"Eros!"

Selene suddenly woke up. Her heart was pounding so hard. She didn't know why but she had a bad feeling that something happened to Eros.

Renz was still sound asleep next to her. She decided to get up from the bed and looked for Eros. She hadn't seen him for a whole day.

'Eros, where are you?' Selene felt uneasy.

'He is supposed to stick with me all the time. But he is nowhere,' Selene lamented to herself.

Selene continued roaming around the resort but she didn't see any sign of Eros. She was about to return to her room when she remembered someone.

For some unknown reason, Selene wanted to see Gabriel. After a while, she just found herself walking towards his room.

She was about to knock when suddenly she heard someone talking from the inside.

"That voice… it's Azrael's voice. They are still awake."

Selene had decided to listen to their conversation. She was curious if they were talking about their fake relationship as a couple.

~ A few minutes ago… ~

Azrael failed to catch the dark soul. Worried about Eros, he came back right away to help Eros. He was badly wounded. Being hit by a dark spear could affect him so much.

Azrael felt alarmed seeing the unconscious Eros, leaning on the trunk of the big tree.

"Eros, Eros! Wake up…!" Azrael tried to tap Eros's shoulder.

He was not waking up. Azrael checked his wound. The dark spear left a burning mark on his abdomen. It was still fresh. It was sucking his magical force.

"Argh! I failed to catch the escaped soul. Aside from that, we were not able to retrieve the dark spear. He can control the dark spear. After hitting Eros, the dark spear went back to its owner!"

The dark spear was like a poison to Eros's body. Eros was weakened right now. But he could heal himself.

Azrael placed his palm over Eros's wound, trying to remove the dark aura that was inside his system. This dark aura was the one responsible for weakening Eros. It was sucking his magical force.

"This dark spear is a troublesome weapon!" Azrael said as he continued removing the dark aura.

After a few minutes, Azrael succeeded. He sat down next to Eros. His forehead was glistening with his sweat.

"You scared me to death, Eros!" Azrael mumbled with relief.

Eros slowly opened his eyes. He regained consciousness. But he was still weak.

"Bring me back to the resort…" Eros said with his weak voice.

"I want to see Selene."

Azrael just looked at him helplessly before nodding his head. He supported Eros to stand up.

After a few seconds, Azrael brought Eros inside Selene's room. Then they saw Selene and Renz sleeping together in one bed.

Azrael didn't say a word. He just waited for Eros to speak up. He couldn't explain but it seemed that he saw a gleam of sadness in Eros's blue eyes when he saw Selene and Renz together.

"Bring me to my room..." Eros said to him with his sad voice.

Azrael could only nod his head before bringing Eros back to his room.

Eros and Azrael were now talking inside, unaware that Selene was just outside, listening to their conversation.

"Eros, you have to go back to the Angel's Agape Realm to treat your wound first!" Azrael suggested to Eros.

He was trying to convince him ever since they arrived in Eros's room but Eros was stubborn.

"No! I said no! That's final," Eros said firmly.

Azrael was losing his patience.

"You need to heal your wound! You can leave Selene and abandon your mission. Ask your Mother Angel Sienna for a substitute cupid!"

"No way! I will finish my mission. I am Selene's cupid! I will not allow other cupids to take my job!"

There was a rule that once a cupid got hurt and was not fit to continue his mission, the mother angel could assign another cupid that would replace the other cupid.

But Eros didn't want that to happen. If he did that he would no longer see Selene. He would be forgotten by Selene. He would never ask for a substitute cupid! No way!

"Why are you being stubborn, Eros? I think Selene and Renz are already falling in love with each other. You don't have to worry about your mission anymore!"

"Your safety and health are at stake, Eros! The wound caused by the dark spear is not healing. Your healing power is not working!"

Azrael was worried about Eros, that's why he was insisting on him to go back and treat his wound in Angel's realm.

But Eros didn't want mother angel Sienna to know about his wound or else she would assign another cupid to help Selene.

"Azrael, I'm just fine. Just mind your own business. Focus on your mission. Go back and find the dark soul now!"

Eros was also losing his patience. He didn't want to argue further regarding this. His decision was final. He would not go back to Angel's Agape Realm just to treat his wound.

"This is my business! I felt responsible for this. This is my fault. If something bad happens to you, I will never forgive myself!"

Eros massaged his temples. He was grateful that Azrael was concerned about his well-being. Indeed, he was a true friend.

But he didn't know the reason why Eros was being stubborn right now. He couldn't understand his feelings.

Selene was not just an ordinary human contractee. She was so special to him. As much as possible, Eros didn't want to be separated from her yet.

He still wanted to stay longer with Selene. No, not stay longer… but he was thinking of sticking with her forever. But he knew it was just wishful thinking.

Sooner or later, he had to leave Selene. And she would eventually forget him.

"No, I want to stay here with Selene. I will not leave her." Eros declared with so much conviction in his words.

Azrael was about to reason out when suddenly they heard the sound of the opening door.

When they looked at the door, they were shocked to see Selene.
