Into The Zombie World Chapter 8

The System continued with another lengthy explanation.
[The Apocalypse Virus is supposed to be a secret project that the Pangea Government was researching. Their goal was to create a drug that can make the human body breakthrough it's limit and obtain unimaginable strength.
The reason for that was simple, the Pangea Government Space Exploration team has confirmed that there exist other living beings outside the space. It was only for a moment but they were bewildered by that encounter. The Pangea Government became restless in fear of being invaded. And at the same time, they have this ambition to conquer.
However, the Pangea Government knew that it lacked something. And that was a kind of weapon that can protect and destroy at the same time.
Hence they initiated this project called, "Pangea's Bio Soldiers."
After a countless number of experiments, the project has finally made its initial success. It was the birth of the 'First Virus'.
The first virus, just like what its name implies is a virus that can kill millions or billions of people if not taken seriously. It was a virus that is perfect for massive killing. However, the Pangea Government doesn't have a plan to use the virus in that way.
The First Virus was just the first step towards their grand plan.
The First Virus will act as the foundation for the next virus that will follow. The first virus was already completed, leaving only the second to be created.
The 'Second Virus', that is also considered as the 'Cure Virus.'
However, before the project even proceeded towards the second phase, they were caught off guard because of the sudden chaos that appeared on the Pangea Continent.
There was actually a virus that pops out of thin air, infecting all the people around the world. The virus had already caused massive death on its debut.

It was precisely the First Virus that the Pangea Government had just created.
The Pangea Government, knowing what the first Virus is fully capable of, hastily urges their scientist to finish the second Virus, the 'Cure Virus' immediately.
The Pangea Government doesn't have any clue on who spread the virus outside the research facility. However, what the Pangea Government knew was that if taken lightly, the whole Pangea Continent will become a total wasteland after a couple of weeks.
In haste, the 'Cure Virus' was created. The death toll around the world has been increasing every second. The Pangea Government did not waste their time any further and released the 'Cure Virus' immediately.
The Pangea Government knew that it was a hasty move. It was both a gamble and a sacrifice for them.
Failure means death. Success means progress.
However, even the Pangea Government did not expect the two viruses to mutate in another way, making the government even more helpless.]
Nile massages his forehead again. He needs to re-read it again to understand its content entirely.
'So, it was all the government's fault.' Nile thought.
Nile leaned his back in the door and massaged his forehead as he started to contemplate on what he should do next.
'Well... shit,' Nile cursed inside after realizing the grave danger that he was in.
He realizes that if the Apocalypse Virus inside of those zombies outside finished hibernating, they would mutate further, meaning, they will be more dangerous.
He also realizes something. During that news, he clearly saw that there are already stronger zombies. It means they have already finished hibernating.
'Does that mean that different Apocalypse Virus has different times of hibernation period?' To confirm that, he asks the System, to which the System responded right away.
[Yes Host, they have different hibernating periods. The Apocalypse Virus hibernation period depends on how much the First and Second Viruses infected the person it resides to. The more the person was infected, the stronger the mutation of the Apocalypse Virus will occur.

The stronger the mutation was, the earlier they would exit the hibernation period. It was because of the fact that if the mutation is stronger, then it can destroy the 'Will' of the person easily. It means that the Apocalypse Virus will be able to start eating the person's brain earlier and faster than expected.
For the Apocalypse Virus, the brain of the person they infected is like a booster or in the term used by the host's previous world. The Apocalypse Virus considered these brains as a Huge Exp for their evolution.
Finishing this brain means that they can evolve further. However, the Apocalypse Virus will not evolve right away. They must first consume another set of Apocalypse Viruses to fuel their growth. This was the reason why the Apocalypse Virus made the body act on the instinct of infecting other living beings. It was their preparation so that they will be able to obtain another Apocalypse Virus quickly after their hibernation.]
The 'Will' acted as the security guard of the brain. If a person has a strong 'Will, then the Apocalypse Virus will not be able to do anything except to die.
Even if it started eating the brain at the periphery, the 'Will' would protect it with all its might.
If an Apocalypse Virus failed in its attempt to breach the brain, they would die inside the brain of a person. The 'Will' of a person will also weaken during this time.
Hence, if a zombie bites you, it would mean another intrusion. At this time, the recuperating and the weakened 'Will' will not be able to withstand the attack. Meaning, it was 100% sure that the bitten person will be infected and become a mindless zombie.
After the Apocalypse Virus finishes the brain, it will not need another person's brain anytime soon. This time, they will seek the tonic, which is the other Apocalypse Virus. The Apocalypse Virus that was still hibernating will be easy prey to them.
As the primary goal of the experiment is to make the Pangea people into Bio Soldiers. The Apocalypse Virus still contains this property, meaning with the superior Apocalypse Virus acting as the brain, it will be able to consume other Apocalypse Viruses to strengthen its body and mutate further.
With that being said, those dead Apocalypse Virus that had failed to destroy the 'Will' of the infected person can also be used as a way to strengthen the body of a living person. It is some sort of reward that the infected can gain after fending off the intruder. Apocalypse Virus.
But the said reward can only be obtained by those people who know of this fact and also know the method to make use of the dead Apocalypse Virus that is currently inside their brain.
But the Host need not worry about that, as the System will help the Host to distribute the dead A.V. towards every part of the Host's body directly.
With that being said, the System urges the Host to start killing Zombies. Obtain the Apocalypse Virus that is residing on their brain and make yourself stronger.]

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

Some time between then and now secrets were revealed, like secret societies, where the nukes were being hidden, and, most importantly, that there were Fae, magic beings, living among humanity all this time. The Proxima Centurians eventually came to the now weakened Earth to 'check on' humanity about fifty years ago. Some say they are here to colonize what's left of the city-states and raiders alike. But now we focus on a young man who has earned the ire of a Centurian colony and a powerful half-Fae named Jormungrand. This young man has chosen the name for himself as B. The large man's eyes waver for a second before they quickly recompose themselves. "Come on then. Try to take me," The large man rushes towards the man in the cloak swinging his great sword down as he approaches. The man in the cloak sighs, aims his gun, and fires.
