Closed Beta That Only I Played Chapter 143

At the arena waiting room.
"Um... This time it's taking a bit longer than before."
10 seconds? I heard a message within 10 seconds in the previous rounds that my opponent was decided, but this time I had to wait much longer.
And the message that rang was different from before.
[Your 8th opponent has been decided.
-0000 appeared.]
I immediately realized that my opponent was a user from the message.
Unlike an NPC who was impossible to negotiate with even if his name was revealed, I could make a compromise with a user even if I could not communicate with him.
So, in addition to not being able to converse, our IDs were also kept secret.
Anyway, I soon left the waiting room and moved to the arena.
I encountered the user and immediately used my skills.
Honestly, even if I could converse with him, I didn't have to make any compromise because he was destined to be a loser anyway.
"Ice Field! Multiple Thin Ice!"
Pasasasak!
Pitter-patter! Pitter-patter!
In the previous rounds, the NPCs immediately tried to attack me when they appeared because they knew the first strike was the most potent and threatening.
However, the user who showed up just examined me, which let me create a battlefield favorable to me. The battlefield favorable to me meant the worst battlefield for the opponent.
Soon I launched my most powerful attack against him.
"Ice Storm!"
Puck! Puck Puck!
My opponent collapsed immediately.
"Well, I would rather have an NPC as my opponent."
Faced with the combination of Ice Field and Ice Storm, the unknown user collapsed helplessly.
I could not help but click my tongue at my opponent's miserable state.
Compared to an NPC who would leave my striking range or the monsters that charged at me despite receiving severe damage, the unknown user's miserable action was really disappointing.
Anyway, a message rang to announce my victory.
[You have killed 0000.
-Victories: 8. Winning streak: 8.
-You are now being moved to the waiting room.]
Japan.
"..."
After being thrown out of the arena where he was defeated instantly, Sousuke was still in shock, not knowing what happened.
His opponent killed him in only two attacks. He had never had such an experience.
Moreover, the fact that his victory points were not reduced despite his private ID confirmed that his opponent was level 500.
"Who the hell is he? How could he do that? He was certainly level 500."
He couldn't figure out who his opponent was because the level 500 only quest, just like the level 100 only quest and the level 300 only quest, didn't proceed in any particular region. In other words, it was highly likely that his opponent was not a Japanese user.
Anyway, Susuke gave up on fighting further because it was clear he would never beat his opponent. And Sousuke wasn't the only one who experienced this.
Even some of those who had been working as "level 500 professional hunters" in America, China and Russia after stopping leveling up at level 599 also made dumbfounded expressions like Sousuke.
At Ferrero Castle's arena.
"Ice Storm! Pouring Hail!"
Puck! Puck! Puck!
Patter-pitter! Patter-pitter!
My opponent fell helplessly before my attack.
My opponents collapsed even before they tried to challenge me, regardless of whether they were users or NPCs.
Of course I expected such an outcome because it was just impossible for me to get into a crisis given my status window and items.
Furthermore, this quest was a level 500 only quest, and my opponents were around that level.
So, the number of my victories and consecutive victories were the same, which meant that I won all the rounds until now.
[ You have killed 000.
-Victories: 20. Winning streak: 20.
-You are being moved to the waiting room.]
The waiting room soon came into my view.
Then, a different message rang this time.
[You have achieved 20 consecutive victories in 20 rounds.
-Accordingly, you will be given an opportunity to face a high level opponent, and if you win, you will receive better rewards.
-Do you wish to take the challenge?]
I smiled at that message because I was waiting for this.
So, I opened my mouth right away.
"I accept this challenge!"
And as soon as I said that, a new message about my new opponent rang.
[Your 21st opponent has been decided.
-Pylan Knights Captain Mowgli has appeared. ]
Soon, an NPC who was larger than any other NPC I had met until now in the arena appeared.
Raising his huge two-handed sword, the NPC ran toward me.
"Ice Field! Multiple Thin Ice!"
Since I already knew that all I had to do was use my skills regardless of who my opponent was, I spread Ice Field first, then used it to power up my Ice Storm and Pouring Haill.

My opponent was a melee attacker using a two-handed sword, so he had to get close to me to inflict any damage.
As his title Knights Captain suggested, Mowgli endured my attacks well. He even broke through my attacks and counter attacked me.
However, the two-handed sword swung by Mowgli only cut the space where I was a split second before.
Honestly, I could probably let his attack hit me, but I had Blink for this purpose.
After moving behind his back, I attacked with Ice Rain and Ice Spear endlessly.
Even though the message warned about the appearance of a strong opponent, he could not contend against me at all.
Thud!
The giant NPC collapsed to the side.
At that moment, a message rang.
[You have defeated Captain Mowgli of the Pylan Knights.
-Victories: 21. Winning streak: 21.
-You are being moved to the waiting room.]
So, starting with defeating Pyran Knights Captain Mowgli, I continued to accumulate consecutive victories. Of course, sometimes stronger users appeared, instead of NPCs, but they all had embarrassed expressions on their faces.
Of course, I fully understood why they made such expressions because they knew I was just a level 500 user proceeding with the level 500 only arena quest since my ID was private. But they died without being able to attack me even once.
Anyway, a message rang once again when I achieved 30 consecutive victories despite the message after 20 consecutive victories warning me about the emergence of stronger opponents.
According to the message, I was given the opportunity to face a stronger opponent, and it asked if I would take up the challenge. Of course, I chose to take the challenge.
Of course, I thought that there would be a big fuss over my decision to take the challenge.
Since my ID Asirante was already widely known, I thought I didn't have to hide it anymore.
Rather, I chose to do my best to get the reward.
While Juyoung Hong, or Asirante was challenging Round 40, in which appeared opponents far stronger than the previous ones, rumors about him began to spread widely. The gist of the rumors was that he was too strong for someone who was just level 500. Of course, there were quite a few people who knew that the guy was Asirante.
When the country called Korea, which they had never thought of, won first place in the 4th Anniversary event, everybody started to conduct an investigation of my background. They used some money in the process, and obtained Memory Beads without any difficulty.
In general, they showed two types of reactions.
Some argued they didn't have to lose face by confronting me, while others made the case for confronting me to size up my strength.
Of course, there was no guarantee that they would encounter Asirante in the arena.
Anyway, with everybody focusing on the arena, the level 500 arena quest continued.
Ferrero Castle's arena.
[You have gotten rid of 00.
-Victories: 49. Winning streak: 49.
-You are now being moved to the waiting room.]
"Oh my God! I can't believe this!"
Of course, I won again without any big difficulty.
My opponent was stronger than I thought. In particular, he had a peculiar ability which was way beyond his level, namely, damage immunity.
My opponent did not move while he was immune to damage. Or perhaps he could not move.
Moreover, he could not use it indefinitely. But his combat sense was amazing.
He used his damage immunity skill only briefly when needed, then disappeared before reappearing to attack me.
But he could not be my rival, of course.
"It's no good in the end because he cannot harm me no matter what. By the way, is this the last round?"
The level 500 only arena quest ended exactly in Round 50.
Of course, if the winning rate was low, the quest ended in Rounds 10, 20, 30 and 40.
But that didn't apply to me at all since I achieved 49 consecutive victories all the way to Round 49.
It was now the final round for me.
"By the way, why is it taking so long for the next message to ring?"
A message about my next opponent didn't ring for one minute.
But I wasn't impatient because I was confident of winning against any opponent.
Finally, a message about my next opponent rang.
[Your 50th opponent has been decided.
-Lumen, Asirante has appeared.]
"?"
I could not help but be embarrassed at the message.
Honestly, I was astonished because I was Lumen, Asirante.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
