Xie Yuansheng flipped the pages of the contract and showed her the dotted lines. She picked up the pen to sign. She was just about to sign when he said to her, "Won't you take a look at the rest of its content? Don't blame me later for anything."

Feng Xinying put her pen down and looked at him. She felt like a fool for not even looking at the papers out of her nervousness. Before reading the papers, she told him, "You are pressuring me so much. There is absolutely no other option left now. What am I supposed to do? Will you change a word in the contract if I asked you to?"

"Well, it depends. If you have a reasonable clause or terms, I may consider," he replied with a shrug. His eyes were as cold as his demeanor.

Feng Xinying didn't want anyone to know that she had married the CEO of her own company, otherwise, it would become a huge scandal in the media. Things would come out in the open that her father in his will didn't choose her as the heir of the company, and that was why she was being reduced to become the wife of the current CEO. It would be such an insult.

Moreover, marrying her stepmother's son would be such a stupid thing. The media would rip her into pieces for being the most insensitive person in the world. They would paint her as the woman who would do anything to keep the company with her, even if it meant marrying her stepmother's son. It would look so ridiculous. She shuddered when she thought of this.

Then she thought, why couldn't she just get a divorce after marriage? Once he would give her the CEO's position, she would divorce him! That was the perfect plan – marry him now, keep it a secret, and then when the job was done, divorce him. Her lips almost curled up, but she contained her emotions so that Xie Yuansheng didn't see the glimmer of hope and joy in her eyes.

Without flipping the pages of the contract, she looked up at him and said, "I will marry you on one condition."

Xie Yuansheng leaned forward, interest apparent in his eyes. "Tell me."

"Our marriage will stay a secret in front of others. The contract cannot be shown to anyone," she said.

"Agreed," he replied with a smile. "Anything else?"

"Yes. I will sleep in a separate room from yours," she continued.

Xie Yuansheng found it amusing, but he agreed to that too. "Okay."

"You will not touch me inappropriately," she said.

"Okay…"

"In public, we will maintain our distance. You will not claim me as your wife in public," she added.

Xie Yuansheng pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. The temperature of the room suddenly dropped to sub zero.

Feng Xinying bit her lip as she felt fear running down her spine, but she had to maintain her sanctity if she wanted to divorce him.

"If that is the case, you are not allowed to behave inappropriately outside," he said taciturnly.

"I can take responsibility for my actions, but I cannot guarantee other people's behavior…" she tried to reason.

"Fair enough. I am there for other people," he replied in a way as if he would kill anyone who would even dare to touch her.

"What is the duration of the contract?" she asked.

"It is written there in the first page. It is three months," he replied.

"Also, there is a clause in the contract that states that you have to serve as my secretary for a period of three months if you want to take this position," said Xie Yuansheng, looking at her as though he was trying to read her mind.

"What?" Feng Xinying was surprised. A top model like her, who was being thrown modeling assignment jobs every other day, would be reduced to being a secretary?

"I will continue to do my modeling," she replied firmly. She couldn't accept being his secretary for the time the contract was valid.

"No, that is not a condition, and it won't be allowed as long as you are married to me," he replied quietly, as if saying 'don't mess with me'.

"But I cannot be reduced as your secretary," she replied, annoyed at his illogical condition.

"Oh! You will be my head secretary. Don't worry," he replied with a smile.

She gritted her teeth. She simply didn't want to compromise on her career.

"When you will become the CEO of the company, do you think you will be able to continue with your modeling profession?" he said as though he had read her mind.

She was startled at her stupid insistence and mentally smacked herself. She just lowered her head and said, "It would be such a huge scandal if anyone got to know that I married my stepbrother."

"I am not Xie Weihui's son," said Xie Yuansheng, now looking at her with a lot of attention.
