“Well?” Wren smile as he tilts his head looking straight at Lexi.

Meekly smiling back, Lexi responded courtly, “If CEO Tanaka proposed, how can I refuse? However, I am not sure myself if the Yang family were invited to a grand event of the Yue family.”

“Worry not, I invited you. So, I don’t think that’s a problem.” Wren confidently reassured. After all, almost the guest was all his invites. Indeed, the miss of the Yue family made good use of him which benefited her a lot.

“Thank you, CEO Tanaka.”

“Wren. Call me Wren.”

“Alright, Wr — Wren.” Lexi slightly hesitated by the close address of the first name. Ultimately, in country X, they would not address someone in their first name if they are not a close friend or had an established relationship. But, considering that Wren Tanaka came from a foreign country albeit had mixed blood, it is understandable that he will be a little carefree.

“Woah — I want to marry him, chu~!” Churu’s eyes gleam in delight as she never took away her gaze from Wren since the very start.

‘Sissy, please conduct yourself with dignity.’ Lexi almost spat the water she was drinking when she heard Churu’s proclamation. Surely, this little bun though small and cute that can be compared to a child; she has the mind of a woman. Which made Lexi think if she did get a talking manual or a defective spirit.

“Eh?” Churu who seemed that can’t comprehend about the words Lexi spat finally turns her head towards Lexi.

‘I’m pretty sure you know I said those words in the past and end up dead.’ If Lexi could roll her eyes, she would. Alas, since she was in front of the respectable Wren Tanaka and the almost non-existent Che Diayu, Lexi doesn’t want to embarrass herself that might lead to a huge misunderstanding.

Churu, on the other hand, frowned and hump, crossing her arms — displaying her displeasure about Lexi’s words. Seeing her reaction, Lexi slightly shakes her head.

Soon, the unforeseen meal ended when Wren received a call from a friend. “Nice meeting you again, Ms. Yang.” Wren held out his hand for a handshake which Lexi didn’t refuse and accepted it right away.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you too, CEO Tanaka.” Lexi responded keeping her calm poise. However, inside her mind, she was jubilating that she took a huge leap on making an acquaintance with the CEO of L-Tech innovative financing company.

“Ah, right. Ms. Che, I’m sorry but I have to cancel out date. My assistant will send you home, alright?” Wren nonchalantly uttered as if he didn’t deny the claims of Che Diayu earlier. Even so, he seems to not care as he immediately rushed to where he was heading — leaving Che Diayu and Lexi Yang.

When Lexi was sure that Wren was gone, she raised both her brows with a knowing smirk on the side of her lips.

“Well, Ms. Che, if I can excuse myself –“

“Huh, what a b*tch.” Che Diayu faintly mumbles with her head still hanging low.

“Excuse me?” Lexi who vaguely heard her words knitted her brows. Although Lexi roughly heard what Che Diayu said, she understood what she meant. Hence, when she successfully stood from her seat, she held her chin high — anticipating on what would Che Diayu embarrass herself.

“I said, you really are a seductress.” Che Diayu who kept her head low since the moment Wren denied her existence, finally raised her head to meet Lexi’s. She added in a hissed,

“I see how you seduce brother Wren and how you look at him. How tasteless.”

If this were before, Lexi would definitely drag Che Diayu by her hair or slap her hard. However, times change and even though she was being accused of something that she never did nor had an intention to do so, it didn’t have any impact on her anymore.

Lexi only sees her old self on Che Diayu. How Che Diayu looks at her with disdain and how she rationalized Wren’s action — believing that it was Lexi’s fault, not the one who declined her existence.

“Huh, poor you.” Alas, no matter how Lexi sympathized her, she would rather not show it and keep her unfazed front intact. With that said note, Lexi lightly sighs and left Che Diayu who looks at her filled with malicious intent.

‘So now that the engagement between you and Morris Liu was called off — you’ll find someone else to cling on? Dream on, Lexi Yang. Wren Tanaka is mine!’ Che Diayu proclaimed inwardly as her hate towards the ‘humiliation’ she received earlier were all blamed on Lexi; swearing a vendetta.
