Into The Zombie World Chapter 197

At this moment, the two factions' high table members were busy searching for the beheader.
The town was big and their search was bound to be a long one. Aside from the clue that the beheader likes to behead zombies' heads, they didn't have any single clue.
Their move of searching for the Beheader was a hasty one, but nevertheless, the two faction leaders still deemed it as something very important.
The two knew that the Beheader was likely a person or zombie that had just arrived in the place. The number of level two people in their respective groups are equal in numbers, if one manages to poach the Beheader by chance, that would break the balance and a mini-war is likely to occur.
If it was a zombie, whoever manages to kill it first would still be able to harvest its apocalypse virus and they could strengthen their members with it.
While searching, the two groups must be wary of their surroundings as they not only need to watch out for the Beheader, they also need to watch out for other dangers such as the opposing group, the hybrids, and the zombies.
At the east side of the town, two figures could be seen walking side by side. Their steps were careful yet firm and calm. The two were weary of their surroundings that are full of trees as they walked along the grassy path.
Suddenly, they heard a rustling noise beside them causing them to stop in their tracks. The two figures were the Pink Gang's leader and the weakest level two-member, Katrina.
Katrina saw the leader raising a hand as a signal for her to be careful. Her body instantly halted and waited for the leader's next command.
"Stay here, I'll scout what caused that noise." The leader said with a low voice, as if afraid of alerting what it was that caused a ruckus.

The leader tiptoed towards a tree and climbed it expertly.
After a while, the leader came back to Katrina's side and said, "There's a mutated wild boar in there. You still didn't have a strong mutated weapon right? Let's kill that boar first and extract its tusk to make a dagger."
Katrina nodded her head, for her, no matter what the task was, as long as it came from the leader, she would gladly do it.
A slight blush could be seen on her face as she thought of the leader's attentiveness towards her. She didn't think that the leader would help her kill a boar just so she could have its tusk.
She readily agreed and said, "Thank you 'Missus'!"
"Don't mention it!" The leader said.
The two then went and surrounded the mutated boar. The leader was holding a long blade that has spikes protruding on the back while Katrina was holding a sword that had an obvious crack on its blade.
The mutated boar was quite big. Its tusk that points upwards was similarly massive. The hairs on its body can still be perceived even in the distance due to the thickness of each strand.
The boar was busy eating a blade of grass, it didn't notice that a figure was already creeping behind it.
The Pink Gang's leader slowly tiptoed towards the busy boar.
Swoosh!
The leader didn't waste any more time striking the boar's legs in an instant.
The sword was pretty sharp as it managed to cut off the boar's rear legs in an instant.
What followed next was another strike from the leader. The sword was stabbed on the boar's stomach and after the leader pulled the sword out, guts and intestine could be seen being pulled along with it. The intestine got wrapped around the spikes of the sword.

The boar could only squeak and struggle as it waited for its demise. It didn't take long for it to drop to the ground, its breathing also stopped, indicating that it was either dead or had fainted.
The leader was careful, using the spiky sword, the leader thrust it forcefully to the boar's head.
The boar was finished in an instant that Katrina didn't even have the opportunity to help.
'As expected of Missus!" Katrina said inside her heart, her admiration towards the leader just continues to grow every second.
'This boar was easy to kill, It looks like the animal also has different strengths according to their mutation.' The leader thought.
"Come here Katrina, help me extract this boar's tusk." The leader while beckoning for Katrina to come over.
The leader then used the sword to pull out the boar's tusk. With the tusk's sharpness, it was ideal for them to use it as a dagger.
It already has a sharp point to all they need to do was to sharpen its edges and make a handle and it would be good to go.
The leader cut a thick branch from the tree around and sculpted it amateurishly to form the dagger's handle. The leader then forcefully inserted the tusk on the sculpted handle and in an instant, the dagger was already finished.
There are two tusks so they made two daggers with it. The handle was pretty crude but Katrina still accepted it with all her heart.
Luckily, they found a wet stone nearby so they immediately used it to sharpen the edges of the tusk.
The leader thought that boar's meat would be wasted here. However, Katrina proposed that they should at least take a small portion of it to add to their food resources.
The leader agreed, thinking that it was the best course of action. Katrina went and instantly cut off one of the boar's legs. She couldn't help but marvel at the sharpness of the dagger she was using.
The two had backpacks on them but it was already full, so instead of putting it inside, the leader went and found a vine. They then used the vine to tie the boar's legs on the leader's waist.
After a while, the two continue on their quest of searching for the mysterious Beheader.

Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.
