Agnes, one of the directors, sneered at Selene.

"This is the first time I am meeting our CEO. Since you seldom visit the company because of your studies, I bet you are not familiar with us. Miss Anderson, shall we introduce ourselves first?"

Among the directors present there, Agnes was the newly appointed director. She's only been working in the company for three months now.

She was in her mid-30s. Agnes was a very capable woman. Selene was aware that she was one of those people who wanted to chase her out of the company.

She was looking down on Selene, belittling her. She just emphasized to everyone that Selene didn't know anything about the company and the people working there.

Selene smiled at Agnes before saying, "No need, Miss Agnes, our Marketing Director. I'm already familiar with everyone here although I seldom visit the company."

Agnes was surprised when she heard him calling her name.

Agnes wanted to test Selene if she was telling the truth. If not, then Selene would be humiliated in front of the other directors and board members.

"Miss Selene, are you sure you know all of us here? Can you try calling and acknowledging us?" Agnes challenged Selene.

Selene just nodded her head with a confident smile on her lovely face.

Selene acknowledged the board members first, saying their names and even mentioning the percentage of their shares in the company.

After the board members, Selene called the directors by their names and department.

"This is Mr. Henry Chua, our Finance Director, Mr. Thomas Bourne, our Operations Director, Mr. Jason Torres, our Communication Director, Mr. Allan Dominguez, our Program Director."

Everyone was amazed since Selene knew their names and positions. She even told everyone some random facts she knew about them in her previous life.

Selene thanked them for their hard work. They were impressed by her. They thought Selene made an effort to research about them.

They were clueless that Selene didn't do any research just to know their names, positions, and random facts about them. She just used her knowledge from her previous life. She was also aware of their habits.

"Welcome to our company, Miss Selene," Director Chua also acknowledged her presence.

"What made you decide to attend this meeting? We thought you couldn't make it because of your grandma… you are still mourning," Agnes blatantly said.

Mr. Clarence and Grandpa Ivan didn't like the way Agnes was talking to Selene. She even mentioned Grandma Elysa although she already knew that Selene was still mourning.

However, Selene didn't let her get into her nerves. She remained calm as if she was not affected by Agnes's words.

She knew that Agnes was intentionally provoking her to ruin her image in front of the board members and other directors just in case she would not behave properly and caused a scene there.

Selene let out a soft giggle. Everyone's attention was focused on her.

"I have to attend because I heard that the main agenda of this meeting is all about me." Selene's expression suddenly changed when she said those words.

Everyone fell silent, just staring at her.

"You are planning to remove me as the CEO of this company… in times like this. I wonder who is the person you are going to appoint as the new CEO."

"I will be honest to everyone here. I am greatly disappointed by your actions. You want to stab me in the back while I am still mourning for my grandmother's death."

"You are belittling me and looking down on me just because I am still a college student."

Selene continued to speak, not allowing someone to interrupt her. She became bolder and fiercer with her words, not intimidated by people inside.

"You are thinking I have no right to manage this company. I am incapable of being the CEO so you want to replace me with someone older than me and with so much experience."

Selene smiled at them and continued, "I will prove you wrong and change that mindset of yours. I will show you that I can manage this company with my knowledge and abilities."

Everyone couldn't utter a word. They didn't know that Selene had this side. She looked like a strong independent woman right now… an iron lady who wasn't afraid of anyone.

"Don't worry. I understand you. You are just thinking about our company's well-being. So I have a proposal for everyone here."

"I will spearhead a project. After a month, I will make sure that this project will be successful and be advantageous to the company."

Selene glanced at Mr. Clarence, signaling to distribute the materials she made last night. She also prepared a PowerPoint presentation.

The folders were individually distributed to everyone in the conference hall. It contained the project proposal of Selene.

In her previous life, she remembered that this project had become successful after a month, bringing lots of revenue to the company.

Selene showed them her presentation.

"This is called the Blackpearl Project. Give me a month. If I fail then I will step down from my CEO position willingly. You don't have to call another emergency meeting like this just to oust me out."

"That's all I want to say. Ladies and gentlemen, do you have any objections?"

The conference hall was engulfed with a deafening silence after Selene's speech. It looked like they had offended her. They couldn't utter a word.

They were caught off guard by her boldness and bravery. She just showed them how confident she was with her skills.

Chairman Ivan Chou and Mr. Clarence were commending and praising Selene in their minds. They were proud of her.
