Eros heard everything Arthur and his friends had talked about Selene. He couldn't understand why they hated her that much.

She didn't do anything wrong to offend them. It's just that, Selene didn't know how to mingle with them.

She was not even asking Renz to avoid his friends. It was Renz's own decision if sometimes he couldn't join them during their hang-out routine.

They were unfair for putting all the blame on Selene.

With regards to Selene's childish attitude that they were saying, they just couldn't understand her for trying her best to get closer to Renz.

Unlike them, Selene already lost her beloved parents at her young age. Since then, she built a barrier, avoiding others.

But Renz was the only friend she had at that time. Aside from her grandma, Renz became her shoulders to cry on.

She developed a strong attachment to him because of that. As they grew, Selene started to rely more on Renz especially after knowing that he would be her future husband.

She had done things to get his attention because she was yearning for a man's attention that she would no longer receive from her late father and late grandfathers.

Aside from that, she was the only child. She didn't have siblings, especially a brother. And Renz was the first person who let her feel a brother's love and care.

Renz's friends would never understand Selene as long as they wouldn't try putting themselves in her shoes. They didn't experience the pain of losing their loved ones at a very young age.

They judged her immediately according to the things their eyes could see, not even making an effort to know her.

For them, she was just a great nuisance for their friend, Renz. An annoying girl who always wanted to cling to Renz.

Eros had the urge to beat someone tonight. Fortunately, he was an angel… an angel of love in particular.

An angel was not supposed to hurt the humans. So Eros could only clasp his hands tightly while looking daggers at Renz's friends who were looking down on Selene.

'Argh! I feel like I'm going to explode at any moment. Selene wants to befriend them. Sigh! If I was Selene, I would never bother getting closer to these kinds of people.'

Eros could feel the rage inside his heart. He was not supposed to feel this negative emotion but he couldn't help it.

"They are conceited fellows! Thinking so highly of themselves. Are they thinking that they are a better person than Selene? Well! They are so wrong about that!" Eros mumbled to himself through his gritted teeth.

"I can't wait to see your reaction once you see Selene tonight. The girl you are calling 'childish girl' turns out to be a fine beautiful lady! She's beautiful inside and outside!" Eros uttered a little bit louder but no one could hear him.

Renz's friend continued talking about Selene and Renz.

"But I heard that Ren's fiancee stopped visiting his office lately. Did Renz talk to her and confronted her about that? So finally she stopped bothering him every day." Meghan asked the group.

Noel and Declan just shrugged their shoulders because they had no idea. After that, they turned to Arthur. He was the one who was always updated about Renz's life.

"Why are you giving me that look? I have no idea either! But I'm sure that Renz didn't confront her. He should have done that sooner. Anyway, don't bother knowing the reason why, as long as she stopped doing that the better it will be for our dearest friend." Arthur said to them nonchalantly.

Others just bobbed their head, agreeing to Arthur's last remarks.

"Alright! Let's talk about other stuff. Talking about Renz and his fiancee behind their backs is not good," Samantha said, changing the topic.

Samantha knew that sometimes Renz was put in a difficult situation wherein he had to balance things between his friends and his fiancee. Arthur and others didn't hide their displeasure toward Selene. Renz was aware of that.

That was also the reason why Renz chose not to invite Selene whenever he and his friends would meet and gather. Because of that, Arthur and others misunderstood it further, thinking Selene didn't want to mingle with them.

The party would start at exactly 8 o'clock in the evening. The host was now preparing on the stage, checking the microphone. There were invited famous bands and singers, performing right now to entertain the guests while waiting for the announcement.

"Hey, can you message Renz? Ask him where they are now. Don't tell me that girl is the reason he is late again," Arthur said to Declan, looking annoyed and irritated.

"Calm down, Bro! It's your Birthday! Why are you being grumpy? You should enjoy and have fun." Noel patted Arthur's back the moment he saw the irritation on his face.

"Oh, I got his message. Renz and Selene already arrived here at the hotel. I think they are coming in at the entrance," Declan informed them after receiving a reply from Renz.

The five of them reflexively averted their gaze at the entrance door of the hall, searching for Renz and Selene.

That was the time two figures with matching white clothes, one wearing a white tuxedo and the other one wearing a white dress, entered the hall.

It did not take long when the two people who had just entered the hall caught the attention of everyone.

Others gasped and started murmuring to each other upon seeing the two beautiful people walking side by side with their entangled hands.

"Whoah, is that Renz Chou? The CEO of the Star Corp. Oh my gosh, he is so handsome!"

"Yes, definitely! He is indeed Renz Chuo. But who is this lovely lady beside him? Is that his rumored fiancee?"

"Oh my gosh! She is a goddess…"

"Not only a goddess, but she also looks like an angel to me. Her white dress suits her very well!"

"I couldn't believe this… this is the first time I saw this girl. I think she's the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life so far!"
