The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 19 – meeting Wren Tanaka

“You know him?” Che Diayu brazenly provoking tone wasn’t kept in check thus, it instantly showed her real side. However, she cannot care less as her agenda in getting back on Lexi’s ‘maltreatment’ to her in the past was accomplished.

‘Now you are only the young miss of the Yang clan and not the future madam of the Liu Family, while I, will be the future Madam Tanaka.’ Che Diayu mocked inwardly. Just the thought of making Wren Tanaka fall head over heels to her can boost her ego.

Of course, Lexi knew the meaning behind Che Diayu’s obvious smirk as she has the same egotistical mentality before having the title of future madam Liu. Hence, girls like Che Diayu tries to curry favor to her. But now that the tables have been turned, it was now Che Diayu’s turn to feel superior by her delusional title.

Even so, though Lexi knew her disposition, she will never, ever bow her head to someone like Che Diayu even if her claims were true. Moreover, if it was true, then, she will have to take advantage of the opportunity served at her.

“I don’t, but I heard about him. So you’re meeting him today?” Lexi smiles brightly pretending that she didn’t understand the contempt from Che Diayu.

“Yes –Oh, he’s here!” Che Diayu’s eyes lit up when Wren Tanaka’s figure was caught on the corner of her eyes. She raised her hand for a wave, alas, realizing that she became a little unreserved — she immediately retracted them awkwardly.

On the other hand, Lexi followed Che Diayu’s gaze, and there, she saw a man who seems to be on his early 20’s and was being guided by the manager of the establishment. Wren Tanaka was wearing a trendy business suit with a branded brand sleeve that was overlayed by a blinding hue of the sun, yellow that only the collar of his sleeve was seen underneath — combined with a Caruso blue jacket.

His studded ears also added to the effect of looking a corporate easy going type of guy which gave Lexi the impression that she must have been looking at the wrong person. In her perspective, she expected the man named Wren Tanaka must have bear the same demeanor as the successful Morris Liu and not a boy next door type of socialite.

However, after scanning the whole premises, only Wren could be seen standing as he just entered the premises which made Lexi’s brows to raised in disbelief.

‘Wow, he’s handsome, chu!’ Churu complimented as she was stunned by the audacious stylist bearing of the man.

Retracting her gaze, Lexi composed herself as she quickly reached for her cup of tea to take a sip. Soon, Wren’s cheerful voice reached her ears. “Oh, you’re here!”

Che Diayu who was now pretending that she didn’t notice the entrance of Wren slowly turns her gaze to his direction before she meekly smiles like a gentle and reserved maiden which made Lexi’s brows twitch.

‘She is really good at playing this role.’ she sassed inwardly witnessing another pretentious act of Che Diayu. She never sees it before or rather, she was probably too busy chasing after Morris Liu that she took a blind eye to Che Diayu’s fake friendship.

“Brother Wren –” Che Diayu jolted from her seat as she acted nervously whilst putting her hands together below. She then slightly bow courteously as if she was a shy innocent girl from the past.

Lexi and Churu who was a spectator on the side scoff in disgust seeing Che Diayu’s 360 degrees change of personality real quick. “Your judgment in seeing friends is now questionable, chu! How can you not see her play pretend?!”

Churu turned her bewildered gaze to Lexi who kept her unmoved front in check. Taking a light deep breath, Lexi responded, ‘Let the past stay in the past alright?’

Soon, Wren Tanaka reached their table with a bright smile as if he has no worries in the world. On Lexi’s peripheral vision, she could see Wren altered his gaze back and forth from Che Diayu and Lexi before he raised his brows, he inquired. “Hanging out with a friend?”

“Uh — No, we just happen to bump into each other.” for some reason, Che Diayu panicked which Lexi notice instantly.

“Hi, My surname is Tanaka, Tanaka Wren. Nice meeting you.” Wren kindly introduced him as he held his hand for a handshake. Seeing his kind gesture, Lexi elegantly stood from her seat and receive his hand for a handshake, she replied.

“My last name is Yang; Lexi Yang. Nice to finally meet you Mr. Tanaka.”
