The Great Thief Chapter 697: Deepwater Song’s Trump Card

"Poof!"

Suddenly, there was weird, yet familiar noise, but no one could remember where they had heard it from.

Then, everyone was sent flying high into the air, including the Main Tank, Healer and the Three Thieves who were busy attacking the Boss.

Besides the pain from the landing, they were also Stunned in place.

Princess Theradras de-aggroed from Deepwater Song and jumped onto the nearest target.

"Gale Steps!" Lu Li shouted.

Cain's Left Hand thought that Gale Step would be a waste of a cooldown in this situation, but he still followed Lu Li's instructions and casted it. Princess Theradras' huge palms slammed onto the ground beneath him, but they did not deal any damage at all.

Gale Steps was a skill that gave the caster both Stealth and Invulnerability. This stalled enough time for the Stun on Lu Li and others to wear out.

Cain's Left Hand quickly charged towards the Boss to reestablish aggro. It wasn't his fault that the Boss had randomly switched targets before.

There were walls in Princess Theradras' underground palace, but since she was protecting the corpse of her deceased lover, she refused to be lured by the players. As such, there was no other way that they could prevent this skill that sent them flying away.

"We'll just have to kill her the normal way," Lu Li said.

There were many commanders that wouldn't know what to do in this situation. Besides using Gale Steps and other invulnerability skills, it was almost impossible to avoid her attacks. Every time their teammates were sent flying, there was a very high chance of them losing a player.

Because guild members were used to taking orders from their shot caller, they were easily influenced by the state of their commander.

Private Dungeons were different from Public Dungeons. You couldn't attempt the dungeon endlessly because there was only a maximum of three attempts. Once a team failed three times, they would be forcefully removed from the dungeon.

"Why do you invade my home?"

Lu Li ignored her because Bosses did not negotiate with players, so there was no point in talking to her.

"Careful. Stand back a little," Lu Li said as he grabbed her by her collar and dragged her back. If she got too close, she would probably be Princess Theradras' next target. If that happened, she would be instantly killed for sure because she did not have invulnerability skills like Gale Step.

If the healer died, the whole team would follow.

Princess Theradras was outraged and let out a loud thundering roar which made the players scatter like flies.

Repulsive Gaze: Roar at enemy units, causing them to be Feared for 6 seconds.

Lu Li was unaffected!

He had activated the special effect on his mask at the perfect time and avoided the crowd-control.

Voodoo Mask (Exquisite Gold): Armour +42, Agility +30, Strength + 18, Socket Slot +1. Special Effect: Certain chance of discovering Stealth units regardless of level. Special Effect 2: Icy Veins. Your mind is as calm as ice. When activated, become immune to psychological crowd control such as Fear. Special Effects 3: When you critically an opponent consecutively, your third attack has a 10% chance to deal the combined damage of your previous two attacks. Requires level 40. Durability 95/95.

The Icy Veins Special effect required the user to activate it before the oncoming crowd-control. Lu Li had predicted Theradras' Repulsive Gaze and completely avoided the Fear debuff.

After using the crowd-control skill, she immediately entered an channeling state.

Although she couldn't attack, Theradras could drain the Elemental Energy from the earth, and if left uninterrupted, she would form a shield around her body, increasing her Defense dramatically.

The longer she absorbed the Earth Elemental Energy, the stronger her shield would become.

This was the reason why Lu Li had activated his special effect to avoid being Feared. Since she was very close to Theradras, he immediately kicked her.

This was no ordinary kick – it was the special Thief skill which successfully interrupted Theradras' channel.

The thin shield was instantly destroyed by Lu Li's daggers, and he took the opportunity to burst her while she was in her channeling state. Water Fairy and Cain's Left Hand also took the opportunity to unleash a barrage of attacks.

Thieves could use the Shadow Cloak active with a relatively short cooldown, so it was a no-brainer that they would use it as often as possible.

The few seconds were precious in determining the outcome of this Boss fight. Princess Theradras' HP continued to drop quickly and she wasn't able to retaliate at all. They were glad that they had brought in three Thieves to this dungeon run.

When Theradras' channel was finished, she used another new skill.

Triple Strike!

This dealt more than 380 points of damage to Deep Watersong and he was almost killed instantly. Druids were had weaker Magic Resistance which made them inferior to a Warrior Main Tank.

The melee skill Triple Strike was an Earth elemental magic skill.

Hachi Chan immediately focused all of her healing onto Deepwater Song and Lu Li began attacking furiously in an attempt to draw aggro. Since he had the Darkmoon Card, he could afford to die and use it to revive again. However, Deepwater Song had to be kept alive no matter what because there were no secondary Tanks in the party and no one else could tank the damage from Theradras.

"I can't believe she forced me to use this!" Deepwater Song shouted when he was at critical HP

A bright, green light filled his body as his HP was instantly restored and his Defense was also greatly increased.

"That skill is so overpowered! Is that a special effect from your gear?" Lu Li was surprised. He knew that this wasn't a Druid skill because he had played a Druid in his past life.

"Yeah, I randomly got it from a piece of equipment. The stats aren't great, but the special effect is very useful." Deepwater Song pretended to be humble, but in his mind, he knew that everyone was impressed with him.

In order to create a realistic world, there were many imbalanced skills and special effects in Dawn. This was just like real life, where nothing was fair and not everyone was created equal.

The game was affected by luck and randomness which made it all the more realistic.

No one could predict what could happen next. Perhaps a simple equip, a random skill, or an unexpected turn of events could completely alter your fate in the game.
