Kate looked at Xie Yuansheng with disbelief. How could he say that to her when she really wanted him to spend time with her alone. Giving a small treat to her friends was something she had only fabricated. Now if she agreed to Feng Xinying's idea, she would be trapped. So she had to quickly think of a way to call the friends and tell them that she was giving a party. It was extremely annoying but then she had no other chance. With a nervous expression she replied, "O- okay."

Xie Yuansheng smiled and said cheerfully, "Done! Then tomorrow you can call them all at Feng Mansion at 7PM. We will have the best dishes prepared just for you and your friends."

Feng Xinying also smiled and continued eating her breakfast. Kate was looking for an opportunity to talk with Xie Yuansheng by hoping the Feng Xinying might leave them but she kept sitting on the table until Kate was there. Finally Kate got very annoyed and left in a huff. But before leaving she went to Xie Yuansheng's side. She stood there with clasped hands and smiled sweetly. Her dimples appeared and made her look cuter. "I look forward to spending my celebration with you tomorrow."

Xie Yuansheng pursed his lips and nodded.

After bowing to Feng Xinying, Kate left. She had to do a lot of work out of which the first one was to invite her friends at the Feng Mansion. All the way back home she wondered why had Feng Xinying thought of giving a party at her place. Was it because she wanted to keep an eye on her and Xie Yuansheng?

When Feng Xinying heard Kate's invitation to take Xie Yuansheng out, she knew that now was the time to stop this nonsense. So she instead invited Kate to have the party at her place.

After having breakfast she went to her bedroom.

Kate couldn't wait for the next day. So what if the party was going to be held in Feng Mansion. She would spend all the time with Xie Yuansheng and that too in Feng Xinying's presence. That would be a double blow to her esteem. She would insult her in front of her friends and then everyone would know that she is the one who loved Xie Yuansheng and that Feng Xinying was a third wheel.

So as soon as she went back home, once again she scanned her wardrobe and started choosing from them. After choosing a sexy white colored tube dress, she called her friends and invited them over. All of them agreed to come since she had told them that her sister's friend Feng Xinying was giving the party for her. They were feeling happy that they would get to see the famous celebrity Feng Xinying.

When she was choosing a dress, her mother came in her room. She asked her, "What is the occasion that you are looking so chirpy?"

Kate didn't tell her anything about her party. She lied, "I have to go for a friend's birthday party."

"Oh!" smiled her mother and left.

Next day

It was evening and Kate reached the venue much before time. She could not believe her eyes when she saw that the Mansion was beautifully decorated in so many lights. She was mesmerized. All the trees were lit and so were the pathway that led into the house. As she walked in she heard soft music coming from the lampposts in which speakers were installed. She blushed at the thought that Xie Yuansheng must have done all this for her because he was the one who insisted on having the party here. She couldn't wait to meet him. It meant that he had feelings for her. She rushed inside the mansion. The main hall smelled of pleasant lavender. Her mood uplifted.

Wearing her white dress that clung to her body and white high heels, she was looking cute with her hair tied in a neat bun. She darted her eyes to look for Xie Yuansheng. Spotting a servant, she asked, "Where is Young Master?"

The servant politely asked her to sit down as the couple was still dressing up. She cringed when she heard 'couple' but sat down nonetheless. It was almost half an hour that she waited but none of them came out. Her friends started coming in one by one. They congratulated her and all of them were simply fascinated by all the lighting and décor. They started telling her how lucky she was to know Feng Xinying.

All her friends had come but the hosts weren't there. She became slightly nervous. Suddenly one of her friends pointed on the top of the staircase. "Oh, look! There comes my Diva, my fairy!" He was so starstruck that he literally drooled when he saw the beautiful Feng Xinying who was wearing an azure silk gown with a deep V-shaped neck showing the outline of her supple bosoms and which was slit until mid-thigh. She was glittering in diamond necklace and earrings. She was coming down the stairs hand-in-hand with Xie Yuansheng who was wearing a black suit. He looked extremely handsome and together they looked like a royal couple. All of them were awe-struck except Kate.

They came down and Feng Xinying greeted all of them. All of Kate's friends left her and surrounded Feng Xinying and Xie Yuansheng.

Kate was shocked. She thought, so this was her plan – to show me down in front of my friends. She was very angry. She pushed her way between her friends and went to face them. "Hello Brother Xie Yuansheng!" she said as she held his hand.

"Hello Kate," replied Xie Yuansheng pulling his hand away. "Did you like it?" he asked.

Kate nodded and said, "Yes, I love it!" Then she looked at her friends and said, "Brother Xie Yuansheng did it all for me." She was trying to convey that he did so much for her because he had feelings for her.

Xie Yuansheng frowned and said, "No, it was Feng Xinying who arranged it all." I only sat there and ate peanuts.

Kate looked at him and felt very embarrassed. She could hear her friends sniggering at her.

Feng Xinying smiled prettily and added, "Oh, it is nothing. It is a small gift for Kate. After all she will be going to America soon."

"No! I will be going to America after two months," clarified Kate.

Ignoring her Feng Xinying smiled again and said everyone to have snacks and enjoy.

As the party progressed, all of Kate's friends started having fun and they started dancing to the beats of the music but Kate decided to stick to Xie Yuansheng at all times. She was feeling jealous of Feng Xinying because not only she looked beautiful, but because even her friends thought highly of her.

Feng Xinying was seeing all her friends personally while she wasn't moving an inch. Her gaze was following her. It looked that even Xie Yuansheng was under her spell. All he did was to look at Feng Xinying nonstop. She tried talking to him but he wasn't paying attention. She was now seething.

Feng Xinying came to them and said, "Kate, why aren't you dancing with your friends?"

Kate was already fuming in anger. She retorted in a loud voice, "Why? So that you may have Brother Xie Yuansheng all by yourself? You know that he wants to spend his time with me because I am younger, cuter and livelier than you are. But every time he wants to do that, you just keep coming in between. I know that the two of you will soon breakup because he calls you "Miss Xinying". So why don't you give up this pretense and admit that you are no good."

"Kate! W- what are you talking about?" said Feng Xinying as she stepped back. "I have given this party for you and this is what you are telling me? Why are you talking about my husband?" Feng Xinying made a sad face.

All her friends started talking about how bitchy Kate was.

Kate continued, "I know the likes of you. You bitch-" Before she could complete her sentence, someone kept hand on her shoulders, turned her around and gave her a resounding tight slap. Stunned Kate turned to look at that person with her hand on her face that was now burning. "Keira!" said Kate, stunned as to how come she was there. On Keira's side Xie Shengjun was standing and when she looked behind them behind them, her eyes became wide with fear.

Feng Xinying started crying and Xie Yuansheng enveloped her in his arms bringing her close to his chest.
