*SELENE's PoV*
My head spun around with what I went through just now. There was nothing that actually happened and still it felt like everything happened. My feelings and emotions did not match my thoughts, like something else was driving me.
His words, the way Channing acted, were something other than him. Did he... Did he confess? Like he took a liking towards me and did not want to like me? Channing told me he liked him. No, he did not tell; he showed it to me. Would it have been so bad for him to just say?
Now that he had left, my rationality was returning and even if I was trying to see him in that light, my mind wasn't exactly convinced that what happened was right.
But I did not push him away. Did that mean I was fine with it? I would have become uncomfortable for sure. I had just adjusted to being around men, and this was the second time Channing had made me this uncomfortable. Even Fang did not make me this uncomfortable with how-so-ever many tricks he had pulled and got closer.
As soon as Fang crossed my mind, I remembered Channing having said Fang was coming around to meet me. Why was he coming here at this time in the first place?
There was one problem that I was yet to recover from, and here came another. Today has really been a long day for me. Like I had seen every spectrum of the emotional rainbow today. I had already met Fang today during the completion of the red task, and that was enough of Fang for one day.
A ping resonated through the silence filled in the room and I checked my mobile to see a mail from my mother. "Great one more problem", I clicked my tongue before checking what was it about -

Selene,
Your to be in-laws have been in the castle for some time now and it is shameless of you to not attend even once in their presence. Well, you have always been an ignorant and useless child since the beginning.
Now that they are heading back, we have kept a little feast in the castle, your presence is summoned. And keep the King and Queen's neck straight for once in your life.
Make sure no one knows of your identity. Though It would only make me happier that you break your word and we put you back in your dark home below the castles.
Dress properly and make your presence before they leave tomorrow.

A vein popped on the side of my forehead. I have been used to my mother's spiteful words, so much my heart was numb to them. But couldn't they have told me earlier so I could have gone to meet my future in-laws. I had only heard that my father-in-law had asked my father to send me out of the castle, but had never met him. On top of that, she did not mention the time for the feast. My mother must have done that deliberately so I don't get to meet them.
It was good that Channing had asked me to take a break for two days. I could visit the castle freely. Not like the King and Queen would let me stay.
Well, that was a problem for tomorrow to face. Right now, the major problem was Fang, who was on his way here, to meet me. Channing phrased it in a way for me to understand, Fang was definitely coming to my house. I don't know how he could step inside Winterwells, but then again, my house was on the outskirts, barely visible from the village.

I had to get out and go somewhere else. I should probably head to my condo, without being seen by the people. That would be huge trouble.
If Fang meets me now, he would know what had happened here. My eyes gazed at the room and not I immediately started putting it back to normal. The carpet was straightened, and I dusted the sofa where Channing had sat. Bringing the room freshener out, I sprayed it everywhere. Fang would find it out, reading my thoughts, but I took my precautions.
When I opened my cupboard for a change of clothes, the ones I was wearing had a tinge of Channing's scent on them, I stopped.
"Wait, a minute!" I exclaimed to myself, "why are you doing this stupid Selene." I tapped my forehead. With so much to think and no one to talk to, I was talking with myself right now. "Why are you hiding this? It is not like you cheated or something." It was like I was covering the trails and the scent in this room, so Fang wouldn't find out. "Nothing happened and even if it would have, Fang's opinion and thoughts don't matter to me."
Angered at my own actions, I went and kicked the carpet back into a folded position. "Stupid, stupid Fang" He was troubling me without even his presence.
Nonetheless, I did not wish to meet Fang right now. Taking out a hoodie and a cap from the cupboard along with a pair of joggers, I wrapped myself in disguise. There was no way I was waiting here and looking forward to meeting Fang. I had another place to live, the condo. I would cover myself and go there so none of the villagers saw me all neat and healthy.
I did not want to meet Fang today. No, I didn't want to meet him ever again in my life.
I took my mobile, turned the lights off, making everything pitch black, and left the bedroom to step into the creaking lobby. This house was made of wooden planks and the lobby had some loose ones. The darkness of the night and surroundings took me some time to adjust to the lack of light.
As I stepped out of the broken main door, happily ready to leave, my elbow was jerked as I stumbled to one side of the door frame. My body was pushed against the wooden house's wall.
"So much disguise to meet me." Before my eyes could adjust to the darkness, I recognised the deep voice. It was Fang. Stupid Fang. It was like he was waiting for me to come out. His untamed smile slipped on his lips as he said, "If you come to meet me like this, people would mistake us to be some kind of forbidden affair"

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
