Into The Zombie World Chapter 142

In a fight between a Level Two° being, Level One°'s can hardly do anything.
They are just cannon fodder.
At least, that's what Katrina thinks.
Her subordinates knew of her thought process, hence the reason why they are not trying to be a hero and would only approach the zombie if it was safe for them.
However, greed took over on one of their comrades and the result of that greed was his brain turning into a smoothie.
"Encircle that bitch." Is what Katrina would always say.
It's already been a few minutes, and the death count for their team has now reached 5 people.
Katrina would only attack if she ever saw a safe play.
For her, it doesn't matter how many cannon fodders die. They are cannon fodders for a reason.
What matters for her is to obtain the Apocalypse Virus and bring it back to the base.
They have numerous Level One° survivors but only a handful were Level Two°, including her and their leader. A Level One° dying, wouldn't affect the balance between the two factions.
Every day, survivors from other villages would arrive and take shelter inside their base. For her, there's an endless supply of Level One° so why bother to preserve their life? As long as their Level Two° humans didn't decrease, it would be fine.
Katrina took another dagger from one of the corpses around her. Three long and bloody wounds could be seen on her stomach. It extended from above her lower abdomen towards her rib area. Fortunately, it wasn't deep, or else, her intestines would surely spill out.
On the other side, the zombie had also obtained a lot of wounds. Some minor and some deadly, for a human that is. Just like the case of its heart before.
It had already been pierced but the zombie was still alive and kicking.

It's because the zombies no longer need their organs for them to live. It was all controlled by the Apocalypse Virus inside their head.
Blood loss? What is that?
Heart? Can we eat it?
That's also the reason why Katrina uttered the word 'idiot' at that time. That man was not only greedy, he was also an idiot for believing that the zombie is already finished, just because of a pierced heart.
"I said encircle her!" Katrina felt enraged that her subordinates didn't listen to her this time.
"Can't you see that its leg is already injured?" She urges. To be honest, she was also afraid. She just recalled how impulsive she was for coming here with only her, as the Level Two° human.
It seems that she herself was clouded by greed too.
It can't be helped though. Of all the Level Two° humans amongst the Pink Surge Faction, she was the weakest. In every meeting, she would always feel inferior around those strong people.
If not for the gratitude that she felt for the leader, Katrina might have long escaped this hellish place.
Her nose was fuming with anger as her subordinates gulped a mouthful of saliva due to nervousness.
Slowly, they closed in towards the injured zombie in full alert. Every one of them had wounds that came from the zombie's nails or other attacks.
As for Katrina's attitude, they are already aware of it. It's not that they didn't want to disobey her, it's just because they can't.
They are just Level One° humans, where would they go if they decided to argue with Katrina? One of the upper echelons of their base?
Food? They could search for it, no problem. There's plenty of that around.
With the trees mutating and even becoming more nutritious and delicious, the survivors no longer felt the urgency to search for food.

Instead, the reason they are unwilling to depart from the Pink Surge Faction was because of the low supply of the Apocalypse Virus.
Woosh!
It seems that the zombie got bored by their dilly-dallying, as it dashed and attacked them first.
Even with its injured leg and body, the zombie was still agile compared to those Level One° humans.
A survivor raises his sword in a bid to parry the zombie's nail attack. However, he underestimated or he forgot that what he was facing right now was a Level Two° zombie.
Boom!
His body flew back like a rocket as even with the successful block, the zombie still manages to let him experience a blow from a Level Two° zombie.
The man crashed to the wall and fell down to the ground while vomiting a mouthful of blood.
As if a trigger, the moment his body flew away, all the remaining survivors instantly lunged themselves towards the zombie.
Even still, the zombie still manages to avoid most of the attacks. The only thing that is good on that wave of attacks was the dagger from Katrina which sliced off another portion of the zombie's arm.
Shriekkk!
The zombie produced a shrill cry as it finally threw the head it was holding towards a survivor. As she didn't expect the attack, the survivor took the hit directly in her chest.
Just like the previous man, her body flew like a rocket and fell to the ground after crashing to the same wall. The two had fainted from the impact and would probably not awaken in a day or two.
Baam!
One of the remaining survivors that wore a gauntlet on both of his hands delivered a powerful fist towards the zombie's rib.
Due to the injuries it had gained from before, the zombie trembled a little due to the fist's impact. If it was a Level Two° human who had done the attack, the zombie's ribs would surely be broken out of shape.
With the zombie flinching a little, Katrina finally manages to find a safe opportunity to attack.
Swoosh!
Putsik!
The sound of a dagger cutting the air rang in the survivor's ears as Katrina successfully pierced the zombie's throat. Her aim was supposed to be the head, Unfortunately, it was able to jump at the last moment, causing her to only hit the throat.
"Held her tight!' Katrina stated, her subordinates followed her instruction and held the weak zombie on both sides.
Fortunately, the zombie seems to have become exhausted as it didn't offer any sort of resistance.
However, Katrina was alert so she instantly took her dagger and was just about to plunge it towards the zombie's head.
It was at that exact moment that the zombie finally jerked and struggled like a patient in a mental hospital.
Katrina retreated immediately, in fear of the attack that might come from the zombie.
The survivors laugh as they could now restrain the zombie due to its weakened state.
However, amidst the zombie's struggle, it's nail manages to scratch the hand of the survivor restraining it.
The survivor retracted his hand in pain and due to that, the zombie was now set free.
The instant that scenario happened, the zombie didn't waste its time and immediately slashed towards the other man restraining it.
The instant the other man let go of the zombie, it turned around and ran towards the open window.
"No… Stop her!" Katrina said in a panic seeing the zombie was about to escape.
The sound of glass shattering could be heard as the zombie jumped off the two-story building.

Survival Recommended
The universe is destroyed and its inhabitants are thrown into Existence. Eli finds himself in a new world, with a new body, and a System that's more interested in how he'll die. Follow him on his journey of survival in Realms above ours. The story is already completely planned as far as major plot elements go, and it's LONG, chinese novel long. The premise isnt exactly the most original, but after a couple chapters you won't mistake it for any other novel. Be warned this has little in the way of childish wish fufillment and lots of characters are going to die, so don't get too attached. As this is my first attempt at writing, the begining will probably be a bit rough. Please don't shy from criticisms, and I plan to rewrite most of the begining chapters as I get better.
