The snake's escape was forcefully halted as the rope tied on the harpoon straightened to hold the snake in place.

The snake hung with the rope and the harpoon tying it in place. It tried to pull its head up to bite the rope, unfortunately, it's sharp fangs only bounced when it hit the surface of the rope

The rope was made from the Peak weapon, Weapon of Changes after all.

The snake squirmed with all its might trying to get rid of the harpoon and the rope.

Suddenly, it's slitted eyes shone with resolution as it decided to bite its own tail off. Seeing the decisiveness of the snake, Nile bulged his eyes in surprise. He didn't expect for it to try and cut its own tail off just to flee.

However, he wouldn't let such a thing happen easily. It won't be good for him.

Before the snake could manage to bite its tail, Nile hurriedly pulled the rope up. At this time, the snake was busy and it doesn't have much strength left after struggling for too long. He didn't face any strong obstruction as he pulled it up.

The snake realized what he was doing so it frantically tried to chew off its tail with all its might.

The snake endured the pain as it tried to mince its own tail off. Finally, with one last bite, the tail was finally cut, freeing the snake from the bind.

The snake produced a human-like smirk after knowing that it could now finally escape. However, it was also at this moment that it noticed a red glow on the corner of its eyes. The snake then noticed that the rope and the harpoon deformed before transforming into a long spear.

As it was busy chewing off its tail, it didn't notice that it had already arrived in front of Nile.

Seeing the smirk on the snake's face, Nile was taken aback for a second. He did not expect for it to produce that kind of emotion, well it was a level two animal, after all, maybe it's intelligence had already evolved to such a degree. It was not that surprising considering that he has two animals who acted more or less the same.

As the tail was cut off, Nile hurriedly transformed the harpoon and the rope into a long spear, that was over two meters tall. Its blade was as wide as his palm.

Putsik!

He didn't waste any more time as he plunged the spear directly into the snake's mouth. The spear successfully bypassed the two fangs of the snake, tearing its throat, piercing all the way to the back of its head. Coincidentally, the seventh dot pattern below the head was where the spear pierces through. The snake was killed in an instant, it's eyes were still opened wide in alarm.

The snake was heavy, Nile could barely lift it up with the spear. The branch he was standing on even has the risk of breaking apart.

Hurriedly, Nile stored the snake's enormous body, filling the System Storage Space to the brim.

After killing the snake, he rested for a bit before he continued upwards, to collect more Apocalypse Berry.

After more than half an hour, Nile finally decided to return. The Apocalypse Berry tree has barely any fruits left after he sweeps it clean from harvestable berries.

At the topmost branch, he surveyed the area around the tree. He couldn't believe what he just saw. Instead of tall buildings, what bathed his eyes were green leaves all over the place.

He recalled that yesterday, he was still able to see some buildings around, but right now, all he could see was green trees everywhere. He marveled at the terrifying growth rate of the tree. He couldn't help but have shivers thinking of the possibility that the trees might evolve to have sentients in the future.

He shook his head to dismiss those crazy thoughts. The System didn't warn about them, so he guessed that it might not be possible. He calmed his chaotic thoughts as he climbed down the enormous Apocalypse Berry Tree.

He decided to put his guard more this time. Based on what he knew so far, the System Map could only detect living things 20 meters above him while 100+ meters around with him at the center. He didn't know if it was also the case underground but he did

Arriving below, he noticed that the two animals were snuggled together right in the cave's entrance.

Noticing his arrival, the two hurriedly stood up as if to welcome his arrival.

They had already eaten breakfast so they didn't linger any longer in the area. Nile hops on Maximo's back as they went and search for zombies around the town.

He gave Maximo and Croco one Apocalypse Berry each. The two eat the berry in delight. Nile was even surprised that Croco also eats the berry. Usually, he would ignore the fruits and would focus on eating his favorite innards.

Their food supply was now more or less secured, so they could focus their attention on searching zombies for now.

Using the System Map, it didn't take long for Nile to spot a level one zombie ahead of them. He urges Maximo to go there as Croco followed just behind them.

As they neared the area, Croco suddenly hastened his pace as he went ahead of Maximo. His body blurred for a moment as he directly appeared behind the level one zombie.

His movement was swift and silent like a falling leaf. The zombie didn't even notice that a crocodile had already snuck in behind it.

In an instant, Croco's front leg extended towards the zombie, the folded blade on his leg was immediately retracted, aiming for the zombie's neck.

Putsik!

The sound of flesh getting cut reached Nile's ears as the zombie's head slowly slid down from its neck.

The zombie has the stats of 14+, however, Croco instantly ended its meager life, with a slash.
