The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 284 – The residue of Old Ethan Lu

Lexi remained silent the whole time the three evacuated the place. On the other hand, Ethan Lu also didn’t defend himself anymore as he remained kneeling on the washboard.

He would be lying he if said he wasn’t amused at Lexi’s reasoning earlier. It was enough for him to go cray cray and fanboy to his lovely genius girlfriend. Hence, knowing that she would be reasonable to him as well, Ethan Lu was relieved that she wasn’t jealous about the lady cleaner earlier.

As soon as the main door shut close, Lexi’s piercing gaze turned more violent which almost made Ethan Lu jolt from the washboard.

‘Why did she look even angrier now?’ He wondered in panic inwardly.

“What a beautiful scenery… two huge smooth mountains, a curvy path towards the bottom of the hills— Ethan Lu, how do I skin you alive?” Repeating the compliment the lady cleaner had reminded her of and reported to her, Lexi ground her teeth.

God knows how irked she was when she heard those very words. She knew that there was no Lexi and Ethan Lu at that time but still, Lexi found it hard to recover hearing all of that.

At the same time, Ethan Lu gasped as he somehow heard her as if the old pervert Ethan Lu was talking. After all, he would indeed dirty talk like that in the past but, for pete’s sake! He might talk like that but he would not go further than that. After all, he liked viewing the beautiful sceneries back then— talking about changing girlfriends faster than he changed his clothes.

“Love, please forgive me! I am in the wrong but I’m a changed person now!” Rubbing his palms together until it made friction, Ethan Lu profusely pleaded for his life.

“Huh, I am really lost for words towards you.” Shaking her head sideways, Lexi scoffed in frustration as her eyes stung— clouding her vision. For some reason, her heart ached even more upon hearing the ‘I’m a changed person now’ part. It was the same emotion back when she cried herself to sleep because of unknown reasons.

“Baby, please! I really am in the wrong and I will never do it again, I swear! I will be struck by lightning if I even think about doing that again!” Desperate for her forgiveness, Ethan Lu continued to rub his palms together.

Alas, his actions paused seeing that she began to get emotional again. “Love…” Disregarding his punishment, Ethan Lu slowly stood from his kneeling and strode over to her side.

“Love, I know the old Ethan Lu is trash and a jerk but, I swear I will never go back to that person. I already have you and you are the only one who’s good enough for me— I don’t need anyone else but you.” Creasing his brows together, his gaze softened as he watched her mellow side profile.

“I know! And I don’t care about how you were in the past— I am just… just frustrated I don’t know why!” Lexi exasperatedly explained as she was indeed furious after hearing those words and envisioned his face while saying it to another woman.

She knew for a fact that he was probably not in love with her at that time let alone even knew her. Lexi understood… she knew that, and she could understand that simple one, two, three, puzzle. However, her emotions had been playing with her. Hence, she actually felt jealous for the lady cleaner whom he feasted his eyes on while she was cleaning his house.

Lexi could not help but think about what’s inside that old Ethan Lu’s mind while watching another woman almost unclad. Not to mention, her looks weren’t so-so and her body was definitely top-notch!

She felt so petty and immature but what could she do? Her heart already triumphed and trampled all her rational reasonings. These mood swings of hers were growing really uncontrollable with every passing day, especially if it was about Ethan Lu who was able to trigger her into madness and also her antidote from going gaga.

“It’s okay… I understand, I’m sorry.” Gently pulling the steaming Lexi into his embrace, Ethan Lu softly took all the blame and tenderly stroked her head.

Since she had been very unpredictable in the past few months, Ethan Lu was used to it and believed that it was all due to pressure and stress for establishing her own company. Therefore, having something irrelevant, such as this female cleaner matter pop up, Ethan Lu guessed that it triggered all her emotions all at once.

Lexi slowly pulled away from him and raised her gaze while her lips curved downwards. She wasn’t crying but just on the verge of crying once again. Still, in his eyes, she was adorably cute.

“This Ethan Lu— version two point O, only has his eyes to one woman.” Gently smiling, he placed a light peck on her lips. “Just you, my Lexi Yang.” Once again, he placed another kiss on her lips but this time, he didn’t part and went to a deeper kiss.

His hand slowly raised and stroked her cheeks, stilling it as he pressed his lips a little bit harder against hers. Ethan Lu would be lying if he said he wasn’t delighted that she was getting jealous.

Granted that she was being jealous towards the lady cleaner, still, he wanted to thank this day as he finally saw Lexi being jealous. After all, she had been too mature and trustful, giving him all the freedom he could ever want.

He once asked her why she was so open and understanding, that what if he would be seduced. Her answer? It was these exact same words: “Cheating is always a choice. I realized that in a third party issue, the one to blame was the person who’s committed to a relationship, not the third party. Because, if a person truly loves you, even if he/she was locked in a room full of good looking people— he/she would remain faithful not just loyal. Also, if you wanted to cheat or I wanted to, we could do it any day if we don’t love each other. If we don’t love each other enough.”
