When Lexi arrived at the storage room, she immediately searched where Nico Zhuang hid her products. At the corner under a pile of empty boxes, Lexi finally found what she was looking for. She picked up one of the facial washes and her grip tightened causing it to tremble.

Aside from the fact that her chance of launching her products was almost destroyed, Lexi was more irked of the fact that another hand dared to touch her creations and harm it. She treated her products as her own child, hence, one would know the rage of a mother building inside her.

At first, she wanted to try out the product to know if the problem was indeed in the product or it was just Nico Zhuang. However, with the thought of being pregnant, Lexi shrugged off the idea as it might harm her and the uncertain seed in her belly. Although Lexi hadn’t tested if she was pregnant or not, she didn’t want to know for now.

She wanted to finish this showcase and Ethan Lu’s big event before going under a pregnancy test. Nonetheless, Lexi had been more careful and refrained from pushing her limits. She had been scheduling her time for work and completely rested when she’s home— not bringing any more paperwork at home. After all, whether she was pregnant or not… or rather, whether she was ready to confirm her pregnancy or not, she wanted to take care of her body not to harm anyone; if there was a fragile human inside her.

“Don’t worry… I will surely avenge you guys in the future.” Putting down the facial wash back to the box, Lexi swore to find justice for them. She knew that there’s a slim chance for her to get back at Stella Du, however, since they are on the same line of work, there would come a day that she would be able to teach that unreasonable, dumb girl a lesson.

The rest of the day continued smoothly. Thank the heavens, after Lexi’s deal with Aubrey Ning, Stella Du didn’t drop by again as she bossed around her group mates to represent her products. Regardless, Lexi didn’t care as she only gave her an intimidating eye contact as a warning not to push her luck today. Moreover, Stella Du managed to entice Benjamin Shao for a deal. Still, their contract wasn’t any better than Lexi’s as Stella Du had to loan from the said man with eye-twitching interest and equity share of her company.

Finally, the event came to an end and almost all of Lexi’s teammates gained a few contacts and deals while the ones whose products didn’t have any specialty, Lexi invited them to work in her company as she trusted these people and she needed more people as she knew that after this day, her company would officially start its operation.

Inside Lexi’s car, Nico Zhuang furrowed his brows because unlike her habit, she asked him to drive her home. Not just that, Lexi perched on the back seat and not in the front passenger seat. It was not that he minded or not but for some reason, he was intrigued by this sudden change of habit. After all, Lexi preferred to be an independent woman who likes to do everything herself even driving.

“Nico, wake me up when we’re home— I’ll rest first.” Yawning, Lexi decided to rest as she finally has a moment before attending Ethan Lu’s official take over in the Lu Corporation. Moreover, she was really sleepy, she had been fighting it off since earlier. Hence, ignoring the obvious glance of Nico Zhuang from the rear mirror, Lexi repositioned herself to a comfortable position to nap.

“Okay…?” Nodding in understanding, Nico Zhuang raised his brows as he shrugged his question for if she was alright or not. After all, Lexi had been working hard and perhaps, it was taking a toll on her.

With that said remark, Nico Zhuang began maneuvering the car at a slow speed so as to not disturb his master. Indeed, Nico Zhuang already switched sides and chose Lexi as his master— making Ethan Lu as the mistress instead. Furthermore, they have all the time in the world and would reach the event with the time they had. Therefore, Nico Zhuang didn’t hesitate to reroute and avoid bumpy roads and traffic jams.

Soon, they reached Ethan Lu’s villa. However, seeing numerous vehicles parked outside and men surrounding the place, Nico Zhuang’s eyes widened. Slowly, he shifted the gear to reverse as he knew it would not be good to proceed. Alas, just as their car was moving backward, another car came rushing and came into a full halt behind them— bumping them a little and giving a little impact inside Lexi’s car.

That very instant, Lexi woke up as she held onto the door handle to avoid herself from being thrown in the front. Without knowing what happened, Lexi’s initial reaction was to scold Nico Zhuang. “Nico! What are you doing?! Can’t you be careful?!” Aggravated at the sudden impact, Lexi glared at the front but seeing that Nico Zhuang remained stoic while staring at the rear mirror.

Subconsciously, Lexi followed his gaze and looked to her behind. There, a car was behind. Lexi then scanned her gaze and saw that they were already in front of Ethan Lu’s villa. The moment she saw quite a few numbers of vehicles parked around and men in suits, Lexi’s heart raced a little.

“Madam, the old master is here.” Cold and emotionless, Nico Zhuang reported as he didn’t break his stare from the car from behind. It was as if Nico Zhuang wasn’t just looking at the car but the person maneuvering inside.

That instant, his aura drastically changed into killing intent as his grip on the steering wheel tightened— ready to snap it in half. Still, his top priority was Lexi and her safety. After all, the old master was very unpredictable and no one knows what he might say or do to Lexi.

To him, it was probably something about Ethan Lu’s official take over. Thus, Edward Lu would now make his move to meddle with the new master’s personal affairs. If that happens, not only would it affect Lexi but the whole Yang family would be implicated.

“Madam, will you put your seatbelt on, please? We have to avoid the old master and let Master know about this.” Asking in a polite yet resolute tone, Nico Zhuang glanced at her through the rear mirror. Alas, the moment he laid his eyes on Lexi, he saw a different aura of Lexi as if she would kill a person.

“Avoid? No. Move ahead. The old master of the Lu family… he wouldn’t make this grand visit just to let us go. Also, I can’t let this slide… trying to harm me,”

‘And my uncertain child.’ The rest of her sentence was finished inside her head. Although she didn’t know yet if she was pregnant or not, Lexi had enough of people trying to harm her children— her products and now, the unsure baby in her womb.
