Eros remained standing outside the door of Selene's ward when Micaela dropped by. She was about to enter but Eros blocked her way.

"Gabriel, what are you doing? Let me pass. I want to see Selene," Micaela demanded.

But Eros didn't move. He was looking dagger at Micaela right now. He couldn't believe the shamelessness and hypocrisy of Micaela.

She still had the guts to show her face to Selene after betraying her. If he was not an angel, he would have already slapped Micaela and punched Renz right now.

Actually, he could do it and justify his action while he was in his human form but he still tried to control his anger.

Selene would ask him if she learned that Eros punched Renz or slapped Micaela. Selene was going through a lot right now. He didn't want to break her heart further by telling her the truth about Micaela's and Renz's betrayal.

Little did he know, Selene already knew that Renz did something behind her back. It's just that Selene didn't recognize the girl. It would be more painful to her once she learned that the girl was Micaela.

"Do you think you have the right to see Selene right now?" Eros asked Micaela sarcastically.

Micaela narrowed her eyes at him. "Of course! I am her best friend. Who are you to stop me from seeing my friend?"

Eros laughed dryly after hearing that. "Hypocrite."

Micaela raised her hand to slap Eros but he immediately blocked her hand by grabbing her wrist.

Eros leaned over, whispering something to her. "If you are truly her friend, then don't steal something from her. I am warning you, Micaela. There is Karma in this world."

Micaela frowned upon hearing Eros.

'Did he know something? Is it about me and Renz?'

Micaela just feigned innocence. "I don't know what you are talking about, Gabriel. But I am aware that Karma is real."

After saying that, Micaela just turned around to leave. She didn't want to argue with him.

Micaela couldn't understand herself as well. She hated Selene's family and Renz's family but here she was feeling sad for Selene.

She was not supposed to feel this. But she couldn't help it. She met Grandma Elysa several times and she could tell that she was a good and loving grandmother to Selene.

She was jealous of Selene. Despite the fact she was an orphan, she still had her grandmother by her side. She had witnessed how the two of them loved each other so much.

Micaela could imagine the pain Selene was going through right now. They got what they wanted. The wedding ceremony was stopped but Micaela couldn't rejoice completely because of Grandma Elysa's death.

Once in her life, she truly cared about Grandma Elysa.

'I am really weird. Now I understand why he often told me not to be affected by petty emotions if I really want to avenge my parents," Micaela mumbled to herself while shaking her head.

Eros took a deep breath to calm himself down. He was glad that Micaela already left.

Meanwhile, inside the ward, Selene finally regained her consciousness. Renz was sitting beside her sickbed, holding her hand.

The moment she opened her eyes, the first thing she wanted to do was to see her grandmother. She knew that she was in the hospital after observing her surroundings.

"Selene, are you alright?" Renz stood up after seeing her awake.

Selene sat up and was about to get off her sick bed when Renz held her shoulders.

"Selene, you are still weak. Stay here."

"Where is my grandma? Is she admitted here? I want to see her. Please bring me to my grandma," Selene said with a hopeful look in her eyes.

Renz fell silent. He knew Selene didn't want to accept the truth that Grandma Elysa was already gone.

"Tell me what room number? I'm gonna go to her," Selene asked him again before removing the IV drip in her arm.

Renz heaved a deep sigh. "Selene, listen to me. Grandma Elysa… she is gone."

Selene shook her head frantically. "No! It's not her time yet! She is not supposed to die yet!"

Selene covered her ears. She didn't want to hear Renz. Selene was still thinking that it was impossible for Grandma Elysa to die. In her previous life, Grandma Elysa would die two months from now, not today.

"No! No! This can't be happening! You are lying! My grandma will not die today!"

Renz wanted to hug Selene to comfort her but she pushed him away.

"Don't touch me! Don't come near me! Leave me alone, Renz! Just leave me alone! You are a liar!" Selene started screaming, taking out all her negative emotions on Renz.

"Selene, please calm down. I'm not gonna leave you. I'm gonna stay here with you!" Renz insisted, still hugging Selene.

"No! Leave me alone, Renz! I don't want you here!" Selene was pushing him, struggling from his arms.

She still hated Renz. She didn't want to be comforted by him.

Eros, who heard Selene's scream from the outside, decided to enter her room. He saw Selene crying while struggling in Renz's arms. She was pushing him away.

Eros walked over to approach them. He held Renz's shoulder upon reaching the bed.

"Renz, don't trigger her further. Leave her now. Please listen to her. She didn't want you here." Eros told Renz firmly.

Renz realized his mistake. His heart was in pain seeing Selene like this. What hurt him most was that Selene was pushing him away, instead of letting him comfort her.

Though he was reluctant to leave, Renz had no choice but to do what Selene wanted. He clenched his fists and stood up, his eyes burned with tears.

That was the moment Selene noticed Eros's presence. Not minding the hurt look on Renz's face, Selene pounced on Eros, hugging him tightly.

"Gab… my grandmother… my grandmother… I want to see her! I need to see her." Selene cried in his arms.

Eros hugged her, rubbing her back to comfort her. "Alright, you have to calm down first, Selene. I will bring you to her."
