After those four rounds, they stopped the game. Samantha was not in the mood anymore. Though Selene said it was just fine to her, she knew that she was greatly affected by Meghan's words.

Samantha was aware that Meghan did that intentionally. It was her who suggested the game. From the beginning, she just wanted to provoke Selene because she hated her.

Samantha confronted Meghan privately.

"What is that all about? Why did you do it? Are you trying to stir a conflict between the two?"

Meghan just rolled her eyes at Samantha. Because of her interference, her plan got ruined.

"Why do you care, Samantha? This is the only first time you meet that woman. Why are you siding with her, instead of me? Who is your friend? Me or Selene?" Meghan spat back at her.

Samantha heaved a deep sigh."Don't act like a b*tch, Meghan. Selene is a good person. Why don't you give her a chance, rather than hating her for no reason?"

"Samantha, you know what? I don't want to argue with you just because of that woman. I already apologized to her. Are you happy? She said it's fine. Why are you making a fuss until now?"

After saying that, Meghan just walked out, leaving Samantha in her spot. Meghan joined the other guests who were still dancing on the dance floor.

Samantha could only sigh helplessly. "I feel bad for Selene," she mumbled to herself.

Meanwhile, Selene was the only one left at their table. Noel and Declan mingled with the other socialites. Renz and Arthur hadn't returned yet.

Fortunately, Eros was with her right now.

"Hey, Selene, are you really okay about what happened a while ago?"

Selene picked up her phone. Since she couldn't talk to Eros she would just type her message on her phone.

[ Yes, I'm fine. At least, it's not Micaela who kissed Renz first. We are now even. ]

Selene tried her best to look okay even though she was not. She just concealed her negative emotions because she didn't want to ruin this night.

Renz and Selene had a great start. He was very attentive to her during the dinner. She was able to dance with him again after a long time.

Selene wanted to focus on the positive sides. She was already happy and satisfied with those simple moments.

She got closer to Samantha. She really appreciated what Samantha had done for her. She even argued with Meghan for her sake.

"Okay. But you don't have to force yourself to mingle with Meghan. I don't think she is willing to befriend you. Samantha is the only sincere one among them."

Selene typed her message again.

[ Yes. That's why we should save her. I think she can be one of my few friends. I like her. ]

This reminded Eros about Samantha's incident. He decided to ask Selene while they were waiting for Renz to come back.

"Regarding Samantha, What did you remember in her past life? How did she die?"

Selene was saddened as she recalled what happened to Samantha.

[ She was strangled to death by the murderer. No one caught him. He was still at large even before I died. ]

[ Samantha's lifeless body was found in the Orion Empire Hotel. No clue about the suspect except a witness who saw Samantha entering the hotel together with a man with a dragon tattoo. ]

[ That's the only thing I could remember since I was busy taking care of grandma. That was also the time her illness got worse and she was diagnosed that she had stage 4 cancer. ]

Eros paused for a moment. He was thinking of a possible solution for this. He couldn't back out now. He already promised Selene that she would help her.

'Should I consult Azrael about this?'

Eros shook his head right away, disregarding his first thought. If Azrael would learn about their plan of saving Samantha, Azrael would kill him first.

Eros was not supposed to interfere with the grim reaper's job. It would mess things up.

Just thinking about it, Eros could already imagine Azrael's beast mode.

"Alright. I think we should just accompany Samantha on that day and prevent her from coming to the Orion Empire Hotel." Eros shared his idea with Selene.

Selene just nodded her head in agreement. Then Eros had spoken again.

"Second, we should warn her to be careful around men who have a dragon tattoo. We can also ask her if she knows someone who has a dragon tattoo."

Selene's face brightened up after hearing that. Eros's suggestion was very nice.

[ I like that. What a bright idea, my angel! You are the best! ]

Selene praised Eros while patting his head.

Eros and Selene were still talking about Samantha when from a distance, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.

Eros's eyes grew wide as he recognized the figure.

'Eh? Is that Azrael? What is he doing here? Don't tell me he is the grim reaper assigned to guide Samantha's soul in the Netherworld.'

As usual, Azrael was wearing all black. He was in the middle of the dance floor, peering at his surroundings as if he was looking for someone.

Azrael hadn't seen Eros yet but Eros saw him already. Just like Eros, Azrael was invisible to the human's naked eyes. Only Eros could see him right now.

He glanced at Selene, wondering if she could still see Azrael, just like how she saw him on the football field.

'Ah, Selene should not see him. She might recognize Azrael. She has a sharp memory so there's a possibility she could remember that Azrael was the one she saw in the football field, together with me when I was in my adult form.'

Meanwhile, Selene had noticed that Eros was observing someone. She was about to turn and follow Eros's line of sight when Eros immediately cupped her face, not allowing her to move her head.

"Selene, why don't you try looking for Renz? I heard he was outside the hall right now."

Selene just nodded her head. She wondered where he is now.

"Okay. I'll find him first. See you later, Eros!"

Eros felt relieved when Selene already left.

"Hmm. I think I should greet my friend and ask him what he's doing here." Eros mumbled before approaching Azrael.
