The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 94 – Yes or no?

Unlike the first day, Lexi and Ethan had more determination on the second day. Like the first day, Ethan and Lexi slumped on the same spot they rested yesterday.

On the other hand, Churu managed to collapsed a step past her position on her first day of working out.

“I think… I really lost fats today chu…” Churu convinced herself. However, no matter how she sought compliments from Lexi which she did, Churu was somehow disappointed.

“I’m tired, I’m tired.” Ethan muttered in between his gasping for air. He already humiliated himself yesterday, hence, Ethan wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

“Haha, you sure are…” Chuckling at him by admitting the truth even if no one’s asking, Lexi grinned remembering how she dissed Ethan down to the depths of his boastful soul.

Panting, Ethan briefly winced as he felt his muscles ache. It as if the pain from working out yesterday intensified. Moreover, the horrifying attacked his eyes received on their first day nearly caused him to go mental by seeing more of her skin; that she complained of gaining fat yet to him, it’s a work of art. Hence, for the health of his mind and heart, he specifically instructed her to cover up with a jacket until the end of their workout.

Silence momentarily enveloped them as neither of them talked while they stabilized their breathing. Since the ever supportive Yang parents were kind enough to welcome Ethan and had invited him to a healthy lunch yesterday, Lexi and him managed to talked about random things; including her audition to a certain movie.

“By the way, the audition will be today right? Let me drive you there.” Breaking the tranquil silence, Ethan offered.

“Hmm? I haven’t decided yet though…” probably since she was used to Ethan’s often assuming stuff, Lexi was more calmer to response.

Considering that she was tempted, several things was interfering with her decision. For example; Lexi didn’t know if she could pull it off with her state of mind.

After all, the script that Abigail Fan sent and the role she was referring for Lexi to practice was slightly challenging. Abigail didn’t asked her to audition for the main female lead nor did she wanted for the main antagonist; she wanted for the role of a celestial being that is also a comic relief!

Sure, Lexi’s looks might get her the higher chance of getting the role. However, how would she portray it is the problem… because, it should be a little comical which is not her forte!

Furthermore, she could not help but envision Churu and the demonic angels that she talked about! To simplify, Lexi couldn’t get in character with the notion of dumpling in mind!

“But… do you want to try or not?” Ethan firmly questioned that could only be answered with a yes or no. Based on how Lexi talked about it yesterday, Ethan perceived that deep down, she really wanted to try her luck.

She gave off the vibe of anticipation and enthusiasm that he never saw before. Therefore, disregarding the scandals and any reason that was stopping her, Ethan wanted to encourage her to do what she wants that would make her happy.

“You know, even if I wanted to I–” Explaining her argument, Lexi was interrupted midway because of Ethan.

“Then, that should settle it.” Rolling to her side, Ethan announced with a certain smile. To him, Ethan shrugged the foreign emotions that he assumed as infatuation on the side because what they have right now, he was already satisfied with it and that’s what’s important to him.

“Can you please stop deciding for me?” Turning her head to him, Lexi rolled her eyes yet, for some reason, she didn’t feel irritated.

“Eeeng! Wrong, I am only giving you the last push to take the route that you might regret later if you didn’t even try.” This time, Ethan managed not to flinch by the sight of Lexi’s bare yet captivating beauty. He added,

“Where is it?”

“What where?” Arching her brows, Lexi asked in confusion.

“The script… duh?”

“Duh? Haha, say it again.” Lexi giggled when she heard the word ‘duh’ coming out from his mouth. The way he copied her was too hilarious that lightened the warm atmosphere around them.

“No way!”

“You got lots of free time huh?” Lexi glanced at Ethan Lu who was on the driving seat before she buckled up.

“For your information, I am a busy fellow.” Responding in a matter of fact tone, Ethan honestly commented.

Indeed, since he got himself involved with their family affairs because he wanted to distract himself, Ethan’s schedule became chaotic and tighter than ever. Yet, he still chose to make time for Lexi because of the simple fact that she was frustrated by her weight gain.

“Really,” Unconvinced, Lexi slightly shook her head as she was unaware of his current matters.

She glanced down and there, Churu was slumping on her lap like a clingy kitten albeit in a dumpling form.

‘Sissy, you got a little slim!’ Lexi encouraged telepathically to comfort the dead tired dumpling but in truth, Churu’s progress was hopeless.

“Don’t mind me chu… let me rest chu~ good luck with your audition… chu,” Churu faintly cheered her with all the strength she could muster. In her mind, she never got this exhausted back when she was in her original form.

However, for some reason, aside from her own exhaustion, she also seemed to suck Lexi’s weariness as her host’s fatigue was becoming less and less effective.

‘That old hag… she should have at least told me beforehand.’ Churu thought inwardly as she came to a conclusion of her current situation.

In a different realm that seemed to be the same as earth but different tenants, huge screens on each building and television on each of their dwellings — beautiful angels and elusive ones were welling up as they watch their ultimate idol Churu’s tired figure.

“Master Churu, please be well!”

“Our mighty captain is doing so much for our girl… this is touching.”

“Booohooo, don’t worry Idol, your sacrifice will be remembered when Lexi get the role!”

Surely, these celestial beings were too engrossed with the highest rating that was currently being aired.
