Into The Zombie World Chapter 173

At the back of the two escaping hybrids, Nile's Katana and Kriegsmesser suddenly vanished from the dead hybrid heads.
As it was a hassle picking them up, he stored them inside the System Space. His hands then glowed with red as the Weapon of Change transformed itself into a ring to fit on his fingers. At the same time, the two swords were summoned and materialized in both of his hands.
Nile didn't let the hybrids get too far as he threw the two swords together.
Two hybrid heads got pierced by the Kriegsmesser and Katana causing them to stumble towards the ground. The same with the previous two, one hybrid fell with a smile on his face, while the other fell with a pained and terrified expression.
'Five down, two to go!' Nile said inside his head as the Weapon of Change transformed itself again into a long sword.
Swoosh!
His body blurred and disappeared from the spot he just stood. A few milliseconds had passed as Nile's body reappeared at the side of the running hybrid.
Nile stared at him and matched his running pace.
The hybrid felt his body hairs stood to end. And just as he turned his head to the side, he saw Nile's terrifying eyes.
His body shivered from fright and froze for a second as his steps suddenly halted in mid-air.
However, his body had still not reached the ground when his head was separated from his body.
Red electric sparks appeared on the hybrid's eyes as his body stiffly fell to the ground, away from his head.
…
Seeing that the hybrid was about to fall because of its own carelessness, Nile hurriedly brandished the long sword towards the hybrid's neck.

Red electric sparks were left behind as the sword instantly severed the neck of the hybrid.
'Six over seven!' He counted inside his head.
It didn't take a minute for Nile to finish six Level One° hybrids in an instant. The only one remaining now would be the Level One° hybrid who escaped first.
The hybrid had still not gotten that far. The last hybrid that Nile had executed was going towards the same direction as the Level One° hybrid who escaped first.
That's also the reason why he purposely left that one as he could just kill it on passing while going towards the one who escapes first.
After executing that hybrid, Nile didn't stop his movement and instead pivoted even more to chase the Level One° who was trying to escape.
It didn't take long for him to arrive beside the Level One° hybrid.
Swoosh!
He brandished his sword from above trying to make the same move twice. However, the hybrid was able to dodge by a hairbreadth by stopping suddenly.
The hybrid was alert from the start. He knew how fast and strong a Level Two° being is. He already experienced being trashed by one on the Town Hall. He could only do his best to dodge and escape for now.
The hybrid rejoiced after seeing that he successfully evaded Nile's attack. He thought that maybe the man before him had only evolved not too long ago. His speed could still be avoided by someone like him.
However, his joy didn't last long as the moment the sword brushed past his nose, he didn't notice but a foot was also coming towards him.
BOOM!
A deafening sound echoed as the hybrid was hit squarely on the nose. Due to the force from that kick, his body was bent backward as he flew back towards his dead companions.

Traces of pinkish blood was left on the air as the hybrid fell to the ground. His body got dragged to the ground, leaving blood marks as the trace.
His face had three holes in it as a deep footprint was pasted on his face. His head was dizzy and disoriented from the foot's impact. The moment he got hit, he knew that he was already done for.
Still, he tried his best to get up and escape from the clutch of the level two human.
Panic and grief were plastered on his face as he tried his best not to lose consciousness.
He then recalled why they had gone out tonight. To hunt some stray humans and make them their meal.
'Fuck hunting for humans. I'm the one being hunted right now!' This phrase was all over the hybrid's head.
As he was about to get up from the fall, he suddenly felt another sharp pain on his head. A moment later, his consciousness died down along with the ceasing of his breathing.
Nile pulled the long sword he created from the hybrid's head. The battle didn't last for more than two minutes. It was not a surprise as he was already a Level Two° being after all. Not to mention, he was even fully equipped with top tier weapons and even armors.
He picked up the hybrids mutated weapons and stored them inside the Storage Space as he went back towards the area where he left Maximo.
Currently, Maximo was still munching on his almond nuts snacks happily. It was on Nile's order that the carabao didn't help. He was afraid that just like what happened last time, someone might sneak in again. Maximo was his precaution from that scenario.
"Max, finish that batch already and evolve. Don't tell me you'll evolve on another day?"
'Come on you have to be kidding me.'
'Will it be another guarding session again? Well, as long as the one attacking is zombies or hybrids, it would be good.'
He glanced inside for a moment and saw that Croco had still not finished his evolution. He knows he was hasty, but in this case who would not?
He only faced one Level One° for now, what if another batch came and all of them are Level Two°? That would be quite disastrous for him.
He sat beside the carabao munching the almond nuts before leaning on its bloated belly. He then checked the System Map to see if there are other stray hybrids that are approaching them.
However, what he saw was quite different from his expectation.

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course.
