The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 280 – Ethan Lu, I will skin you alive!

Ethan Lu languidly leaned his back against the comfortable backrest of the executive chair. His gaze moved towards the occupied seats and remained quiet, waiting for everyone to leave.

When the last person left, Ethan Lu traveled his gaze once again. Gerald Huang, Harold Lu, and three other elders from the Lu family remained in their seats. Lyrick Jiang and Jarred Guo were also present, sitting on the side of the room.

“Master, aren’t we too obvious? That Dennis might be suspicious about this bold meeting.” Clearing his throat once again, Gerald Huang inquired. Unlike his opposition earlier, his tone had a complete change.

“Hehe, elder Huang, aren’t you a little pussy? Hahaha!” Chuckling at his naughty humor, Harold Lu let out a series of coughs after laughing at his own joke.

“Master, shouldn’t we be a little cautious around director Lu?” One of the elders timidly glanced at Ethan Lu’s bored front. To his surprise, the moment he uttered his question, a slight amusement flashed across Ethan Lu’s face.

“Cautious? No, we shouldn’t. I’d like to make him feel a little restless. To the degree that he can no longer sleep at night while wondering about this small tea party of ours, my dear uncle will lead me to his secrets himself. Mistakes always happen when someone is anxious.” A devious smirk formed on the side of his lips.

Actually, Ethan Lu would often gather these men just to chit chat. Yet, he displayed it as if it was some serious meeting to plot out something. Of course, the first person who would be wary of this were the ones who had been doing any form of corruption in the company.

While the executive directors were in awe and glad that they chose the right side, on the other hand, Jarred Guo and Lyrick Jiang were only a little in awe. Not because they found their master really cunning but the fact that their boss had the ability to transform into an entirely different person whenever he was in the lion’s den— camouflaging himself as the king of the jungle yet a white rabbit at home.

‘Wow… I wonder if the lady boss had seen this side of the master.’ Jarred Guo thought inwardly as he peered at his boss’s side profile.

‘Master, I am sorry but your image last night will never be forgotten in my mind.’ Sending his sincerest apology telepathically, Lyrick Jiang could never look at his master the same ever again. After all, he already knew who was more powerful— it was Lexi Yang, his goddess and the boss of his boss!

Just then, Lyrick Jiang felt his phone vibrate from the inside of his suit pocket. Out of habit, Lyrick Jiang slid his hand to check if the email was important. To his shock, the sender was the person he was worshiping day and night— Lexi Yang!

Without a seconds hesitation, Lyrick Jiang opened the message of his goddess to see if she was hiring him. If that’s the case, Lyrick Jiang would gladly receive the whips for resigning as Ethan Lu’s assistant and accept Lexi’s offer.

However, unlike his daydream, Lyrick Jiang was baffled by the short message. It says:

[From: Lexi Yang

Mr. Jiang, I wanted to have a talk with you and Ethan. ASAP. ]

“Oy, what’s wrong with you?” Glancing at Lyrick Jiang who had this funny expression plastered across his face, Jarred Guo’s brows knitted in curiosity before he took a peek of the message. Fortunately, he was skilled enough to have a glimpse of the message from their lady boss.

“Is the madam in danger? Call Nico.” Suggesting the most befitting move, Jarred Guo calmly shook his head to the side as he thought that his colleague was overreacting again.

Unbeknownst to him, Lyrick Jiang was only analyzing what tone Lexi just used while sending this message. Was she mad? Was it important? Scratch that, of course, it should be important! But, why was she suddenly asking him to go to their house with his boss? It’s not like she was going to make them kneel again… right?

After a tiring day of her days arrangements, Lexi went home while being welcomed by the lady cleaner. Seeing her properly sitting down in the living area, she nodded in satisfaction before walking towards the said area of the house and perched opposite the lady.

Behind her, Nico Zhuang’s eyes bulged upon seeing an unfamiliar lady. His eyes skimmed her overly exposed skin as if she was there to seduce someone.

Nico Zhuang had accompanied Lexi in broad daylight and imposed as her official assistant. After all, he didn’t need to hide himself anymore hence, he followed her to the renovation site and to her other meetings. Still, Lexi never mentioned about this woman’s presence that seemed as if she has been there for a whole day.

His gaze altered from the provocative lady to Lexi’s unsmiling side profile. Just one glance and Nico Zhuang could tell that his Master would die tonight!

‘Master, I appreciate all your help but I apologize I could not help you this time.’ After realizing his master’s doomsday, Nico Zhuang already sent his advance condolences before heading to the kitchen to grab a glass of water for himself and for his new master Lexi.

Inside his mind, he was still thankful that his master sent him to Lexi as he could get another job as her assistant if ever Ethan Lu would not survive tonight. Also, he was glad that he was a mere guard that doesn’t have to meddle with Ethan Lu’s personal affairs.

“Miss, if I may ask, how long have you been the house owner’s cleaner?” Gently smiling, Lexi could not help but look at the woman’s smooth legs. The more she looked at it, the more she was provoked to caress them to know the texture of her skin.

Of course, this thought only added to her fury towards Ethan Lu because if Lexi, who was straight, was being tempted to touch the woman, what more if she was a guy?

“More than half a year ago, Madam.” The lady hung her head low as she could not bear to keep any eye contact from the intimidating woman across her.

‘Ethan Lu… I will skin you alive!’ She threatened inwardly as Lexi secretly ground her teeth.
