"It looks similar!'
The status bar of Forgotten Legend was not that different from other MMORPGs that I played.
So, I was satisfied with that because this status bar, which I didn't see in the real world, clearly expressed my capabilities in specific stats such as strength, agility, and stamina.
So, if my stats increase, I will be stronger proportionately.
"Open inventory."
Since I was done with checking the status bar, I opened my inventory right away.
50 crumbly bread
50 soft drinks
1000 golden rings.>
The inventory had only four items including the sum of 1,000 golden rings whose monetary value I didn't know at all.
I took out the entry-level club that looked like a stick. It was too slim to be called a club.
"Confirm Item."
A light club that anyone can use easily.
Striking power increased by three times
Durability: 50/50 >
"So, I need to level up 5 times using this club, right? Then I should grow by mastering the skills that I want."
Since I had read some stuff on the homepage of Forgotten Legend before I accessed it, I immediately grabbed the club and moved to the training field where there was a scarecrow.
When I was about to move, I saw users participating in the same closed beta appearing around me. But I didn't care about them and moved quickly by lighting up the village map.
I kept wielding the entry-level club at the scarecrow. Just like the mole-catching game, I wielded it toward the red spots that appeared on the scarecrow. The more I struck those red spots, the quicker the red spots appeared and disappeared. Then I finally lost the red spots.

Currently, the maximum number of consecutive hits I could achieve was seven or eight.
When I succeeded with such combos several times, I heard a message beeping.
A message appeared after I reached Level 5.
I stopped wielding the club upon reading the message because my original goal was to achieve Level 5.
Then I left the other users who were busy attacking the scarecrow and moved on to learn some skills.
'By the way, there are currently no restrictions because the status bar doesn't show any occupation section.'
Usually, there is something like an occupation in most MMORPGs that is decided at the start of the game.
For example, fighter, assassin, archer, wizard, shaman, etc.
So, there were usually predetermined characteristics, skills, and available items befitting each occupation at the beginning of the game.
But there was nothing like that in Forgotten Legend.
Your fighting style was determined by the way you distributed your stat points and the skills you obtained.
According to the explanation on the homepage, any user could develop their own characters in whatever way they liked and could even develop them into hybrid characters.
Of course, there was a comment by somebody with a high number of likes that said, "Hybrid characters usually end up being erased at the end of the day".
And I agree with the comment to an extent because I've been playing games for quite a long time.
When I think about team play, in particular, it's much more effective to gather people who were strong in one particular area.
But I've been playing solo all along.
And that was why I liked the Forgotten Legend system. I wanted to make up for what I was lacking one by one, even if I might end up making a hybrid character.
Nonetheless, this character had the basic fighting style of dealing strong blows like elemental wizards

I mainly played with lightning-type fighters or wizards in the games that I had played before. And I happened to encounter this ice-type wizard.
I could not help but get hooked on it because of its additional frostbite damage.
There were games that did not have additional frostbite damage, but most of the games usually had frostbite debuffs that also slowed the enemy.
Since I attacked from a distance, I could enjoy the maximum effects of the debuff.
So, I had always chosen ice-type wizards since then.
Ice-type wizards certainly did less damage than fire or lightning-type wizards, but I was competent enough to make up for that.
I was going to try to be an Ice-type wizard because I had already confirmed that the frostbite debuff was present in this game.
I slipped out of the scarecrow training field in no time and approached a huge tower in the center of the village.
'I can attain skills here, right?'
Before even touching the tower, I heard a message.
"Search for ice-type wizard abilities!"
Since I didn't want to go through the enormous amount of skills here, I used the search function right away.
Then a message appeared before my eyes.
-Level q Ice Ball (Active, required 1 skill point and 100 golden rings.)
: Throws a fist-sized lump of ice toward an enemy within a range of ten meters
: Attack range and damage scale with intellect
: Can be upgraded to Level 2 and Level 3 Ice Ball
-Level 1 Ice Shield. (Active, 1 skill point and 100 golden rings are required.)
: Installs a thick ice shield before its user
: The thickness of ice scales with intellect and willpower
: Can be upgraded to Level 3, Level 5, and Level 7 Ice shield
-Level 1 Ice Weapon. (Active, requires 1 skill point and 100 golden rings.)
: Coats a Weapon with ice energy that can inflict additional damage to the opponent upon attack
: Additional damage scales with intellect
: Can be upgraded to Level 2 and Level 3 Ice Weapon
-Minor Frostbite Occurrence. (Passive, requires 1 skill point and 500 golden rings.)
: Small chance to apply a frostbite debuff after an ice-type skill is used.
: It can be upgraded to major frostbite once you accumulate levels and EXP.
There were five skills on display with short summary of each shown. They were not impressive at all.
Since I had already experienced Ice Storm and Blizzard in other games, I felt these skills were shabby, but I didn't care because I was a basic Level 5 beginner.
"Select Level 1 Ice Ball, Level 1 Ice Bolt, and Level 1 Minor Frostbite Occurrence."
I had received three skill points after achieving Level 5, so I chose the offensive Level 1 Ice Ball, Level 1 Ice Bolt and Minor Frostbite Occurrence as my skills.
I didn't feel any need for Ice Shield or Ice Weapon because I was thinking of attacking from a distance.
- You need a total of 3 skill points and 700 golden rings.
- Do you wish to obtain these three skills?>
"Yes, I do."
There was an instant message that showed that I had obtained Level 1 Ice Ball, Level 1 Ice Bolt, and Minor Frostbite Occurrence.
Then I walked away from the tower to try out the skills.
I was now standing outside the castle gate.
"It's only natural that I see them here because this area is for beginners."
Outside the castle gate, there were the typical low-level orcs and goblins present. Of course, there were also other characters besides the monsters.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
