulty, it would be too easy," Hachi Chan said bluntly.

"Psh…" Deepwater Song was visibly annoyed and sarcastically replied, "You guys are so cocky; stop showing off. You don't understand how us commoners feel."

It was true that not everyone attempted Nightmare mode. If they had lowered the difficulty to Elite, they would have finished the dungeon a long time ago.

"Stop wasting time. Everyone, be careful – the Boss is about to roar again," Lu Li interrupted them in a deep voice. He was mad that the two Druids would argue in such a dire situation.

"Who will interrupt the Boss this time?" Water Fairy asked.

"Cain," Lu Li answered without hesitation. Since Cain had already used his Gale Steps, he wasn't as valuable anymore. Lu Li also didn't want to risk losing Water Fairy's DPS.

Cain's Left Hand activated his Shadow Cloak before the Princess roared.

Shadow Cloak's effect didn't cleanse the Fear, but it was similar to Lu Li's Icy Veins effect on his Mask. As long as it was activated and the user had a buff on them prior to the crowd-control, they could avoid being feared.

Following Lu Li's example from before, Cain's Left Hand interrupted the Earth Elemental Princess with Kick.

Lu Li and the others turned around and began dealing damage again, taking off a large chunk of her HP bar. For a team attempting the dungeon for the first time, this was basically a miracle.

This Boss was very difficult, especially for a newcomer, because they had to predict what skills she would use.

Dust Field!

Everyone was sent flying again and Deepwater Song cried out in mid-air, "Why do you always do this to us? I hate you Princess; I hate all Princesses. It's not very lady-like to fart."

"Water Fairy!" Lu Li yelled.

Lu Li called out for Water Fairy because she had saved most of her skills up until this point. She was also the closest to the Boss and had the highest chance of saving Hachi Chan.

Without hesitation, Water Fairy stood before Hachi Chan. In Lu Li's past life, someone wondered whether it was possible to form a team of Thieves with Gale Steps so that they could each take turn to block the Boss' skills.

And so, someone actually attempted it and recruited a team of Thieves with Gale Steps.

The results were completely unexpected. Instead of entering Berserk mode, the level 45 Boss mutated and transformed into a level 55 Boss. The whole team was wiped and no one managed to make it out alive.

Lu Li was worried that Princess Theradras would also transform.
