The Great Thief Chapter 623: War in Stranglethorn Vale (3)
As Lu LI flew from Misty Valley towards the Gorgrom Camp, he could see more and more players beneath him.
Everything that was unfolding in front of him amazed him. Before his very eyes, countless players gathered and surrounded the Gorgrom Camp in waves as the smoke of war drifted through the air.
There were hundreds of players fighting against each other. Countless white lights flashed and rose into the air; equipment and technique meant nothing here. With dozens of skills flying around, even celebrity players couldn't do much.
It was no wonder why Gaze and his other team members ran so far away – they were scared to get close to the epicenter of the battle.
There were also other areas that were a little messier; it was hard to tell Horde and Alliance players apart. Everyone just attacked whatever they could.
Dawn had a mode called the Faction mode, which was specifically meant for situations like this. Players wouldn't have to worry about their skills hurting the wrong players.
Another important restriction was that players couldn't run through each other. Even if you wanted thousands of players to rush in together, it would be impossible due to the limited space. Players could only extend themselves outwards from the camp, which caused the entire map to be filled with fire and smoke.
From the conversations in the area channel, Lu Li discovered that the resistance force of the Alliance had already fallen.
All of the resistance force had been slain and they would only appear again tomorrow after the refresh. This was also the cause of the war in Stranglethorn Vale.
The camp of the resistance army was quite simple – there were no inns, no portals and there weren't even any decent Boss-level NPCs around to look after the area. However, even if they were slain, it wouldn't do much harm to Alliance force – most of these players had come from Booty Bay anyway.
But that's not what the Alliance players thought – their pride had been bruised.

If they didn't fight back after their pride had been bruised, would they still be real men?
Hence, a war that involved millions of players from both factions occurred and spread itself across the entire map of Stranglethorn Vale.
There were countless small battles scattered throughout this map, with the center of the fighting being the Gorgrom Camp.
The Gorgrom Camp wasn't a small location like the resistance army camp.
There were a great number of Gorgrom Sentinel, commanders, and prophets everywhere, and they were all high-leveled.
The camp also boasted a number of Turrets, Dragons and Ships, as well as mercenaries hired from Booty Bay.
Even without the Horde players, it wouldn't be easy for a few thousand Alliance players to destroy this place.
However, the number of players involved were more than a few thousand, so the battle was full of uncertainty. If Horde players didn't help hold their fort, it would only be a matter of time before the Alliance took Gorgrom Camp.
Fortunately for the Horde, the Alliance players were at an overall disadvantage.
Stranglethorn Vale seemed to be the only area in Azeroth where the war hadn't broken out. The ancient Gurubashi civilization of the Trolls built cities for themselves to live in which the Gnomes took over later. Their cities became ashes and the Trolls split into different tribes with complex relationships.
After the third war, Thrall led the orcs and their allies, the Darkspear clan, to move to this land together.
The Darkspear clan were the group of Trolls from the Jungle Troll tribe who had given up on cannibalism.
Because of these Trolls, the Horde faction gained control of most of the Stranglethorn Vale. Alliance players had to teleport from Booty Bay first to enter the map and rush towards the battleground located at Gorgrom Camp. Horde players, on the other hand, could teleport from anywhere in the world into the Gorgrom Camp to join the battle.
Resource supply and equipment repair also became other limiting factors.
Ruling Sword stayed as a group and attacked the Gorgrom Camp from the Northeast side, managing to hold back a good number of Horde Players from joining the main fight.

Sesame Rice Ball opened a portal and Ruling Sword players were constantly sent to the frontline.
From a shallower point of view, it seemed as if this was going to damage the preserved strength of the guild. It wasn't so much about the gear – other players from the guild would pick it up.
They were fighting in the wild, so if anyone died, they would lose experience.
However, Ruling Sword had to join the war. This was a need from a deeper level.
This was an event that brought players together. Player who participated in this war would never be the same again.
In the future, if newer players asked them, these players who participated in the war could proudly respond that they had once fought alongside Square Root 3.
This response was much more glorious than saying something like, "I was a part of the guild from the beginning."
Square Root 3 couldn't get in contact with Lu Li, who was too busy leveling. As such, he had to force himself to bring the majority of the guild to step into Stranglethorn Vale. It had only been half a day and most of the players in the guild had died at least once.
It was no use for him to be sad about it; the battle had to continue. No one wanted to be known as a coward – the major guilds valued their reputation.
Every now and then, the Horde would yell, "War and glory, blood and thunder!"
"For Queen Sylvanas!"
"Embrace the darkness, HAHAHA!"
"For the Horde!"
On the other side, the Alliance responded with, "Glory for the Alliance!"
"For the King!"
Some also shouted words based on their class or race like, "Holy light above us" and "The Earth Mother guides you." Lu Li felt like he had a headache from all the ruckus that had been caused. He sped up and flew towards where his own base was located.
"I'm here." With one sentence from Lu Li, the entire guild suddenly lit up. Their morale was boosted and the Horde players on the opposing side nearly lost their line of defense.
"Where? Take over – I really can't take down this wall."
Square Root 3 was relieved and he wanted to immediately pass over his responsibility. He was stuck and didn't know what to do.
"I'm above you guys in the sky," Lu Li said as he investigated his surrounding then sighed, "I don't know what to do either; the Hordes have too much of a geographical advantage. Even if we break down their wall, how we face the players on the other end is an issue too."
"Don't worry – just force our way in. No one has taken down the wall yet," Square Root 3 said, thinking that this was of no concern at all.
He didn't really think they could do anything to the Gorgrom Camp; he just wanted their guild to perform better than the others. That would be an achievement for Ruling Sword in the war; they were actually competing against each other.
"Don't move the right side; increase the attacks from the left side. Hmm, I'll give you the coordinates," Lu Li instructed. He could see how their opponents spread their forces since he was up in the air.
In this way, they made it through the outer defense, and the pressure on the Horde players was greatly increased. One time, Ruling Sword even pushed them up against the wall.
The Horde players in the camp had good reaction and mobility. Although their turrets weren't too strong, Ruling Sword still couldn't entirely break through.
Even so, the morale of the Alliance players was greatly boosted. Even the results of the surrounding battles improved. Everyone began to focus their attention on the Northeast side, where Ruling Sword was positioned.
