The moment Eros touched Selene's body, he felt right away that her temperature was high. She was definitely having a fever.

This was the result of staying up all night for several days now, along with the busy schedules of her wedding preparation.

He could see her tired expression as her face was grey with fatigue. She overworked herself for the past few days.

"Oh, Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I just suddenly feel dizzy. This will disappear once I take medicine," Selene reassured Eros.

Eros became hesitant to leave Selene. "Let's go back inside. No need to send me off. What if you suddenly collapse when you go back inside? Come, let me accompany you back to the house."

Eros grabbed Selene's shoulders as he turned her around, guiding her back inside the house.

"Hey, I said I'm alright. Go home now," Selene insisted.

Eros narrowed his eyes when he heard that. Selene and Eros stopped in their tracks. Without saying anything, Eros suddenly carried Selene, one arm under her legs and the other supporting her back like a groom carrying his bride.

Selene gasped in surprise because of his sudden actions.

"Hey, Gab! What are you doing? Put me down!" Selene started struggling in his arms, hitting his chest. She couldn't believe that he would do this to her.

"Stay still, or else, you might fall. I'm just making sure that you are not going to faint while walking back to the house. How can you walk straight if you are feeling dizzy?"

"The night breeze will also make you cold. You are already having a fever. You are not allowed to stay longer outside. I will just put you down once we are inside the house."

Eros just ignored her complaints. Selene's face reddened in embarrassment. She thought it was improper for another man to carry her like this.

But she had to admit that Eros aka Gabriel had a point. She also felt dizzy as if the world was spinning. She couldn't walk straight. So in the end, Selene just behaved in Eros's arms.

When they reached the front door, Selene thought Eros would put her down but he didn't.

"Hey, you can put me down. We are already inside the house."

Eros just ignored Selene's words once again. He continued carrying her as he climbed the stairs going to her room.

"Where are you sleeping tonight? You are sick right now. I don't think it's a good idea to sleep with your grandma."

Selene nodded her head, agreeing with Eros. Her grandmother might get the flu from her if she would sleep with her. She didn't want that to happen.

Aside from that, she didn't want her grandmother to worry about her once she learned that she got sick.

"To my room please," she meekly said, answering Eros's question.

Eros just gave her a faint smile before nodding his head. Soon, they entered her bedroom. Eros smelled Selene's sweet scent around the room.

It was a typical room for a girl where he could see lots of things having white and pink colors. This was his temporary room whenever he was in his cupid form.

He felt comfortable sleeping in her bed as her scent lingered on his nose whenever he would stay in that room. He loved it since it soothed his heart.

After a while, Eros finally put her down.

"Thanks, Gab. You can now go home. It is very late now," Selene said, looking at him worriedly.

"I'll be fine. Tell me where's the medicine kit. I will get it for you."

Selene was overwhelmed by Eros's thoughtfulness and very caring behavior. She already felt grateful to him because of so many things. Now, he wanted to take care of her since she was sick.

Selene told Eros where she kept the medicine kit. Eros went out of her room to get the medicine for fever and a glass of water in the kitchen.

When he came back, Selene had already changed into her pajamas. She just forced herself to move. She could already feel the discomfort brought by her fever.

Her head was aching and throbbing. She tried to ease her discomfort by rubbing her temples.

"Here, take this," Eros said, handing a pill over to her. Selene took it and drank water.

"Sleep now," Eros softly commanded her.

"Are you going home now?" Selene asked him as she lay down on her bed.

"I will… After making sure that you are feeling better."

Selene didn't know what he meant by that. 'Does he intend to stay here?'

After a while, Selene sighed deeply. "I'm worried about grandma. I want to monitor her tonight. What if she suddenly feels any discomfort, how can I help her?"

"Don't think about that. Just take a rest and recover so that you can take care of your grandma. You can't do that if you are sick." Eros slightly scolded her.

"I will stay here and watch over you both. Since I will be her nurse, why not become her nurse and your nurse tonight! You can't say no! Even if you refuse, I will still do this," Eros declared to her, not allowing Selene to oppose or refuse him.

Selene just blinked her eyes several times, looking at him with amusement. He was the first person she knew who would do what he wanted without asking permission from the person concerned.

Selene just sighed in defeat. "Alright. I will not oppose you this time since I am also worried about my grandma. Can you take care of her on my behalf?"

"Of course, I will. I will take care of her… and you. No need to ask me that," Eros said while looking at her intently.

Selene nodded her head. Her eyelids were becoming heavy. It seemed that the medicine was already taking effect. She felt sleepy.

She was at ease now knowing that Gabriel would be there to look after her grandmother.

"You can use the guest room. You can sleep there tonight. I already asked Aunt Ling yesterday to prepare the guest room for you. It will be your room next week once you start your work as my grandmother's private nurse."

Eros only smiled at her. He was excited to live in the mansion as Gabriel. Because of that, he was motivated to do his job in protecting Samantha.

Once the case was solved then he could stay with Selene and Grandma Elysa here at Anderson Family Mansion.

Eros decided to put the glass in the kitchen. But before he left, he heard Selene murmuring something. Her eyes were already closed.

"I miss my angel. I wonder where Eros is right now…" Selene hugged her soft pillow tight as she mumbled those words.

Eros couldn't help but smile tenderly. Selene was still thinking of him even before going to sleep. He glanced at Selene one last time.

'I'm just here, Selene. I am always here with you.'

Eros checked Grandma Elysa in her room. She was sound asleep. He sat down on the edge of her bed. Eros felt glad that he couldn't see any grim reapers visiting Grandma Elysa. It only meant that her time was not yet up.

Eros put his palm just above grandma's forehead. Seconds later, his palm was surrounded by a golden ray of lights.

Eros was always doing this every night, transferring some of his magical energy to her so that she wouldn't feel any discomfort or pain from her illness.

Though he couldn't heal her, this action was a great help to Grandma Elysa. She wouldn't suffer any kind of pain.

When Eros was done visiting Grandma Elysa, he returned to Selene's room. Selene already drifted off to sleep. She hadn't slept enough for the past few days. Her body was craving for sleep.

Eros sat down beside her sleeping figure. He pressed his hand over her forehead. Her temperature slightly cooled down.

He also did the same thing, transferring some of his magical energy to her to remove the discomfort brought by her fever. He hoped that Selene would feel better tomorrow.

While he was doing that, Eros couldn't take his eyes off her. His scorching gaze lingered on Selene's lovely face. She looked beautiful even in her sleep.

Eros felt the urge to kiss her lips once again. He missed the feeling of her soft lips touching his. He was not supposed to have this kind of thought but he couldn't help it.

Selene was like a magnet. She was pulling and attracting him closer and closer to her without doing anything.

Then Eros remembered that Selene's wedding drew near. Selene would become Renz's wife just three weeks from now. He suddenly felt a sting deep inside his heart.

'Why am I sad again? I should feel happy for you. But I can't,' Eros felt confused about his feelings.

Unknowingly, Eros started moving his face closer to hers. His eyes were fixed on Selene's soft lips.
