Azrael couldn't understand why Zaki suddenly attacked him as if he had an intent to kill him.

He felt the burning sensation running throughout his body after being hit by the black fireball lightning.

He felt like he was being electrocuted right now. He wanted to flee but he couldn't spread his wings.

Zaki's black fireball lightning could immobilize someone for several minutes after being hit. Azrael couldn't move right now but he could talk.

"Supreme Leader, what have I done wrong?" Azrael asked him again.

Zaki stayed silent while inching closer and closer to Azrael. Every step he took, Azrael felt like his death was coming though he was immortal.

He could feel the chilly aura emanating from Zaki. He was furious. His eyes became bright bloody red as he looked at Azrael.

At that moment, Azrael knew that he was doomed.

When Zaki reached his spot, he picked his scourge whip that he often used when punishing grim reapers.

Azrael gulped hard, his heartbeat accelerating inside his chest. It seemed that Zaki came to see him to punish him.

But why did he have to do it there? He could have brought him back to the Netherworld first. It looked like Zaki had no plan of letting him escape.

Zaki raised his scourge as he started lashing and hitting Azrael in the different parts of his body.

"Aaahh!"

Every time the whip would touch his skin, Azrael could feel excruciating pain as his skin started to burn. Red marks started appearing in the different spots where the whip hit him.

Azrael was screaming in pain. He had lost count of how many times he was hit by the whip.

Azrael clenched his fists while grinding his teeth when Zaki stopped whipping him. His entire body was aching. He felt so weak as if all his power and strength were being drained.

He hated Zaki! He was cursing him now for doing this to him. He didn't even tell him what he had done wrong for him to be treated by him this way.

Anger surged up in Azrael's heart. He wanted to strike back with his remaining strength. He could feel that the immobilizing effect of the black fireball lightning had already subsided.

He could already move but he didn't let Zaki notice it. He was undecided whether to use his remaining strength to fight back or to escape.

Azrael was still thinking when Zaki had finally spoken.

"Maybe you are wondering why I suddenly punished you here. You already knew the answer, Azrael."

Azrael was taken aback when he heard that.

'No way?! Don't tell me he already learned about the deal I made with the cupids.'

"You have done something behind my back! That was insubordination. You even hid important things from me. That was an insult to me!"

Zaki was speaking to Azrael with his stern cold voice.

"You used the time paradox to bring a dead person back to life and send her back to her past! No wonder the book of death has been acting strangely lately!"

"Did you really think that I would never know this? You are such a fool!"

Zaki turned to face Azrael and grabbed him on his neck as he lifted him up.

"You deceived me, Azrael! I am so disappointed by your reckless actions!" Zaki screamed at Azrael as he continued strangling him using one arm.

"Someone also caught you checking the book of death even though you were not assigned to fetch souls!"

"Why did you do that?! Tell me, Azrael? What are you up to?"

While Zaki was interrogating him, Azrael's survival instinct kicked in. He refused to answer Zaki. All he wanted to do now was to flee and run away as far as possible from Zaki.

Azrael found an idea of how he would be able to escape from Zaki. He hid his right hand behind his back. After a few seconds, an orange light ball formed on his palm.

When it became big as a baseball ball, Azrael brought it to Zaki's face, in front of his eyes, and shouted, "Blinding Lights!"

A bright light dispersed in front of Zaki, hurting his eyes and blinding him for several seconds. He reflexively let go of Azrael to rub his eyes.

Azrael grabbed that chance to escape. With his remaining strength, Azrael spread his wings and flew away from Zaki as fast as possible.

His open wounds stung as they were touched by air. He had to endure it. He needed to run and hide from Zaki.

Azrael was almost losing his strength. His movement was unsteady. He felt like he was going to fall at any moment.

He could feel that Zaki was following him behind.

'Damn! I didn't expect this! He didn't even let me explain!' Azrael was feeling helpless.

He didn't know where to go. Once Zaki caught him again, he would be tortured ten times because he tried to escape.

"Damn! I'm so unlucky! I'm doomed!"

Azrael was almost losing his hope since he could see Zaki from a distance when suddenly he heard a familiar voice calling his name.

"Azrael!"

When he turned to his left, he saw Eros flying towards him.

"Damn! What is he doing here? He should get away from me or else he might get involved. Zaki will not hesitate to attack him."

"Eros, go away! Leave now!" Azrael shouted at him.

But Eros didn't listen. He continued approaching Azrael. When he got near him, Eros was bewildered seeing Azrael's current state.

"Hey, what happened to you? Why did you look like shit? Who did this to you?"

Azrael could hear the genuine concern in Eros's voice.

"You fool! I said go away! Leave here while still you can! You will get hurt if you stick with me!"

Azrael tried his best to convince Eros to leave. But Eros would never listen, especially now that he saw his current state.

Eros moved closer to Azrael and put his arm around his waist. He wanted to hold and support him as they continued flying.

"I'm not going to leave you! You are injured. Was it the Dark Soul the one who did this to you?"

Azrael was about to answer Eros when suddenly a barrier appeared in front of them, thus stopping them. It blocked their path.

When they turned around Zaki was already standing just a few meters away from them. The three heavenly beings stayed floating in the air.

"Hey, who is that?" Eros murmured to Azrael, asking him. He assessed Zaki from top to bottom.

Eros assumed that he was also a grim reaper. But his clothes were a little bit different from the other grim reapers.

He could tell that this grim reaper held a higher position in the Netherworld. He looked intimidating and frightening.

But Eros had to admit that he was also a very good-looking heavenly being. He looked cool and majestic with his cold and very fierce appearance.

"Who are you? Are you the one who did this to Azrael?" Eros asked Zaki directly because Azrael took a long time to respond.

Zaki raised his brow and sneered at them upon seeing Eros.

"A cupid? A cupid helping his grim reaper friend who broke the rule of the Netherworld and disrespected his Supreme Leader."

Eros frowned since the man didn't answer his question. Azrael shook his head and whispered to Eros.

"Eros, that man… is Zaki… our Supreme Leader."

'Oh, God! No wonder, he gave me this ruler vibe!' Eros thought to himself.

"Leave," Zaki commanded Eros.

"No, I will not," Eros stubbornly said.

"Hey, Eros. You are no match to him. Go and leave!"

"I said I will not leave!"

Azrael could only sigh helplessly. "Are you courting death?"

"No, I'm not! I am just saving a friend from being tortured to death," Eros said while smiling mischievously.

Azrael felt touched after hearing Eros's words. But he didn't want Eros to get hurt because of him. This fight was between Zaki and him.

"Go! Selene will not forgive me if something bad happens to her cupid!" Azrael used Selene's name to convince Eros.

Eros chuckled. "You are wrong, man! Selene will not forgive me if I leave my friend who needs my help!"

Azrael didn't know what to say anymore. Eros was stubborn.

"Are you done with your discussion?" Zaki told them, feeling impatient.

"You left me with no choice. You intervene so I will not spare you," Zaki said, threatening Eros.

Two dark big fireball lightnings were formed in Zaki's palms. Both Eros and Azrael watched him in horror. Zaki was so serious about attacking them.

Eros released his divine shield, getting ready to block his attack. He peered at his surroundings, searching for an escape route but unfortunately, Zaki trapped them inside a prison barrier.

They had to defeat him if they wanted to get out of that prison barrier.

"Shit, Eros! This is not ordinary fireball lightning!" Azrael said as he watched the two fireballs lightning getting bigger and bigger.

Before Eros and Azrael could react, Zaki threw those two giant fireballs lightning towards them.

However before the fireballs hit them, someone intervened, dispelling the giant fireballs lightning.

Then a beautiful angel with white silvery wings and long curly golden-brown hair stood before them, shielding Eros and Azrael from Zaki.

Eros's eyes widened in surprise when he recognized the angel.

"M-Mother Angel, Sienna…"

Zaki was also stunned after seeing Sienna. He didn't expect that she was also in the human world.

On the other hand, Azrael was starstruck upon hearing Eros mentioning Sienna's name.
