The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 74 – Don't roast me

Fortunately, Lexi was wearing a simple shirt and denim jeans which made it easier for him to carry her without thinking much if she revealed more of her skin while he does so.

Lexi moved a little as if to find herself a comfortable spot in his arms. Sniffing his light enticing perfume with a touch of alcohol from his drinking earlier, Lexi murmured.

“Gross…”

“Hey lady… don’t roast me in your sleep, jeez… this girl, really…” Ethan’s brows twitched hearing her honest yet unnecessary comment. However, what baffled him is, how can she tell him that if she reeked with alcohol as well?

Much stronger and very unladylike if he may add; unlike her usual elegant demeanor. It is still shocking that despite that, Ethan wasn’t turned off or anything of the sort. Instead, he was only frustrated by the fact that Lexi could be this carefree at sometimes and she might be this reckless with other men as well.

On his way to his private presidential suite that was solely for Ethan Lu; the heir of the Lu Family that owns the Grand Hotel, Ethan bumped into the establishment’s manager.

“Y- young master!” A middle-aged man flinched seeing Ethan Lu in the hallway — carrying a woman. The manager immediately showed his respect with a bow as he addressed Ethan. He explained,

“I received a notice that you’re staying in your room so I came to check if nothing’s amiss.”

“Manager Kang, don’t let my father know I was here.” For some reason, Ethan’s happy go lucky personality drastically changed as he spat his words in a warning tone.

Perceiving the firm words from Ethan Lu, Manager Kang gulped a mouthful of saliva as he nodded. “Yes, young master Lu.”

Ethan Lu scrutinized the manager’s intimidated figure, he nodded in satisfaction seeing the fright towards him and resumed his strides to his destination. Manager Kang automatically stepped aside while bowing and let the young master go in his suite

Glancing at Ethan’s broad back while carrying a woman in his arms, the manager’s curiosity was piqued on the woman’s identity.

He hadn’t had a good glance at the woman’s face as she was facing on Ethan’s chest and Manager Kang was so startled by Ethan’s presence which distracted where he should focus.

If he doesn’t know any better, Manager Kang would think that Ethan was just like what others see him. However, he had already witnessed how destructive Ethan Lu could be — especially with the Lu family’s power struggle.

“Good gracious… I didn’t see anything, right, didn’t see anything.” Manager Kang heaved a sigh of relief when Ethan entered his presidential suite. He convinced himself that he didn’t bumped into Ethan and didn’t know a thing.

In that case, if ever Ethan’s father came to know that Manager Kang didn’t inform about his son staying for the night at their branch, Ethan would surely back him up. This only showed that Manager Kang sided more on the future head of the Lu family.

The presidential suite was beyond grand and elegant — it was majestic! All amenities were high-tech that hadn’t been implemented and staying in one of these rooms would surely cost half a million per night.

The glass bedroom door opened with face recognition of the place’s owner. As it opened, it revealed an enormous bedroom that was twice the size of a standard studio apartment.

Ethan strode directly to the uncreased bed. He gently put her down as if she was the most precious and fragile thing in the world.

“Hey, don’t do anything funny to her chu!” Churu warned as Ethan stared at Lexi without a word. She doesn’t want to use her skills without Lexi’s approval but if worse comes to worst, she’ll be using all her skills to knock him out.

“I’m taking so much risk for you, but… huh, nevermind.” Ethan mumbled as a slight smile formed on the side of his lips.

He moved on Lexi’s feet that were hanging outside the bed and took off her sneakers. He had never done this before but as if his instinct tells him what he should do.

“Hmm!” Lexi grumbled a tune as she slightly moved. Her eyes slowly cracked opened but her sight was blurred. She saw a figure stood near her feet hence, Lexi supported her heavy body to sit.

Wiping her heavy eyes, Lexi looked at Ethan once again. Seeing his familiar dashing looks, she brightly smiled showing her even white teeth.

“It’s you! I thought it was someone else, hehe.”
