Into The Zombie World Chapter 171

After saying the polite permission request, Nile didn't waste any more time as he immediately hacked their heads away from their body.
As their heads slid from their neck, he noticed a movement from inside the building.
Sounds of hoofs deeply stepping on the ground entered his ears. He took a peek inside and as he was about to enter the building to see it clearly, an enraged Maximo suddenly appeared on his sight.
Maximo's mouth was curled into a snarl as he slowly inspects his surroundings arrogantly. On his left horn, a hybrid was hanging with its gut pierced through like a skewered meat. Blood drips on his horn as his clothe armor was dyed by the pink blood of the hybrids he just slays.
At the tail on his back, traces of meat paste was plastered all over the head of his sledgehammer tail. From that alone, it could be inferred that a hybrid's head was definitely smashed and was reduce into puddles of meat by that sledgehammer of his.
'How dare they interrupt my meal!' A trace of disdain was planted on his face after seeing the lifeless bodies on the ground. He shook his head to get rid of the hybrid hanging on his horn. One last time, he shook his whole body like a dog to get rid of the pinkish blood that dyed the clothe armor and some of his metallic hide.
The instant his body stopped shaking, he immediately looks towards his master Nile.
Instantly, the arrogant and smug look on his face was now replaced with an ass-licking expression. His tongue was stuck out like a hyperventilating dog, as he tried to lick his master's face.
Nile pushed Maximo's mouth that was full of dripping salivas away. He knew what's this ass-licking carabao planned to do.

'Gib me more food!'
Nile patted the carabao's head as the Weapon of Change transformed back into a ring that automatically slid on his two fingers.
"How's Croc?" He asked the thing that he was worried about. If Croco's evolution was interrupted, that would be quite a waste.
Maximo straightened his body like an erect soldier as he patted his chest as if recommending his self. He boasted about how he defended Croco all by himself, of course at the last moment, a pitiful look appeared on his face as he tried to extort some food from his master.
"Tsk! This is definitely the last one. And why haven't you evolved yet after eating those many almond nuts?" He said as he handed another batch of almond nuts towards the sly carabao.
After eating those many almond nuts, Maximo still hasn't triggered his evolution. It even had the gall to ask for more. He no longer knew what he should do. He expected for his two animals to evolve at the same time.
Alas… his expectation was shattered seeing Maximo here. Well, he didn't feel regret over it for long though, as he knew that without Maximo defending the turf, Croco's evolution would definitely be interrupted.
He went inside the building to check the evolving Croco. At this moment, the room had become messier except the corner where Croco was currently lying at. It seems that Maximo had defended his friend, Croco very well.
Croco's eyes were still trembling a little as if he was trying to wake up from a nightmare. At this moment, Nile had observed that his body was excreting dark slimy fluids. It was only a couple of minutes since he left but Croco's size had definitely shrunk by at least a fifth compared to before.

He nodded his head in relief and satisfaction after seeing that everything was fine.
He took a glance at the System Map and another batch was fast approaching. They must have been attracted by the noises they made earlier.
This time, instead of going towards them, Nile didn't leave the building and instead accompanied Maximo at the entrance. If he leaves again and some hybrids manage to sneak in here and Maximo couldn't hold them off, he is afraid that something terrible would definitely happen again.
While waiting for the new batch of hybrids to be slaughtered, he inspected the System Logs to see what we're those System prompts earlier.

The list goes on as he arrived at the last group of hybrids that he had beheaded.
He was surprised to find that killing hybrids could earn him some apocalypse points and stats increment.
With this, he will become even more motivated to kill the hybrids. What he finds regretful though is that unlike from killing zombies, he could only earn half less of the stats and apocalypse points by killing hybrids.
'Well, this was definitely better than nothing!' Nile thought as he felt excited all of a sudden. It seems that he had yet another source of income from now on.
He killed a total of ten Level One° hybrids including the first that he met on the road. He also killed a Level Two° hybrid, the female from before while Maximo killed three hybrids in total.
All in all, what was listed in the System Logs was a total of thirteen Level One° hybrids and one Level Two° hybrid.
A total of 0.825 was added to his Constitution, Will, and Energy while a total of 42.5 was added to his Apocalypse Points.
Currently, his total stats were now at 25.125 while his Apocalypse Points are 1033.5 in total. Only a little more and he can already buy the Level Two top long-range weapon.
'System, what's the upper limit of stats before a human or a zombie could evolve into a Level Three being?' He inquired inside his head.
[Answering the Host, the upper stats limit of a Level Two° being is... ]

The Martyrs: the Generation that Burns
“Perhaps we are indeed the main characters of the story, but who is to say we are not the Galactic Republic in the prequel --- No matter how many victories we seize or how many foes we slay, our fate has been sealed from the very beginning.” --- KR043. Apostle of the Goddess
A disappointed man dreams of leaving the confines of Earth and living adventures in fantastic realms...Suddenly, his wish is granted... Albeit in a far different way from what he could have expected. An isekai genre story with a few elements from LitRPG. The overall tone will be jumping back and forth from light to dark. Expect a lot of references to anime, manga, games, etc.It is written in first-person view and will contain a side-story using a "real-life" character. Initially, the MC will be writing the story as a true journal, so the prologue and first chapters may appear a mess of things that already happened, journal entries, and afterthoughts. A few chapters in, it will change into a normal, first-person manner retelling of what happened (storywise the character "Records" what happened to him). This is a side project of mine, so I will be uploading a few chapters per month. Chapters may have a severe difference in length (albeit I will try to maintain them around 3k), but expect the overall monthly word count to be not less than 15k words.Author recommendation, if you intend to follow the story, read the new updates once a month (counting from the day the first chapter is uploaded). Content Warning: I do intend to include a few disturbing moments to emphasize the darkness of the human (and other beings) nature, so please consider that even though some chapters (especially the starting ones) are kinda like a comedy routine.
