Meanwhile at the Lu Corporation…

“Good day everyone! Your beloved young master is here to grace everyone with his presence.” The moment Ethan Lu entered the spacious meeting room, he announced like a free spirit.

The room was filled with intimidating individuals as if they bore the aura of being the founder of the world government.

Subconsciously, all core members of the Lu Corporation turned their attention to the dashing figure who just arrived. There, they saw the beaming aura of the young master of the family.

Surprisingly enough, some of them had a reaction that contained dismay seeing him. They followed Ethan’s figure by their gaze until he perched on the first seat on the right side near the head seat.

Seeing that all of their attention was on him, Ethan Lu grinned from ear to ear, revealing his even white teeth. “What? Too happy to see me?”

With his last remarks, others averted their gaze with a faint humped while others cleared their throat. Surely, Ethan Lu’s abrupt attendance had a strong impact; good and bad. Regardless, Ethan Lu was too dashing to care. Moreover, he hadn’t had enough sleep hence, he didn’t mind their ‘warm’ welcome.

“It’s good to see our young master again after how many years.” Suddenly, one man in a pinned striped tailored business suit heartily spoke. Despite being in his late 40’s, his noble appearance seemed like he didn’t age.

“Yes! Though I am mildly surprised that our young master suddenly showed up.” Another man who’s in his mid 50’s with numerous white strands of hair brushed along with his black ones. His face was neatly shaved and had mild wrinkles all over his face.

“I am also glad to see you, Uncle Gerald. But, I’m more relieved that I didn’t give Uncle Harold a heart attack for surprising him.” As usual, Ethan Lu’s response towards the two of his somewhat favorite uncles was unreserved.

Of course, his expected reply caused the two men to laugh loudly — making the atmosphere inside the enormous conference room lightened.

Suddenly, the entrance opened once again and revealed a noble-looking man in his late 40’s. Granting that everyone bore different auras that were all be considered as intimidating, the newcomer was the most noticeable one.

If one didn’t know, the man would be mistaken as the headmaster of the Lu family with his palpable demeanor.

Seeing him from his position, Ethan Lu’s lips curled upward. He saw the man briefly scanned the room and their eyes met before the man began taking a stride towards the first seat on the left side near the head seat. As he made his way, some of the core members of the family stood on their seats and slightly bowed their heads as a sign of respect.

This gesture only indicated that these men respected the man and treated him as the next family head. After all, the Lu family had an old tradition that was akin to a royal family in ancient times.

“Young master, I didn’t know you’ll attend.” The moment the man sat on his seat across Ethan, he greeted in his firm deep voice.

“Well, should I have asked for your permission first, Uncle Dennis?” Still wearing his smile, Ethan Lu calmly responded as he leaned his back against the chair.

“I see you’ve been well since you still have that sharp tongue of yours.” Dennis Lu smiled that didn’t reach his eyes.

“Hehe, I missed you too Uncle.” Ethan chuckled after hitting a nerve on Dennis Lu.

Obviously, their seemingly normal exchange of pleasantries affected the stilled atmosphere and change into a suppressing one.

After some time of silence, the door opened once again and the old figure of Edward Lu appeared along with his ever-loyal assistant behind. Upon seeing the chairman, the current head of the family, everyone stood from their seat and courtly bowed their heads.

No one dared to take their seats until Edward Lu perched on the head seat.

Glancing on his right side, Edward Lu quietly humped seeing his rebellious grandson. Fortunately, Lyrick Jiang reported that Ethan Lu was attending this meeting or else, he might have had a mini heart attack upon seeing him.

“Ethan, if you are here to cause trouble then scram.”

“Woah, chairman! How did you know that?” Ethan Lu gaped in surprise which made Edward Lu’s under-eye twitched. He added, “But not that kind of trouble, alright? I’m just here so I can save my untainted name from being tarnished because of groundless accusations due to meddling with my dear Uncle Dennis project.”

Ethan Lu sighed heavily as if the whole world wronged him. Yet, his unfiltered words displeased the majority of the core members of the Lu family.

“Ethan, refrain yourself from insinuating anything.” Displeased by Ethan’s ambiguous words, Dennis Lu warned with a threatening tone yet, this only made Ethan Lu’s eyes lit up.

“Insinuating anything? Uncle, I had clearly stated the reason why the project should be halted but still, we are having this meeting because you wanted to push the project. Seriously, are you a businessman or a corrupt government official?”

“Ethan Lu!” Upon hearing Ethan’s last remarks, Dennis Lu slammed his fist on top of the long table. Veins popped on the back of his hand as his jaw tightened.

Unlike Dennis Lu triggered countenance, Ethan managed to keep his cool as he was satisfied to annoy this uncle of his, he resumed.

“Please Uncle, the land was a previous cemetery — give the dead some slack. Let them have their peace, jeez!” Ethan shook his head in disappointment as folders were placed in front of every individual by the assistants on the side.

“Granting that the land was indeed cheap and the location was good, but… it’s not a good risk because, in the future, the business would die when this awful truth would be exposed. Even if we profited now, the consequences in the future would be dire and the Lu Corporation especially our chain of hotels would be affected as it will be dragged in this impending scandal. Tell me, Uncle, are you trying to sabotage our Lu family?” As Ethan continued his statements, his expression gradually changed and his eyes sharpened while staring directly towards Dennis Lu.

Upon hearing that his usual playful tone gradually changed into a threatening and domineering one, everyone subconsciously gulped a mouthful of saliva. On the other hand, Edward Lu lowkey observed his grandson and seeing him like this, a glint of satisfaction flashed across his eyes.
