“YOU LOSE.” The words displayed on Ethan’s enormous TV screen showed indicating that Lexi lost once again.

“Aha! That’s my 57th win but at least, you fought longer this time.” Ethan chuckled. She doesn’t know if what he said should comfort her or ridicule her.

Lexi inhaled then heavily exhaled before turning her head to Ethan with a blank, unenthusiastic expression.

“Really? You’re counting?”

“Hihi~!” Churu who was enjoying this moments between them chuckled adorably on the side.

How did Lexi and Ethan ended up playing Mortal Kombat?

[Three hours ago]

“It’s fine chu~! Mr. Initial task have a pure intention, chu~!” Churu cheered while Lexi is being pushed towards Ethan’s doorstep.

‘You know what? I’m starting to doubt your assurance.’ Lexi rolled her eyes to the giddy dumpling on the side. Since she agreed and promised Churu to accomplish her given task, thus, she granted Ethan’s request.

After all, Ethan is not a bad guy and if he is, she could make use of the unlocked skill Churu received and ask her to knock Ethan out if he does something crazy.

After they entered on Ethan’s villa, Lexi was quite surprised that unlike his flashy personality, his villa’s interior design was rather simple. Aside from a huge TV screen, latest console, set of comfortable yet elegant couches, a small table at the center, and a sizable aquarium on the side; nothing seemed too galant in it.

It’s the very opposite of what kind of person Lexi perceived as him that is why she was quite confounded.

“Ah, seat wherever you want, make yourself at home — I’ll prepare food.” Ethan hurriedly uttered as he rushed to the kitchen with the things he bought from the convenience store earlier.

Before she could even react, Ethan already fled to prepare their food which made her swallow her words. Changing her heels into house slippers, Lexi was unknowingly smiled. She noticed that Ethan only took off his expensive shoes and didn’t wear any house slippers.

In her perspective, he must have thought that he only had one of them and lend them to her instead.

‘How considerate, huh?’ She thought inwardly as she wear the oversized slippers of his.

“He’s a real gentleman, chu~!” Churu didn’t forget to comment and compliment Ethan albeit true.

“He dated tons of girls, why doesn’t he have an extra pair?” She murmured seeing nothing but Ethan’s two different pair of shoes; one pair is the one he took off while the other one is a simple yet expensive slip ons.

Shrugging off her curiosity, Lexi intrude on the living area and skimmed through its simple furniture.

Shortly after, Ethan was finally done and brought the instant foods he had prepared. Placing it on the small table, he sat on the couch opposite her.

“This is Ethan’s special noodles! Dig in!” He proudly introduced which made the corner of her lips twitched.

‘Special?’

“Eh? Are you not hungry?” As usual, Ethan with a confused look on his face tilted his head seeing her not reacting.

“Hungry? No.” Lexi honestly sassed with a disdainful look on her face. Isn’t he the one who wanted to eat in the first place? Why does he sound like it was her who requested it?

“Also, I won’t eat so much msg in me.” She added and lightly shook her head. After all, Lexi is a celebrity and even though she was facing tons of backlash on the made up scandals, she still watch her diet for her own health.

“In moderation, it’s not that bad but whatever, I’ll eat it all, for your fill as well.” He heedlessly smiles and seemed he understood her reason.

Just then, before Ethan could even start devouring the food he prepared, he glanced at her unnoticeable bored look. Thus, he stood and set up his time killer before lending the controller to her.

“You can play while I eat.” He offered with a smile.

Alas, his offered only led to him teaching her play different games as she was akin to a baby who had zero knowledge of every game he introduced.

It has also been the reason for her to stay longer than he expected to be. Surely, Ethan never felt bored with Lexi as his company. If anything, he never felt his place as lively as that moment with her.

[Present time]

“Whatever, I’m going.” Lexi shrugged and straightened her back. Ethan slightly frowned but it vanished immediately as he already asked for her time. He can’t be selfish after all.

“Alright, I’ll send you off.” He offered as he stood and Lexi followed from behind.

Just as Ethan opened the door, a familiar figure stood in front of his doorstep. Since Lexi wore her heels, she was a little late to reach Ethan and when she did, she was utterly shocked seeing the ever cold fromt of Morris Liu.
