“Yo, what is it?” Just as Ethan Lu dropped these words, Churu felt that her soul suddenly dwindled out from her . Right after, her core within her tightened, as if someone squeezed it tightly .

“What?!?” At the same time as Ethan Lu’s cry, Churu felt her flesh being cut open .

‘How is this possible . . . ?’ Unable to say a word, Churu could only whisper internally . She had long forgotten what physical pain felt like .

After being tortured every single day, gaining all the scars on her body that never truly healed, it already numbed Churu . Hence, she could freely move around back when she was a demon despite having fresh wounds .

But now, she was under pain . She didn’t know, but every passing second has becoming intolerable .

“I’ll be there . ” Hearing the distraught man from the other end of the line, Ethan Lu didn’t bother to ask further questions . He would find out for himself .

With that said note, Ethan Lu dialed Lyrick Jiang’s number and instructed him to ready his vehicle . Sure, Ethan Lu was still displeased — or rather, still furious about what Morris Liu did — still, he was concerned .

Ethan Lu immediately headed out of his office yet, he returned and picked up Churu’s unmoving figure . He assumed that she hasn’t moved on about the “scumbag” she was talking about . Thus, he was unaware that the reason Churu was not moving was because she was in pain .

Churu could not also say she was experiencing utter pain as she could not find the strength to speak . Therefore, she let him pick her up like a small teddy bear and then he placed her inside his pocket .

Fortunately, Ethan Lu was considerate enough to let her head out to breathe . Hence, Churu looked like a key chain, but only for Ethan Lu to see .

“What happened to him?” As soon as Ethan Lu arrived outside the emergency room, Chris Yu stopped pacing back and forth .

“They said it was cardiac arrest!” Anxious as usual, Chris Yu exasperatedly exclaimed as he run his finger through his hair .

“What?!” Shocked to hear it, Ethan Lu was rendered speechless for several seconds . “Why?!” Silly he might sound but, he couldn’t properly absorbed the information .

“I don’t know!” Upon hearing the question, Chris Yu’s stress level multiplied .

Just earlier, they were on the way to Morris Liu’s business meeting . Although he looked a little restless than usual, Chris Yu didn’t pay attention about it .

However, Morris Liu suddenly called his name as he clasped his hand on his chest . Everything escalated after that, and the last thing Chris Yu could remember was that Morris Liu was being wheeled inside the emergency room .

Just before anxiousness and stress could devour the two men, the emergency room opened . A doctor came out, heaving a sigh .

“What happened?” As soon as he saw the doctor, Chris Yu glided in front of him as inquired .

“The patient’s condition has stabilized . But we will have to monitor his condition and examine him . For now, be at ease as he’s out of danger . ” To their relief, the doctor’s news wasn’t the one that they dreaded to hear .

“Thank God . . . ” Chris Yu and Ethan Lu felt a torn was pluck out of their throat . After that, they thanked the doctor and Chris Yu arranged some important stuff for Morris Liu’s room .

On the other hand, Ethan Lu had to attend a business meeting . Hence, after he discussed matters with his friend Chris Yu, he left .

Meanwhile, Churu’s pain slowly subsided . She felt that the pain gradually reduced when they arrived at the hospital . Although her energy deteriorated, she knew deep down that she just needed to rest .

Still, before going to her slumber, she placed all the remaining energy she has to her alertness to danger . With that, she would be alerted if danger approached Ethan Lu .

“F*ck!” Dylan Lu threw his phone directly at the wall, breaking it in an instant . He just received a call from his man in-charge of the trade with Lexi and yet, Lexi was giving him a hard time .

“B*tch!” He growled as he swept off the vase on top of the table . His eyes blazed with fury with the thought of Laurel Wang and Lexi .

One woman was stupid while the other was too cunning he wanted to end her . Deep down, he knew Lexi already assumed that Laurel Wang was involved with this scheme . Hence, knowing that she has the fifty million, she was taking advantage of it .

Dylan Lu could just release the information and let the fifty million go . After all, it wasn’t his money . However, he knew very well that the chances of the scandal going out to the public had reduced to zero .

Ethan Lu must have been notified about it . Therefore, with his vast connections, the scandal would remain suppressed . Truly, Laurel Wang sabotaged his plan . He worked hard for nothing .

Just as Dylan Lu was making a fussed — like a hurricane messing his whole study room — he heard a knock from outside . “Young Master, Master Dennis is here . ” The muffled voice of the butler of the house assailed his ears, which made him knit his brows .

“Why is he here?” Displeased as he already was, Dylan Lu stared at the opening entrance which soon revealed his father .

“What do you want?” Showing lack of affection to his father, Dylan Lu frowned as calmed himself down and acted as if he wasn’t throwing a huge fit .

Dennis Lu looked around and wasn’t surprised about his son’s messy study room . Even before coming inside, he already heard him cursing, vases and brittle materials shattering, and other solid stuff falling down harshly .

“Son, we need to talk . ” Regardless, Dennis Lu ignored the sight of this room as he cleared his throat and turned his solemn gaze at him .

Although they hardly connect as father and son, Dennis Lu was concerned about Dylan Lu’s involvement to Lincoln Lu . After all, he investigated of who his son has been spending his time with .

To Dennis Lu’s surprise, he came to know that Dylan Lu had been meeting one of the most cunning man in the Lu family — Lincoln Lu . If this was correct, then he was afraid that not just him but also his son was being used as a decoy .

The most terrifying thing was, they wouldn’t even know that until all pieces pointed at them .
