Closed Beta That Only I Played Chapter 24

[You have the Level 100 Enhancement Quest.
-If you use the red Enhancement window on the right rather than the original Enhancement item window, you can proceed to the Level 100 Enhancement Quest.]
At the moment, a red item window was created next to the only item window before my eyes.
However, ignoring the red item window, I put a longsword, one of several items I obtained by hunting stone golems, into the original item window. Although I had the God of Enhancement trait, I had to do this first because I had no problems getting Enhancement 3 at all.
[You have chosen a strong longsword.
-To challenge Enhancement 1, you need 3 weapon enhancement stones.
-Would you like to strengthen it?]
I'd been slaughtering stone golems almost like I did orcs.
Thanks to that, I already have 14 weapon enhancement stones in my inventory, so I opened my mouth without regret.
"Yes."
Then I saw the effect of somebody hitting a strong longsword on the anvil with a hammer.
Soon a message rang, along with a small firecracker that only I could see.
[Enhancement 1 strong longsword success!]
Anyway, I was 100% certain I could reach Enhancement 3, so I calmly attempted to strengthen it and made a strong Enhancement 3 longsword.
And all that was left is the main game.
In the red item window on the right, I placed the +3 strengthened longsword. Then, a message other than the one that sounded when attempting to strengthen rang.
[You have selected a strong +3 longsword for the Level 100 Enhancement Quest.
-Once selected, the item cannot be changed.
-Would you like to choose the strong Enhancement 3 longsword?]
"Uh, no!"
The moment I almost finished my selection, one thing suddenly came to my mind.
So, I shouted 'selection cancellation' right away. Fortunately, my cancel order worked, and the strong Enhancement 3 longsword was still shining in the red item window.
As soon as I finished ordering, I quickly recovered it from the red item window.
Feeling greatly relieved, I opened my mouth.
"Confirm 'God of Enhancement' trait!"
[Trait: God of Enhancement.

: There is nothing like enhancement failure in my dictionary.
-After activating the God of Enhancement, enhancement attempts have a 100% chance of success. However, depending on the grade and option of the item, additional golden rings and experience may be required.
-After achieving enhancement success by activating the God of Enhancement, there will be a cooldown before reuse according to the item's grade and options.
-During the cooldown, it is impossible to activate the God of Enhancement.]
Before I chose the strong Enhancement 3 longsword as the item for the Level 100-only Enhancement Quest, it occurred to me that there was a limitation to the 'God of Enhancement' trait. It required additional gold rings and EXP depending on the item's grade and options. And there was more. Namely, when the enhancement was successful, the cooldown time would be generated for future reuse depending on the item's grade and options.
And here the limitation of the cooldown was very important because this quest was a Level 100-only quest.
So, I confirmed directly that when I reached Level 101, the limitation would automatically disappear even if I did not perform this quest.
I needed a way to receive no cooldown time or receive less even if I receive it because I had to proceed with Level 100.
To do this, I needed an item with no options at all, or an option that was almost useless at the basic level.
Of course, a strong longsword was not a valuable item, but it was the best item I currently had because all the items I was wearing right now were those items that I used and threw away.
I wore such items deliberately, and I found the most worthless among them, namely the light stick given to beginners when they created a character.
So, I opened the inventory straight away and yelled, taking out the item in one corner.
"Confirm item!"
[Beginner's Light Stick (General)
-It is a light stick that anybody can easily use.
-Increases physical attack power by 3.
-Durability 50/50]
"...."
It was an item that could be used by anyone with no level restrictions. Moreover, it was this item that existed solely for the purpose of striking the scarecrow rather than hitting the low-level monsters like orcs or kobolds.

In other words, given the cooldown time which is generated according to the item's rating and options when using the 'God of Enhancement' trait, I had no other choice than this item to minimize the cooldown.
"Whew! I almost made a mistake."
Feeling greatly relieved, I breathed a sigh of relief. Otherwise, I would have plunged into the dilemma between challenging the high-level enhancement while staying at Level 100 for a long time because of the cooldown and giving it up to focus on levelling up.
Of course, even a light stick for beginners could have a cooldown time. The higher the enhancement level, the higher the cooldown time.
But one thing was certain: it was going to have a faster cooldown time than a strong longsword.
I immediately put the light stick for beginners in the existing item window.
[You have chosen a beginner's Light Stick.
-One Weapon Enhancement Stone is required to challenge Enhancement 1.
-Would you like to strengthen it?]
I checked the message and nodded right away because I had three strong longswords. 1 meant that the value of the item was low.
"Yes."
I immediately started strengthening, then increased the Light Stick to Enhancement 3.
'Is this the case of the tail wagging the dog?'
When I looked at the Enhancement 3 Light Stick, I couldn't help but think that way because a beginner's Light Stick had no value for a single gold ring. Even the weapon enhancement stone was worth hundreds of gold rings.
In any case, I placed the Enhancement 3 Light Stick on the red enhancement window.
[For the Level 100 Enhancement Quest, you have selected the +3 Light Stick for beginners.
- Once selected, the item cannot be changed.
- Would you like to choose the +3 Light Stick?]
"Yes."
Since there was no item lower than this, I proceeded straight away.
Then a small hammer icon was created next to the red enhancement window.
Now came the main game. At the moment, I thought of challenging Enhancement 4.
But I thought twice in no time.
"Let's play safely. Yes, safely. I only have one chance. Activate the 'God of Enhancement' trait."
[Activates the 'God of Enforcement' trait has been activated
-100% chance to succeed.
-Enhancement Target: +3 Light Stick for beginners.
-Additional requirement for enhancement: None.
-Cooldown time for successful enhancement: None.]
'Oh, this is how it works.'
It was my first time using the God of Enhancement trait.
I nodded at the clear message, particularly at the message that said there was no cooldown time. Anyway, after setting up the God of Enhancement, I clicked on the small hammer icon next to the red enhancement window.
Then the +4 Light Stick appeared, along with the effect of a beginner tapping the +3 stick with a hammer.
[You have succeeded in achieving Enhancement Level 4.]
"Activating the God of Enhancement."
My goal was to strengthen it by at least two digits.
So, ignoring the message about the +4, I immediately activated the God of Enhancement.
[The God of Enhancement has been activated.
-100% success chance.
-Enhancement target: +4 Light Stick for beginners.
-Additional requirements for enhancement: None.
-Cooldown for successful enhancement: None.]
'Hahaha.'
I laughed at the no cooldown time message because it meant that my decision to choose the beginner's Light Stick was very good.
So I tried to strengthen it comfortably, and the message that I succeeded in Enhancement 5 rang, then came the message about Enhancement 6.
[The God of Enhancement has been activated.
-100% success chance.
-Enhancement target: +6 Light Stick for beginners.
-Additional requirements for enhancement: 115,000 gold rings.
-Cooldown time for successful enhancement: None.]
It was the moment I challenged Enhancement 7 with the +6 Light Stick for beginners that I witnessed the first change. Namely, I needed 115,000 gold rings.
Of course, since I had over 100 million gold rings, I was a little uneasy because I could not be sure if there would be no cooldown in the next enhancement.

The old man shook his head. “Thinking a single human can accomplish more than a nation, what do they teach these kids in school?”The corner of Luo Si’s mouth hooked up a bit. “Like an archer that sees a fire lance for the first time. Ignorant towards the inevitable, since he has never witnessed its true might. A new era is about to begin...as well as the end.”
8 212Into the Feywild
I've never considered myself to be much of a fighter. In fact, I had no notion what it was all about. I couldn't envision a war amongst people, especially my own. In this odd realm, a timid half-elf has little chance of success. Especially with minimal experience. I've only fought as a means of survival, self-defense, if you will. I had known only humans, so the concept of elven culture and family was foreign to me. And yet, here I am, in the midst of a tremendous battle between two Feys and a God. I never planned for things to turn out this way, or for me to get caught in the great shambles of war—a conflict between good and evil. My two companions are practically strangers to me, knowing nothing but my name. This journey was not something I had planned or wished for, but it was what the Gods gave me.◈ ◈ ◈Meli, a young half-elf traveling the Material Plane, is unexpectedly captured while on her travels, only to become a member of an odd group of individuals. Crane, an older wizard castaway from his college for practicing unnatural magic, and Kurky, a youthful and lively gnome who is as fascinating as they come. Meli's curiosity gets the better of her as she chooses to accompany them on their not so concrete journey into the Feywild. Little did they know of the constant war raging within this woodsy plane. Maybe Meli will discover everything she's been looking for, embracing love and pleasure along the way. Or perhaps she'll become a part of something bigger. © Copyright to EmmeMeadows 2021

★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize? New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought...
