Closed Beta That Only I Played Chapter 89

Bang! Bang!
Of course I didn't know that the boss monster called the long-rooted ancient tree, attacked not only with its roots but also its branches unlike the ordinary long-rooted tree monster.
I didn't even know that a boss monster appeared here. It was natural that I had no specific information about this place since, befitting its name, it had been abandoned by even users.
Of course, even considering all that, I could withstand the boss monster's attack because the place where I was standing was the icy terrain of Ice Field. This meant that even if I stood still, I received the attack and defense buffs.
Besides, I was receiving additional buffs such as a 7% reduction in damage by the boss monster and a 7% increase in damage to the boss monster.
Puck! Puck!
So, I did not avoid the endless attacks of the long-rooted ancient tree's branches. Honestly, I could not avoid them because they were raining down on me endlessly.
Of course, I didn't simply tank all the attacks without using any defense skills.
"Ice Shield!"
First of all, I used the Ice Shield on cooldown. Mana was not an issue because it was just a level 3 Ice shield. In fact, the Ice Shield prevented the tree branches from attacking me five or six times.
And the effect of a level 3 Ice Shield was more than enough for me.
"Ice Prison! Ice Blast!"
Originally, Ice Prison was originally not intended for this kind of attack, but the buff I was currently receiving was so good that I didn't want to wasteIce Field as the base for Ice Blast.
So, I used Ice Prison on the long-rooted ancient tree and detonated it.
Moreover, the Ice Field didn't simply give me buffs.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
The Ice Field faithfully defended the attack of the tree roots under the ground. But, of course, it was defending against a boss monster.
Because of this, Ice Field, backed up by Multiple Thin Ice, suffered cracks and scratches here and there from the boss monster tree's root attack although it had withstood numerous attacks of the ordinary long- rooted saplings in the past.
The cracks and scratches began to widen gradually, but I didn't worry much because the cooldown of the Ice Field and Thin Ice had already passed its halfway point.
It was true that my Ice Field had cracks and scratches here and there, but it was still sturdy and solid. Anyway, with my two feet firmly stuck on the ice ground, I fired Ice Spears and Multiple Ice Arrows continuously at the monster tree whose trunk had been damaged in various places by a series of Ice Prison and Ice Blast attacks.

This was the most effective way I could attack right now.
There was silence among the members of Sungchang's 2nd boss monster raid team who were located in the rear.
"..."
"..."
"..."
None of them could open their mouths. No, some of them acted like a carp that kept opening and closing its mouth. But they could not say anything because what they witnessed was so shocking. Since they knew how difficult it was to fight the boss monster, they could realize how well the wizard was fighting right now.
Therefore, they were not just surprised, but also freaked out over the shocking scenes.
They never dreamed of confronting a boss monster one-on-one. Moreover, the boss monster that the ice-type wizard was confronting alone was not only strong, but also had such a tricky method of attacking from both above and below the ground that even a giant guild gave up on fighting it. Of course, the items that the boss monster dropped were terrible compared to the effort required to hunt it, which was another reason they gave it up as a bad job.
Anyway, while all 50 people were staring at the front blankly, somebody whispered from one side, "Use Memory Bead!"
Flash!
His words were a type of detonator. The eyes of all the team members who were staring aghast at the scenes in front of them sparkled instantly.
Then they shouted in unison, "Use Memory Bead!"
All of them here were members of the middle-sized guild named Sungchang.
And they were members of the boss monster raid team specially managed by the Sungchang leadership.
So, they had one or two memory beads even though they were very expensive. When one of them used it, the other members immediately shouted for the use of their memory beads as well.
As such, everyone knew intuitively that they must record the current scenes because it could bring them lots of money.
Among those who used the Memory Bead was Kilyoung Lee, the Captain of this 2nd boss monster raid team. Lee wanted to stop the rest from using the Memory Beads, but there were 49 of them. Even though he was strong, he could not stop them. So he didn't say anything and just silently looked ahead not to miss any of the action.
Puck! Puck!
Bang! Bang!
Obviously, the ice-type wizard inflicted many damages to the trunk of the old tree and smashed lots of its branches. But it was also a tough fight for him.

'Hmm. It is rather unreasonable for me to confront the boss monster alone. Besides, this boss monster is not just level 100 or 200.'
Of course, I could hold out on my own because my health was 1.4 million and my stamina was 7,000.
Any good tank, or even one in the top 5% category, would find it impossible to reach the numbers that I currently possessed, in particular the value of my health.
But my enormous stats were dwarfed by the boss monster because there was a reason it was called a boss monster.
That was why Sungchang dispatched an elite team of 50 strong men, not a motley of ordinary men.
Anyway, I checked the time since I began to confront the boss monster.
It had passed seven minutes, and was now starting to tick to the eight minute mark. I thought this was enough for me to imprint my abilities in their minds.
And even if I could hunt the boss monster by myself, I had no intention of doing so.
There was one reason why I was struggling alone. Namely, I wanted to advertise my ID 'Asirante' as widely as possible. And the most obvious and natural way for me to do so was by party hunting since I didn't have to hide my ID or use other deceptive means.
So, I used one final skill on the boss monster.
"Ice Prison."
Of course, my Ice Prison performed much better than other ice prisons, but it was not as good as the Ice Field overlapped with Multiple Thin Ice.
Perhaps because of that, it began to creak at the long-rooted ancient tree's branch attacks. Since the Ice Field had completed its role of buying time, I quickly retreated and approached the Sungchang Guild members in the back.
"Hello…"
I opened my mouth carefully since I had once rejected their offer to join their hunting party.
But I didn't have to be careful, after all, because their reaction far exceeded my expectations.
Even the man named Kilyoung Lee enthusiastically welcomed me.
"Yes!"
"Yeah, Yes!"
"Please go ahead!"
They gave me an overwhelming reaction just like soldiers who had encountered a division commander. Even though I was not part of their guild, their reactions were still explosive.
Of course, their reactions weren't important to me, so I immediately got to the point.
"I feel like I can't hunt this boss monster alone. Shall we party together?"
At this moment, Lee, who first suggested partying with me, replied with a loud voice as if he had been waiting for my invitation.
"Of course! I accept your request!"
[You have a party request from the '2nd raid team'.
Would you like to join the party?
-Yes/ No.]
I chose yes right away because I had already finished testing my ID several times.
And soon a message I was waiting for rang.
[Currently, you have two IDs: Lumen and Asirante.
-You can select one ID to use in the party.
: Lumen.
: Asirante.]
I chose Asirante.
[Asirante has joined the 2nd raid team's party.]
"Hahaha. Your ID is really cool. Actually I gave that name to my dog carelessly, and even now I get blamed for that. Of course, I don't want to change it because of your ID."
"Well, that ID sounds affectionate and good. "
So, a total of 51 people including me began to hunt.
As if he found it uncomfortable to order me around, Lee didn't give any instructions to me during the hunt.
Rather than ordering me, he had two tanks, two healers and one enchanter accompany me, while shouting with his thumbs up, "Go for it!"
I had several experiences participating in a boss monster raid before.
So, I knew well what I was supposed to do in a boss monster raid. In my case, my main role was to block the root attacks of the long-rooted ancient tree that would start under the ground.
That one role was enough for me. In fact, when the root attacks from underground disappeared when I blocked them with the Ice Field, everyone raised their thumbs up towards me in admiration. Of course, blocking the underground attacks meant that I was playing the role that ten people would normally take. But I was not satisfied with that, so I fired a barrage of skills at the boss monster such as Pouring Hailstones, Ice Spear and Multiple Ice Arrows.

Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
