Into The Zombie World Chapter 219

"The Round World!"
"Round what? What kind of name is that?" Burge shook his fist to ease the pain a bit as he ridiculed the ridiculous naming sense.
'The tail of a mutated monitor lizard? That lizard must be freakin huge. Anyways, I should be careful around that ball.'
"Hmmph! I pity your ignorance!"
"You might as well die!" Mario swung the ball towards Burge without warning.
Burge was able to dodge the attack but he got flustered when he heard a loud boom behind him.
BOOM!
He looked back and saw the ground he was standing at earlier was now reduced to broken rubbles.
'Shit!'
Cold sweats started to form in Burge's forehead as he stared at the broken grounds.
He then realized that when that shot-put ball was thrown towards Damian previously, Mario must have lowered his strength considerably.
Mario smirked at Burge's nervous expression as he retrieved the shot-put ball using the string that was attached to it.
He rubbed the ball in a circular motion to get rid of the dust that had attached to it. The ball becomes shiny all of a sudden as if it was just oiled by the most premium graded oil.
Without any more pretense, Mario threw the ball again, and this time he even went and closed in himself.
Burge dodge again but he suddenly saw a fist flying towards his face. He wasn't able to react in time and the fist landed right on his nose.
He staggered back a few steps before regaining his balance, however, Mario also followed suit.
His nose was bleeding profusely and his view started spinning due to the fist that he 'warmly' received.
As his senses returned to normal, he suddenly saw Mario staring straight into his eyes. He felt goosebumps crawling in his spine as he saw Mario suddenly smashed the shot-put ball towards his stomach in close range.

Mario grinned from ear to ear as he shouted, "Got ya! Eat this!"
Boom!
Burge's eyes went wide in pain as he felt a tremendous force assaulting his stomach. His body flew backward like a rocket before stopping on a huge tree after smashing into it.
Burge was still dizzy but he still forced himself to get up.
Blurgh*!
Suddenly, a mouthful of blood was thrown out of his mouth as he clenched his aching stomach.
Ptsui!
He spat the remaining blood lingering inside his mouth as he swiped the ones leaking out of his mouth with his arms.
And instead of worrying about himself, Burge even managed to smile as he glanced at Mario and the trace of blood that was left on his sword. 'Any second now!'
Meanwhile, Damian became scared when he saw Burge getting pummeled by Mario.
"Burge!"
Upon seeing that, he immediately turned his body to help his friend. However, right at that moment, a spinning discuss was suddenly thrown towards his fist.
"Ho. Ho. Ho. Stay here with me Damian-san!"
Damian glared at Dario as he was forced to halt in order to deflect the incoming discuss.
Using his thick and robust arm, Damian swatted the discuss like a fly.
The discuss that Dario named as 'The Flat World' was also a weapon that came from the same monitor lizard that Mario had gotten his shot-put ball. It came from the skull of the monitor lizard and was polished like a discuss by Dario himself.
Though it came from the same mutated animal, the strength of the wielder was not the same. On the other hand, Burge and Damian's strength doesn't differ that much. Hence the reason why he could swat Dario's weapon with such ease.

Nevertheless, he was still held up and that caused him to be more enraged. And at that same moment, he saw Burge being hit by a shot-put ball. This time, the hit was harder and Burge's body even flew like a rocket towards the tree. This scene caused his body to grow cold and his face became contorted in anger.
"Since you want to die so badly, then so be it!" A menacing expression surfaced on Damian's face as the surrounding temperature suddenly seemed to become colder.
He gripped his sword tightly and dashed towards the laughing Dario with much vigor and hate.
Swoosh!
Damian no longer cared for the sword's durability as he wanted the fight to end early so he could help his friend Burge.
Dario saw the change in Damian's attack pattern and he couldn't help but widen his eyes in surprise.
He retrieved 'The Flat World' immediately and didn't waste any more time as he used it to block the incoming sword strike.
The 'The Flat World' traveled and bypassed Damian instantly. Dario held it with his hands tightly and like a shield, he raised it to block Damian's sword who was already flying towards his neck.
Ting*!
The sound of metal clashing with metal resounded as Damian's sword struck the discuss that acted as Dario's shield.
The discuss vibrated upon impact as well as Dario's arm. However, the sheer strength used by Damian on that attack resulted in the sword breaking into two.
Even with the sword breaking, Damian didn't stop as he retracted it immediately. At the same moment, his left fist was also thrown towards Dario's 'The Flat World'.
Bang!
Dario felt like a hammer just descended on the 'The Flat World' that he was holding. His whole body was shaking and his arm became numb for a second.
He was still in the process of recovery when another fist was suddenly thrown towards him. His numb arm couldn't take it anymore as it slowly loosened its grip on the 'The Flat World'.
Damian smirked all of a sudden after seeing the precious opportunity finally arise.
…
Meanwhile, in a corner not far from where the fight was taking place, a silhouette could be seen peeking from the bushes. The silhouette that looks like a man was trying his best not to get noticed by the ones who were fighting in the distance.
The silhouette observed the fight intently.
No one knew what if he's a friend or a foe.
But one thing was for certain, he will act when the time arises.

Demon-slayer knight Hector Aeronwen became an enemy of all humankind after saving a dying half-demon girl out of pity. Little did he know, his impulsive action had forever changed the course of the world and the fates of many. This is the story about Hector's desperate quest and the beginning of the demoness whose destiny is to shake the world to its very foundation. Author's note: At the risk of spoiling too much of this story, I want to reveal a bit about the core idea behind this work of fiction. I set out with the idea to write a story in the perspective of the second in command of a demon lord, which then would be followed up with large scale kingdom buildings and warring states. But then I asked myself: what past do they have between them for the Demon Lord to have so much faith in her second in command, and for him to be so loyal to such a horrible being? So this is my attempt at writing the origin of those two, who, while hated by all races in the world, still have each other as the only confidant to entrust their life to. If you are like me and want to see where this premise, with a vague destination in mind, will lead to, please have a read and give me your valued feedback!

8 193Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
