The moon and the stars could not be seen above. The sky was pitch black as dark clouds covered the natural illumination of the moon and the stars. The weather was bad, and Nile assumed that he might be able to experience his first rain in the zombie world soon.

As the 12-minute mark approached, Nile could hear a commotion in the distance. It was dark, so Nile could only rely on his hearing to perceive things from afar. Nile was sure that the fuss came from a dozen people, running or walking.

He was not sure though if what had caused the commotion are Bruno and his mean. For that, Nile decided to buy a binocular from the System that has a night vision function with it. Nile spent 10 Apocalypse Points to buy the binoculars.

The binocular that Nile bought has the appearance of goggles. In fact, there was a strap at the side of the two eyepieces. One can use the strap to mount the binocular on the head. The binocular can see up to 150 meters at night and up to 900 meters during the day.

Nile mounted the black binocular in his head and observed the commotion at a distance, 200 meters away. Nile waited for a bit longer, and then after a while, he finally saw the ones who were causing the commotion in the distance.

And just as what he had speculated, it was really a group of dozens of people armed to the teeth. Nile could not tell the exact numbers, but he estimated that there are no less than thirty people in the group.

At the center of the group, there was a puffy man wearing sunglasses. He was wearing a plain dark-green shirt paired with orange boxer shorts. The man was walking in the middle, surrounded by the people that are most likely his lackey's. His beer belly was apparent and looked more like a balloon that was about to pop than an actual bear belly.

His physical features match with what the woman had said about Bruno. Nile was not sure if the woman had not intentionally lied, but after seeing those women beside the puffy man, Nile assumed that it was indeed Bruno.

Four women were clinging on Bruno's arm as they walked very slowly. This resulted in the group to move like a snail. 'It must be the reason why they have taken so long to arrive' Nile thought.

Behind Bruno was the woman who had escaped from earlier. Seeing the woman, Nile could not help but grit his teeth in anger.

There are 30 or more people in the group, including Bruno, the woman who had escaped, and the four women beside him. They were a little spread apart, so Nile was deliberating on which part should he fire the Exploding Bullet to obtain more kills.

After deciding, Nile loaded the Sniping Slingshot with the bullet he was juggling earlier. Stretching the rubber of the slingshot, Nile estimated, and after his aim stabilized, Nile released his hand, and the Exploding Bullet flew towards the group.

Bruno's group was still taking cover from the trees as they stared at the area of the explosion.

It was regrettable, but the woman who betrayed Nile had not died with that explosion.

Bruno stared at the strewn bodies of his woman in the area of the explosion. His mood was depressed not because of the death of his women but because of the fact that their enemy could still use explosion devices.

It must be known that when Bruno and his men tried the explosion, for some unknown reason, the bombs did not explode. It was the same case for the guns, as they suddenly stopped working without warning. The only visible signs they could assume as the culprit for the dysfunction was the orange rust that was forming on the gun's mechanism and its surface.

However, Bruno witnessed with his own eyes that a bomb was still working just fine and even managed to claim three of his strong men.

Previously, he did not think that it was actually a bomb. When he noticed the whistling object incoming their way, he believed that it was only a stone thrown to them. And for the other side to pitch that fast, Bruno admits that if not weaker, then he and the other person must have the same strength.

It was also the reason why he ordered his men to hide. Bruno knew his strength well. He knew too well what would happen if he threw a stone at someone with the same speed as that one.

Bruno frowned and looked at the direction where that bomb came from. It was precisely their destination. Bruno could not see that far during the night, but with his ten years of living here at the Village of Kahoy, he was pretty sure that the location that woman states was still 100+ meters away from their current location. The confused Bruno could only ask inside him. 'Just who are you?'

After hearing that three of his men were already in her tail, Bruno calmed down and waited for their good news. However, dusk had come, but the trio had still not returned.

Bruno then ordered eight of his men to search in every cardinal direction by pair. He even interrupted the session of one of them, and Bruno noticed that he was displeased, of course, he did not dare to voice it out.

After two months of surviving in this apocalypse, Bruno had become forceful and would do anything he wanted. This treat of his was passed down to his underlings.

Every now and then, there will be survivors appearing to seek shelter. Bruno had already formed his base with over 30 men on Level One°; Bruno did not want to add more. However, if there is a new woman, Bruno and his gang would accept her immediately.

He was about to leave with the group and search that direction where the last group had gone when the woman, who they had been searching for, returned on her own.

She was clutching her stomach and was panting heavily. Although he was angry, Bruno decided to let her calm first and interrogate her after.

Bruno beckoned, and one of his men brought water and offered it to the woman. The woman took it and gulped it down quickly.

Her breathing had already calmed down, and it was now the time for Bruno's interrogation.

Bruno approached her and clenched her disheveled hair. He raised the woman's hair and closed his face on the woman. Bruno bulges his eyes and lets his most stern expressions surface. "Where's my dagger?"

Yes, for Bruno, the dagger was more important than his men's lives. That dagger, after all, came from the claw of a mutated Bat. Bruno obtained it at the cost of 8 lives. It was a hard battle, and Bruno harvested two mutated bat claws during that time. He sharpened the claws more, and then he let one of his men put a handle to make it as a dagger.

The woman is known as Ellie. At least that was what she told Bruno.

Ellie's right hand was still clutching with her stomach. Her left-hand reach for Bruno's hand that was clasping her hair. She struggled to break free from Bruno's grasp, but it only worsens the situation she was in. "Th... ouch*... That man...ouch*... took it."
