Closed Beta That Only I Played Chapter 155

I had no intention of accepting such a fate helplessly.
"Ice Ball! Ice Bolt!"
Without moving in my place, I spammed Ice Ball and Ice Bolt on cooldown because if I moved even a little bit, even more monsters would attack me.
In other words, I adopted the strategy of taking advantage of my resurrection one hour later.
Of course, there was no guarantee that I would resurrect in the same place where I died.
However, I had to hunt as many monsters as possible before resurrecting to get a better reward for clearing the stage, so I tenaciously attacked the monsters, knowing that I would die.
I had hunted about 70 monsters, and now about 30 monsters were left attacking me.
As time went by, the situation clearly became more favorable to me, but the attack by more than 100 Rascal Fairies at the beginning was almost fatal.
That's why I felt regret about it. In this situation with my current 7% actualization rate, no matter how much I racked my brain, it was obvious that in the end I would fall first. But if I had an 8% actualization rate, I would have survived their attacks.
'By the way, I should get resurrected right here in this place…'
It should be this place by all means.
Because of that, I persistently kept hunting the monsters without moving one step from my current place
Otherwise, if I faced more than a hundred new Rascal Fairies in a new position again, I probably would end up dying not just once or twice, but many more times.
Anyway, with feelings of bitterness and regret, I kept attacking them even after accepting my inevitable death when I heard something strange.
Was it the fluttering of the Rascal Fairies?
There were a lot of Rascal Fairies surrounding me on all sides.
And I wasn't so deaf as not to distinguish their noise.
Moreover, I thought it was a sound I had heard somewhere before.
I turned my gaze to the left and right for a moment.
New Rascal Fairies do not attack me if I just turn my head or move my eyes .
However, I couldn't find the source of the noise even if I could still hear it.
'Maybe it's not a big deal.'
The fact that this would be my first death seemed to make me overly anxious and sensitive.

At that moment when I turned my gaze back forward, I saw something unexpected.
A Rascal Fairy is something like an aerial monster.
It was the kind of monster that flapped its wings in the air, and launched wind-type attacks by blowing the air toward me.
However, something quite long suddenly leapt out from beneath the ground the Rascal fairy was hovering over, and wrapped around the fairy's body instantly.
Then it began to squeeze the fairy tightly.
Obviously, the fairy was struggling to get out of it, but it was impossible for it to escape from something that tightly wrapped around it.
In the end, the Rascal Fairy stopped flapping its wings and died.
I could not understand the situation.
Only one type of monster appeared not only in Stage 1 and Stage 2, but also in Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5 and Stage 6.
So, it was the first time I saw monsters fighting against each other.
Actually, I wasn't sure if that "something" that attacked the Rascal Fairy was a monster.
At first glance, it only looked like a long black rope.
But that ridiculous situation just happened.
I didn't kill that Rascal Fairy.
Obviously, that black rope attacked and killed the fairy like a snake wrapping around and strangling a rat. In other words, I did nothing.
But a message rang as if I killed the fairy.
[You have earned 75 points.]
[You have acquired 17,000 Golden Rings.]
"..."
At that moment, I forgot that I had to fire Ice Ball and Ice Bolt at the other Rascal Fairies because I was really unprepared for the ridiculous situation.
And I had the feeling that this kind of ridiculous situation would not end with just that.
The black rope that killed one Rascal Fairy crawled back into the ground.
At that moment, I came to my senses right away because there was no guarantee that it would not attack me. But I soon realized that my worries were groundless.
Puck!
Just like it did before, that black rope leapt out under another Rascal Fairy and strangled it, causing the same results as before.
I was surprised again, but that ridiculous situation ended with the same message.
[You have acquired 76 points.]
[You have acquired 15500 Golden Rings.]
At first, I thought that the message may have rung because the rope's killing of the fairy overlapped with my attack on the Rascal Fairy.

But that was not true because I witnessed the black rope killing two Rascal Fairies before my eyes.
"Ice Ball! Ice Bolt!"
I didn't know if it was my enemy or ally. It didn't seem to be my enemy, but I was not so sure.
Shortly afterwards, I got rid of the remaining Rascal Fairies.
Now, except for the Rascal Fairies that were outside my striking range, there was only me and that weird black rope in the immediate vicinity.
Fully ready to spam Ice Ball and Ice Bolt, I focused all my eyes on it for fear it might attack me at any time.
But it slowly began to dig into the ground again, then completely disappeared.
I listened carefully for any sound for 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes and 4 minutes.
I stayed in the same place, waiting for a few minutes without moving at all, wondering if I could hear something crawling under the ground, but I could not hear anything at all.
"Who the hell are you? Are you on my side?"
[...]
There was no answer or sound to my question.
At that moment I felt like I saw this kind of scene somewhere.
Yeah, that long-rooted tree. This thing's means of attack was the same as the root attack of those long-rooted trees from before.
Of course, the long rooted tree could not attack me at all with its roots because of Ice Field backed up by Multiple Thin Ice.
But certainly, this thing's attack was similar to those previous long-rooted trees.
Then one more thing came to my mind.
It was the 'Root" item that I obtained from the boss monster called the Long-rooted Ancient Tree. According to the description, if I ate it, I would receive one root, but after I ate it, I could not summon any route no matter how hard I tried.
After that, I didn't pay any attention to it, for I was not in a situation bad enough to rely on a root which I had no understanding of at all. More precisely, I could do without it.
I was in such a situation back then.
"Is this that root, then?"
[...]
"Summon Root. Come out root. Confirm root."
[...]
I spat out various words to summon the root, but nothing happened like before.
"Hmm."
Of course, I liked the fact that I could still keep my number of deaths at zero.
Moreover, I welcomed a strong helper since the limit of a7% actualization rate was a significant barrier.
And its damage was pretty good.
"Not bad."
And it was clear that the root was not my enemy because I received points and golden rings even though it was the root that killed the monsters.
That was enough for me for now.
"Okay. Let me get rid of the remaining Rascal Fairies first."
Since there was no way for me to communicate with the root, I decided to stop thinking about it.
Killing the Rascal Fairies was more important to me right now.
So, I stepped forward.
Flapping. Flapping. Flapping.
At that moment three Rascal Fairies immediately attacked as soon as they noticed me moving.
Compared to the 100 fairies that I bumped into at first, they were nothing.
I easily killed them with Ice Ball and Ice Bolt, and gradually expanded my area, moving forward step by step.
I spent five hours killing them, except for about ten of them that I drove into a corner.
While I was killing the fairies, I wondered if the root would reappear, but it didn't.
"Hmm… Did the root appear because I was in a dangerous situation?"
I was definitely in a dangerous situation.
Well, it was not a dangerous, but a fatal situation where I could be killed.
"Then it will come out again, I guess."
I cleared this round safely, but there was no guarantee that I would not face the risk of dying again in the next round.
So, I thought of using the ten remaining Rascal Fairies to engineer a situation where the root would appear again, but I didn't, because I felt the root would not appear in a dangerous situation that I created artificially.
So, I logged out, leaving behind the ten fairies.
Besides, it was already midnight, and I was supposed to visit my house in Cheongdam Dong later.
If I got rid of the ten fairies now and moved to Stage 8, I felt like I would not be able to visit my house today.
Anyway, after looking down at the ground that I was standing on, I exited 'Revival Legend.'

Naruto Retsuden: Toru
[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance? It'll take at least 40 chapters or more before anything romantic happens.Realistic depictions of War from a child's perspectiveBlood and goreChild SoldiersPTSDRealistic character developmentTragedy. Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
