The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 5 – Good to see you too, Mr. Lu.

“So I can talk to you inside my mind?” Lexi responded inwardly.

“Yes, chu~!” Churu on the other hand admitted. For some reason, Lexi only shot her a quick glance yet she didn’t say anything.

When Lexi arrived on her father’s study, she knocks lightly. After a few knocks, she heard her father’s stern and dignified voice come through.

“Come in.”

Lexi raised her brows before entering her father’s silent study room. Looking at Father Yang, Lexi pursed her lips in a thin line. By the looks of it, their company was in a much dire situation and if the problem would never be resolved, they will soon declare bankruptcy.

After mustering her courage, Lexi sighs heavily, “Dad, will you let me help you save our company?”

Father Yang flinched as his eyes dilate looking back at her earnest gaze. For a moment, Father Yang doubted his ears but Lexi’s expression confirmed that he heard her right.

“Lexi, my daughter… you don’t have to force yourself.” Father Yang sighs heavily. Although Lexi’s thoughts about helping him to salvage their company touched him, alas, everyone knew that it was her fault why everything came crashing down. Hence, despite that his daughter was a bright woman, he was afraid that after her suicide attempt — it will trigger her again if he put her under pressure.

“I am alright, daddy. I know it was my fault… let me fix this mess I caused.” This time, Lexi’s eyes was much determined with relentless resolution in saving their company.

Father Yang stares back at her momentarily before sighing in defeat. This is his daughter after all — she may be made a fool out of herself for chasing a man but, he was confident about her judgment and brains. After all, Lexi proves herself many times before she gone mad in love.

“Alright. But, you should promise me — you will never, ever try to take your life again.”

Lexi smiles brightly receiving her father’s approval. She chuckle even more when she heard his last remarks. Hence, Lexi wordlessly approached her father and hugged his neck from behind his black, expensive chair.

“I won’t, I swear.”

“*sigh* Silly girl… you’d be the death of me.” Father Yang murmurs as he pats her arms that was on his neck — still unhappy about his only daughter’s suicide attempt two weeks ago.

“Where are we going, chu~?” Churu pop out of nowhere on the passenger seat.

Currently, Lexi was driving her own luxury car towards a certain destination. “I’m trying to save my company, obviously. I don’t want to be poor.” Lexi’s ever sarcastic tone responded.

“How? I’m excited, chu~!” Churu turned more giddy as she raised both her tiny hands up in the air and waves them sideways.

Lexi rolls her eyes and slightly shakes her head, “dumpling, does your expression ever change? Aside from being happy to hyper?”

Yet, Lexi words only passed through Churu like an air. Glancing at the dancing dumpling while cheering ‘amazing! And way to go Lexi!’ — Lexi decided to ignore Churu’s antics.

It didn’t take that long for Lexi Yang to reach her destination. Lexi with her chin held high and her back was straightened out, she enters the huge Liu Empire building.

Despite that her posture was akin to a noble princess with her heels producing a light click-clack sound with every step she takes, her designer outfit that perfectly shows every curve of her body but not too much skin, her limited edition Birkin bag silently screaming millions as if flaunting her wealth, yet, people still shot her different gazes.

Regardless, Lexi was unbothered by their gaze as she went straight away to the assistant desk. If it was before, Lexi wouldn’t even bother because she will go straight away to Moris Liu’s office.

But, the tables have already been turned and she wasn’t the future madam Liu anymore. Hence, it will only be proper for her to look for Moris Liu even if she have to steps back and recognized her place to him.

“Please tell CEO Liu, that I’m here — oh, tell him I won’t make trouble.”

The assistant clerk glance at Lexi for a second, she responded professionally.

“Apologise, Miss Yang. But you have to make an appointment if you have to meet CEO Liu.”

Lexi kept her proud front as she kept her silence. Of course she expected this treatment from Moris Liu — he hated her so much that he will not probably see her even if she make an appointment to him.

Furthermore, her father’s company will not hold longer if Moris Liu kept on putting weight to pressure the company.

Thinking of ways to meet the very person that holds the key of their company’s survival — a dashing figure was caught on the corner of Lexi’s eyes which made a sly smirk on the side of her lips.

Without a word, she rushed to the handsome man who’s about to enter the building’s elevator.

“Ethan Lu– hi.” Lexi greeted awkwardly yet still sounded mature as ever.

When the man heard someone greeting him from behind, he lazily turns his head to the source of the voice. Seeing Lexi’s figure, his eyes bulge in disbelief.

“Le–Lexi Yang?! You’re still alive?”

“Good to see you too, Mr. Lu.” Lexi tries her hardest to keep her temper at bay when Ethan spats his shock.
