The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 3 – resurrection

“It’s funny how I unhesitantly ended my life and you would just show up out of nowhere and would resurrect me just like that, really? Shouldn’t you at least give the opportunity to the people who died with natural diseases and by accident?” Lexi scoffs trying to rationalize things.

Granting that Lexi slightly believes what was the cute white dumpling was stating, she still can’t help but wonder why would the system choose vicious individuals just like her, and not the people who deserve it.

“Also –” Just as Lexi was about to prattle her next batch of opinions, alas, for the first time since she came to the space of nothingness or what she calls the ‘checkpoint of the afterlife’, she felt her soul was being pulled from the ground.

“Churu?! Hey Churu!” Lexi panicked in apprehension as she called out the little dumpling’s name. Unfortunately, Churu seems to vanish into the dark space which engulfs Lexi with dread.

Gradually, the spot she was standing slowly pulled her — as if taking her to the bottomless pit of hell.

“No!! Please! Ahh!” She screamed with nothing in particular in mind. All Lexi know was she was scared — terrified.

At that moment, an emotion that was hidden at the bottom of her heart, resurface — the very thing she doesn’t want to admit; regret.

Filled with a hundred or even thousands of regret, Lexi’s conscious mind eventually shut down along with her free falling ‘body’.

“Oh my god!!!” A noble looking middle-aged woman screamed for the last time before she fainted while witnessing her precious daughter being rescued.

3 minutes ago, probably due to the mother’s instinct, mother Yang foresaw a bad premonition. Hence, she wanted to check her daughter Lexi Yang; if she was alright just like what her daughter claims.

Alas, after a minute of silence from the inside, mother yang only heard an audible thud noise which alarmed Mother Yang even further.

She knew her daughter well. Though she must admit that she raised Lexi getting everything she wants, alas, Lexi was also a strong-willed person. Thus, Mother Yang knew that whatever crisis their family was facing right now, she’ll stay strong — the Yang family will stay strong.

However, the moment Mother Yang along with their servants intrude Lexi’s room, the scene before her gave Mother Yang the shock of her life.

There, her precious daughter was hanging lifelessly with a noose around her neck and her tongue almost out. Lexi’s body still flinches as if the very last vitality her body had was slowly fading away.

Automatically, the few servants who intrude Lexi’s room instantly rushed to her hanging figure and immediately help her down with caution.

Since Mother Yang kept on screaming, Father Yang soon came in sight. Curious about the sudden commotion, Father Yang’s complexion paled the very second he saw his wife fainting and her daughter being held down with a cut noose around her neck.

Without further ado, he rushed towards Lexi and commanded through his gritted teeth, “Summon Dr. Shen this instant!”

After he said his orders, Father Yang tries to wake Lexi by slightly shaking her shoulder.

“Lexi, baby! Can you hear daddy?” A touch of desperation and helplessness can be trance through Father Yang’s voice. His already exhausted appearance turned grimmer.

Father Yang checked her almost non-beating pulse — hoping for a miracle to happen.

One.

Two.

Three.

“*coughs*”

Lexi let out a series of coughs as she gasps for air at the same time. Her hand subconsciously touch her neck and cough even more.

Father Yang instantly inclined Lexi’s upper body and taps her back so that she could gasp for more air. “Thank God!” He murmurs in relief along with Lexi’s unending coughs.

Lexi could barely see a faint light as she gasps for more air before everything went black, again.

“Chu~? Chuchuruu~?”

Lexi’s brows twitch the moment her mind regained consciousness. Slowly opening her eyes, Lexi’s eyes crossed again caused by the little distance Churu was at — it was as if the cute dumpling was inspecting her facial features thoroughly.

Lexi slowly closes her eyes again as she inhaled and exhaled heavily, “If I were you, keep your distance or else, I’ll eat you… alive.”

“Chu?!” Churu immediately flew to the corner of the room with dismay plastered across her cute little face.

Just as Lexi opens her eyes again, and shifts her gaze on the side, she instantly froze seeing her mother in a shocked state.

‘Churu!!!!’ Lexi shouted inwardly.

“Chichichi~!” Churu giggles resonated on Lexi’s mind which made her veins almost pop due to anger.
