Last Wish System Chapter 87

Yale didn't expect such an offer, but as he was in an unknown region, so traveling with someone experienced would be useful to him. Since both parties would benefit from cooperation, there was no need to doubt.
"Alright, let's collaborate."
The merchant smiled after Yale accepted. He was already smelling the money he would obtain thanks to the cooperation.
"Then, it is settled. My name is Oscro. Nice to meet you."
"I am Yale, nice to meet you."
They didn't speak anymore after introducing themselves because they were business partners and not close friends. They had chosen to travel together because both would benefit from it, nothing more nothing less.
At dawn, Yale followed Oscro to another village. Oscro had a good knowledge of the area's geography, so it was rather quick to find other villages.
"Listen, Yale, I don't know if it is because of your lack of memories, but you are way too honest. To a merchant, that is a critical flaw, so you don't need to speak anything to the villagers. Only use healing magic when someone asks for it."
Oscro didn't detect any lie when Yale had spoken to him before, so he thought that Yale was an honest fellow incapable of lying. He didn't dislike that kind of person, but that kind of person wasn't suited for business.
Yale simply nodded, he didn't mind about speaking or not with the villagers as long he could obtain the thing his past life had planned to get from the Zuatania Merchant Association. In fact, Yale wasn't very talkative, so he was fine with being in silence.
Furthermore, Yale had to admit that he didn't have any experience in trading with others, and he never had any intention of becoming a real merchant, so Oscro didn't say anything wrong about him.
The next village was similar to the previous one. Oscro showed his items to the villagers as he did before, but that time he added some other words.
"If any of you need some healing, this time, a healer has come with me."
The villagers seemed surprised, healers usually didn't appear in such remote zones, but the price Oscro asked was high, and they didn't have any serious problem, so they didn't ask for healing.
They left that village and started walking to another one.

"You have only traded by some dead beasts, even if you request a lot of them, is it worthy of all the effort?"
Yale felt that if he wanted to sell dead beasts, it was more efficient to go hunting and store the hunted beasts in spatial artifacts instead of trading items to obtaining them.
"There isn't too much profit, but I am investing in the future. The villages which are near Trade City have more resources, and trading with them also has better results, but there are more merchants interested in those. Furthermore, some of them already have a long history of trading with those villagers. Instead of only compete with them, trading also with the poorest could apport huge benefits if, for some reason, any of them one day become powerful. People usually don't' forget those who helped them in their weakest, and it isn't too difficult making this bit of investment."
Yale then understood why in the first village, he heard that they rarely saw the same merchant two times. Those villages weren't important places, at most an investment for the future, so people didn't go often.
Even if the merchants seemed to obtain a lot of profit from them, given that the merchants who aimed to the Apprentice Pill were practitioners, hunting beasts like the ones offered by the villagers wasn't difficult.
The merchants were doing a favor to the most impoverished villages by trading with them, and the middle-aged from the first village knew it. That was why he complied with all the requests the merchants asked.
"However, we will head to better villages later. Healers are still strange in those areas, and we will be able to get more valuables."
Oscro wanted to try luck in better villages, so he wanted to finish visiting the other few poor villages nearby before heading to them.
In the next villages, no one dared to ask for healing, moderate wounds could be healed with the pass of time, so they avoided to expend their money on a healer.
"Next village will be the last of the poorest area. Tomorrow we will head towards better zones. People with a bit more wealth have more chances of asking for healing."
Oscro wasn't surprised by the outcome. For poor people, unless there was no other chance, they wouldn't pay for a healer as the cost was enormous to them.

Yale would do it for free or for a low price if he were alone because to him healing them wasn't difficult, but luckily for their business, the pricing was all decided by Oscro, who put priority in the business efficiency.
Oscro thought that better avoid healing them than doing it for free. If people got used to getting the healings for free, they would never pay for them, and they would even start treating it as a right instead of a favor.
In the last village, which was a bit bigger than the others, no one asked for healing either, but something happened when they were leaving the village.
"Help! We had an accident while hunting!"
Two men were approaching the village, one of them was the one shouting and seemed fine, but the other one was unconscious, covered by blood, and had lost his left hand.
Yale and Oscro stopped and observed the situation. Yale was about to go healing the injured man even if they didn't ask for healing. He didn't like to see people in such a state, especially when he knew that the injury would never heal completely without healing magic like the lost hand of the man.
Oscro wouldn't stop Yale from doing it, although he wanted money. He also didn't like to see people suffering when they were able to help without effort.
The situation was different from the previous injuries or health problems they had seen before because they would end up healing naturally without endangering their lives or leaving sequelae.
The villagers put the injured man in one of the houses while the other explained what happened.
"A 2-star monster ambushed us, he tried to save me and ended in this state. We barely managed to flee from the forest alive because the monster didn't seem too interested in dealing with us."
Hearing the man, Yale remembered when he battled with that tiger in the Beast Trial. That was a perilous situation, and that was despite having Wyba's mother as the main battle force.
The men had luck for being able to escape. Probably the beast had the nest in the surroundings and didn't want to leave the cubs alone.
"Can you heal him? I will pay whatever you want."
The other man had just heard that a merchant and a healer were visiting the village and ran to ask for help. He was feeling guilty because his incompetence was the main reason for those injuries, so he didn't mind about the cost of the healing.
Yale didn't open his mouth, but he nodded. Seeing that Yale had nodded, Oscro started speaking.
"Alright, you come with me to talk about the fees. You should go to heal the man quickly. If you wait until we decided the exact fee, it can be too late to save him."
If Oscro asked Yale to wait, the man could die due to losing too much blood. He had already lost a lot of it on the way to the village. The other one didn't know even how to stop the bleeding correctly.
Yale went towards the injured man and made a gesture with his hand telling the others to leave. Yale had decided to avoid speaking as in that way, he could avoid giving explanations to them.
Everyone left without asking questions. They feared that if they disturbed the healer, the healing would fail.
Once Yale was alone, he used Time Healing on the injured man. That was the reason he wanted to be alone. Even if people in the village knew nothing about healing or the time element, Yale didn't want that someone else discovered about Time Healing unless it was unavoidable.
That was the only way he had to recover the man's lost hand. When the villagers asked for help, they only hopped to some natural healing to stop the bleeding and save the man's life, but Yale was against that because it would look like what happened to George before.
Five seconds of Time Healing were enough to regrow the man's hand because the wound was recent, and the man was only an ordinary mortal. The higher the level of the injured patient, the healing became more difficult.
The man opened his eyes after a few more seconds. Even his head was clear after Yale had cast Time Healing on him.
"My hand!"
The man shouted, and everyone thought that the man recovered his consciousness and became aware of his missing hand.
"My hand is back! This is a miracle!"

Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.
