Closed Beta That Only I Played Chapter 380

However, no matter how many times Matthias tried to recover the Ancient Monster Summoning Energy, he could not.
So he even thought that it would be better for him to confess his doings to Asirante and be humiliated by the Lucia Guild leader than lose his trait Ancient Monster Summoning Energy.
But Asirante was determined to stop the monsters like before.
From his perspective, Asirante and Myongjin did not seem to have anything to do with the changes in the Ancient Monster Summoning Energy. If they did, they would not have to deal with the monsters that still kept coming out endlessly.
After that, time passed day after day, and Matthias who once had Ancient Monster Summoning Energy under his control was very nervous as although it was working properly, he could not recover it.
Then Matthias even thought to himself, 'I wonder if the Earth can be ruined by these monsters that keep coming out endlessly.'
After all, at some point in the future, even thousands of boss monsters could appear at once. Moreover, they have appeared in the Myongjin Shelter only until now, but there is no law that they would go everywhere beyond the shelter.
"Man, this is really driving me nuts…"
When he imagined that the Earth would be ruined by the monsters and filled with them everywhere, Matthias had no choice but to open his mouth in dismay.
As a matter of fact, that was a situation he would not want to occur under any circumstances.
Of course, Matthias himself was confident that he would survive amid such a chaotic situation because he still stayed connected with Ancient Monster Summoning Energy even if he could not recover it.
Anyway, he could not focus on his work after that, so he was idling away, slamming the desk nervously.
He didn't even tell the Lucia Guild leader about his situation as he was too ashamed, and the Lucia Guild leader was so happy about the fact that Asirante could not grow any further because he could not play Revival Legend like before

In front of the small meeting room at the Myongjin Shelter.
"Don't get excited!"
My sister seemed to be worried that I was so upset that I might attack the guy as soon as I saw him. So she grabbed me in front of the small meeting room and asked me to calm down.
But I wasn't excited at all. Rather, I was calmer than ever because I knew that being excited and angry would not solve the problem at all.
But I was determined to get even with him by all means.
Then I opened the door to the small meeting room with my sister, where I faced a guy sitting with his back to my father, brother, and Director Sok.
Tramp- Tramp-
First, I walked towards the sofa in front of the man and sat on it before leveling my gaze at him.
The man also stared at me as soon as I appeared in the small meeting room.
At that moment, our eyes met.
So I leaned my back on the sofa first and opened my mouth casually.
"You are a coward."
As soon as I saw him, I discovered instinctively that he was a fake.
Of course, I could not find any evidence that he was a fake, but I could feel it instinctively.
If I used Ice Punishment against him right now, he would disappear like an illusion in an instant.
As soon as I said that, the man opened his mouth with a slightly surprised expression.
"Did you notice it? Did I look like that? Well, I'm so embarrassed to hear it. But please forgive me. As your name is so famous, I felt like I was entering a tiger's den when I came here."
"That's enough. What do you want? You must have made such a big fuss because you want something from me, right?"
I wasn't excited, nor was I angry, but I pretended to be so because that was the kind of reaction that he wanted from me.

At that moment, he responded, "Hahaha! What do I want? Well, it's not that grand. All I and the rest of us want is to be with you."
"…"
There was something that immediately came to my mind when I heard that.
It was none other than the Lucia Guild. Actually, they once played a dirty trick on me.
So, I immediately asked, "Are you with the Lucia Guild?"
Rather than be surprised by my question, the guy opened his mouth with a smile.
"Hahaha! Thank you for not forgetting the Lucia Guild. As you already know, I don't have to explain anymore, right?"
"Did you think I was going to be bound to your guild after I was humiliated like this?"
"Well, if you can't join us this time, I guess you might have another chance later because we have lots of time."
"..."
What he meant by 'another chance' was that they would make monsters appear again in the new location of the Myongjin Shelter if we moved there.
That was why this guy was full of confidence while he was talking to me.
Then he continued, still full of confidence and complacency
"It seems that as things stand now, I came here too early. It would have helped you to make a decision if I had come a little later. What a pity…"
In the end, he suggested he should have come to me at the time when I was pushed into a more difficult situation.
So I responded slowly, holding back my anger deeply, "No, you've come here too late."
Actually, I didn't access Revival Legend for a month. Moreover, Revival Legend announced that all the regions would be merged. And in fact, 40 regions were merged into one district. At the same time, to commemorate such a merger, a double EXP event was held in all hunting grounds. In other words, any user of Revival Legend could not help but be excited about it because currently the access restriction penalty was applied up to level 200, and nobody knew when the penalty would extend to level 300 and level 400.
So, I had no choice but to declare before all the members of Myongjin, the Mirae Guild, the Mongolia's Tugal Guild, the Daesung Guild and the Kusan Guild that sent reinforcements to us that during the event I would protect the Myongjin Shelter perfectly by myself.
Of course, I was annoyed that I had to say that. I even got infuriated because just like I had done in all events and quests, I would have unconditionally won 1st place in this event as well.
However, more powerful monsters appeared more frequently than a month ago.
In other words, if anyone other than me were protecting this spacious Myongjin Shelter, it would be inevitable that there would be huge casualties.
In addition to the casualties, it was obvious that the three main bases, which were also the pillars of the Myongjin Shelter, would be partially destroyed.
Moreover, if even those who came to help us protect the Myongjin Shelter could not participate in the event while protecting the Myongjin Shelter, it was certain that there would be lots of people who would badmouth me if I took part in the event.
So it was already too late, and the man in front of me might have aimed at it.
For he appeared here as soon as the double EXP event finished yesterday.

Beta Test
I'm sure I'm in for some colorful criticism, But if even a few people enjoy this, I'd be happy. As of right now the story is set in Delaware around 2005'ish'. A young man from the streets, aquires a beta test invitation in an unorthodox way. The plan is to have a comical adventure in an experimental virtual reality game. I can easily transition it to a full story if its well received. If not I hope atleast one person kinda likes it. P.s. This is a work of fiction, with made up characters. Any likeness is coincidence.

8 210The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
