The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 180 – Family Outing

Four months had passed since the filming of Taming Hearts began. Two weeks ago, they finally wrapped up and they were only waiting for the premiere night.

“So, what now?” Turning her head to her side, Churu inquired to Lexi who was busy sewing another dress for her.

“Hmm?” Without turning her head, Lexi hummed a questioning tune to Churu’s sudden inquiry.

“I mean since the filming of taming hearts ended and you don’t take projects even if your name is well, mildly cleared— what’s your plan?” Touching up her facial mask, Churu uttered in a matter of factly tone.

In the past two weeks, Lexi had been idling around their house. If she would not help minor things in the Yang Company, she would be watching a comedy show or sewing clothes for her and making a facial mask. Therefore, after observing her for two weeks, Churu must ask what was her plan now? Help Abigail Fan in the agency?

“Actually… I’ve been thinking of starting a business.” Placing down the cute costume she made herself for Churu, Lexi shifted her gaze to the cute dumpling as if she was very productive by the way she talks.

“Business? What business~?”

“I want to start a skincare line.” Looking at Churu and the facial mask on her face that she personally concocted, she grinned.

Lexi had been thinking about what she wanted to do after accomplishing taming hearts. However, because of how hectic their schedule with the film with all the changes and location problems— she never had the time to give much thought about it.

But, last week, while she was refilling the facial mask that Churu loved so much, Lexi thought: ‘if a talking dumpling that came from whatever world like this, maybe, just maybe I can make money out of it?’

“Skincare~?!” Churu’s eyes lit up. In her mind, the business would be a whole warehouse filled with facial masks so she wouldn’t run out.

“Hmmm, I still have to do more research and attend seminars about this field. Don’t worry, Sissy— you won’t run out of facial masks again.” Chuckling, Lexi briefly explained. Churu might not know it but Lexi had already enrolled in different seminars and classes to know more about the business she wanted to venture.

After all, even though she has the capital but the competition was tough— she needed more knowledge about it. Moreover, in retrospect, Lexi actually wished to be a dermatologist back then. However, due to her engagement to Morris Liu, she set that aside and studied business management.

But now that Lexi only needed was to think about herself and what kind of career she desired— Lexi might not be a dermatologist or specialist but, thinking about having a skincare line, it actually made her heart raced in excitement.

“Amazing…~” Staring at Lexi in awe, Churu had envisioned her space bag to be filled with facial masks she could take when she goes back to where she came from.

“Hmmm, just thinking about it is amazing but, after our family outing, I have to hustle to make this work.” Despite knowing the struggle she would face in building a business on her own— without the help of the Yang family; Lexi wanted to prove to herself that she could do something by herself.

“Oh oh~! Lexi, let me see my swimsuit~!” Reminded of their vacation grande, Churu’s excitement escalated quickly.

Lexi happily graced the excited dumpling with the swimsuits she prepared for her and even a small wide brim summer straw sun hat. She made sure that Churu’s swimsuits and outfit would match hers since they were sisters for life.

The next day…

Just like what Frederick Yang prepared, the whole family of three flew to an island where they could unwind.

The resort they checked in was a huge private resort and hotel that was screaming with extravagance. Not only that, but the ambiance was so soothing and relaxing and the view was to die for. In other words, it was a perfect place for them to ease their stress.

Lexi was mildly surprised that his father found this place despite his busy schedule. Walking up to Frederick Yang, she linked her arms around his, “Dad, how did you find this place?” Lexi smiled sweetly but to his father’s perspective, she was examining him.

Lillian Yang softly chuckled seeing that her daughter was instigating his father about the place because Lillian Yang already knew the answer.

Clearing his throat, Frederick Yang looked away from Lexi’s keen eyes as he answered, “From a friend— yes, a friend of mine recommended this place.”

“Really, Dad?” Smiling, Lexi had this ‘are you about that, father dear?’ expression plastered across her face.

Just then, a private chopper descended to the open area from the distance to where they stood. For some reason, Lexi’s attention was caught. Soon, she saw a man in a white long sleeve blouse that was tucked to his elbows, it has a deep v-neck cut that revealed his honed chest, matched with a daring color of dark orange for a spring summer-like shorts. He had a straw boater hat on his head and sunglasses covering his eyes.

Repeating her words, Lexi sweetly turned her head back to her father who’s lies were revealed immediately. “Really, Dad? Whose friend?”

“Oh, dear, we were already caught.” Jumping in, Lillian Yang giggled upon seeing Ethan Lu who was now leisurely walking his way to them.

“Mom! You’re also in this?” Dismayed, Lexi was in disbelief that her parents invited Ethan Lu into their family outing. It was not like she was mad about it, but still, wasn’t this a family outing just for the three of them? Therefore, how could she spend time with her parents if she would be flirting with Ethan Lu?

Indeed, some time ago, Lexi started flirting back with him as her way to make him run away from her. After all, up until now, she hasn’t forgotten the feelings of his kisses. Alas, after Ethan Lu runs away, he would always come back and the cycle repeats.

Soon, Ethan Lu reached them and with a bright smile, he greeted! “Woah! Uncle, Auntie, Lexi, you’re also here? What a surprise!”

“Yes, Ethan. We are also here.” Rolling her eyes, Lexi shook her head as Ethan Lu’s lies were too obvious as his expression told her everything she needed to know.

“Auntie~! Hi Uncle~!” As usual, Ethan Lu excitedly greeted Lillian Yang and after a bow, he gave Frederick Yang a knowing grin. He added in between his giggles, “Are we busted?” His last remarks made Lillian Yang heartily chuckle while Frederick Yang bit his tongue to stop his laughter.

“Gosh…” At this point, Lexi wondered if who was her parent’s real child because certainly, how they root for Ethan Lu was like how parents support their own child. Nonetheless, she could not do anything about it now since he was already here.

“Oh ho, Sissy~! I hope I find cute guys here~!” On the other hand, Churu who already knew this coming could not be bothered as she began her hunt for her prospective date. Surely, this gave Lexi an extreme headache as her only ally has her own hidden agenda.

‘I think this won’t be as relaxing as I thought it would turn out…’ Lexi thought inwardly as she unenthusiastically watched Churu’s wiggling bum while flying away from her and then to her parents that was heartily giggling with Ethan Lu.
