Selene stayed up all night just reading, studying, and reviewing their company's current situation. Their stock dropped but it was not a severe situation.

She knew that they would still recover in just a few days. But other directors made a fuss out of it so that they could call an emergency meeting, dismissing her as the CEO of the Lockhart Enterprise.

But she would not allow them to take away what rightfully belonged to her. With her knowledge from her previous life, she would be able to pass this crisis.

She would keep her position and she would make them acknowledge her. This was the only way she would gain the board members' trust.

She had to investigate further why Micaela got closer to her and Renz. She ended up betraying both Renz and Selene because of that kidnapping incident.

If she couldn't win Renz's heart and get his love in this lifetime, Selene would try her best to forget about him and move on.

She just realized that her world didn't only revolve around Renz. But she still cared for him. She felt indebted to Chou Family and Renz so she would do her best to repay their kindness.

Selene was still focused on her laptop when Eros entered her room, holding a cup of coffee. He placed it on her bedside table.

"Here, drink this coffee," Eros said, catching Selene's attention.

Eros had been watching her for four hours now. Selene didn't leave her spot, just staring at her laptop. She was sitting on her bed, leaning her back on the headboard while reading company reports on her laptop.

"Thank you, my angel," Selene said, accepting the cup of coffee. She put her laptop on the bed and took a sip of her coffee.

Eros sat beside her. "Are you not going to sleep yet? You still have class this morning. You only have four hours left to sleep. It's already 2:00 am."

"I told you to get enough sleep. You are abusing your body once again. I thought you would start taking good care of yourself. You are pushing yourself too hard again." Eros lamented to her.

Selene turned to Eros, sighing deeply. "Don't be mad."

"I'm not mad. I'm just worried about you and your health. You haven't recovered yet."

Selene gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about me. Besides, I have you. You can be my nurse and doctor if I get sick, right?"

Eros rolled his eyes at her. She was using her charm again to pacify him.

"I don't want you to get sick," Eros firmly said with a serious expression.

Selene appreciated Eros's concern for her. She loved hearing his nagging.

"I know!" Selene said, smiling at him. "But I have to do this. I have to protect what is mine. Some people are trying to take away the company."

Eros heaved a deep sigh. "Why don't we ask Renz for help? I know he can help you resolve this problem."

Selene pouted her lips when Eros mentioned Renz.

"No! I don't want to! I don't want to depend on him. I want to resolve this by myself. Besides, I know I can do it. I am confident enough!"

Eros was taken aback by seeing the serious expression of Selene. He noticed that Selene was avoiding Renz for the past few days.

Though he was glad about it, he couldn't understand why Selene had been distancing herself from Renz lately.

"Selene, can I ask you something?"

"Okay. But promise me that you will not suggest seeking help from Renz."

Eros just nodded his head in agreement.

"Hmm, good. Now tell me what you want to know."

Selene continued drinking her coffee while waiting for Eros to speak up.

"Is there something wrong between you and Renz? Why are you avoiding him?"

Selene was caught off guard by his question. She never told Eros about Renz's scandal video. So he had no clue as to why Selene was acting coldly towards Renz lately.

She tightened her grip on her cup. She didn't know what alibi she would give him so that Eros would stop asking her about Renz. She was not yet ready to talk about him.

Selene looked at Eros, meeting his blue eyes.

"Nothing. It's just that… I felt like I needed you more than him right now."

Eros: "..."
