Eros decided not to tag along with Selene and Renz in his car. He gave them privacy. Now, it's all up to Selene how she would interact with Renz and get his attention.

He teleported to the hotel where the party was being held right now. He would just do some spying with Renz's friends while waiting for Selene and Renz to arrive.

Meanwhile, Selene and Renz were now on the way to the hotel. It would only take 15 minutes to arrive but because of the traffic jam, they were delayed by another twenty minutes.

Since they were stuck in the traffic, the two of them got the chance to talk, a simple catching up for them.

"I heard you already learned driving so you chose to return home after class than staying at a dormitory." Renz started a conversation with Selene.

He wanted to make her feel relaxed. He somehow felt that Selene was a little bit anxious and nervous since this was the first time she was attending a party together with his friends.

"Isn't it tiring? Driving back and forth every day? The traffic jam every peak hours might give you a lot of stress and headache too" Renz added, feeling concerned about her.

Selene glanced at Renz whose focus was on the road. "Yes, too tiring sometimes but, it's fine. The most important thing is I can be with my grandma, every day. Every moment with her is precious to me. I want to spend more time with her."

Renz's lips stretched into a faint smile. "Is that also the reason why you stopped visiting me in the company?"

Renz was dying to know and ask her why she suddenly stopped coming to his office. He was glad he finally brought it up now.

Selene was caught off guard by his direct question. She didn't expect that Renz would mention that.

Renz moved his gaze from the road to Selene. He was waiting for her response. The moment their eyes met, Renz could see different emotions in her eyes but he couldn't figure out what she was thinking.

After a few seconds, Selene nodded her head. "Yes, that's one of the reasons."

'The second reason is that… for you to miss me, according to my cupid,' Selene thought to herself.

Renz frowned after hearing that. "If that is one of the reasons then what are the other reasons?"

Selene smiled at him meaningfully before answering. "Hmm, I just realized that I was giving you so much hassle every time I visited you. I shouldn't have done that. I didn't consider your feelings."

"Did I annoy you that much for seeing you every day, making your office my hang-out place?"

Now, it was Renz's turn to be caught off guard by Selene's direct question. He immediately stopped the car to face Selene.

He stared at her face for several seconds before he spoke up, giving her an answer.

"You want an honest answer?"

Selene bobbed her head frantically. She was nervous but she wanted to hear it from him whether she annoyed him that much or not.

Renz's lips curled up into a smile after noticing her anxious expression.

"You didn't annoy me, Selene. It's just that, you don't have to come every day. My employees misunderstood your stay in my office every afternoon. They thought we were doing something kinky inside."

Selene: "..."

Renz chuckled after telling that to her. He was just being honest with her and at the same time, he wanted to tease her.

~ De La Sierra Hotel ~

Everything was all set for Arthur's Birthday Party. They were just waiting for the other guests to arrive. The venue was the biggest hall of De La Sierra Hotel, one of the top hotels in the City of Sierra.

People dressed in various luxurious outfits and fancy clothes were coming in at the entrance of the hall. The dress code was formal attire for both men and women.

Men were looking gorgeous with their suits and tuxedos. On the other hand, the women were looking stunning with their short and long gowns and dresses.

The ladies were attracting gentlemen's attention with their sexy dresses as if they were attending a fashion show.

But do you know what was the most unique part of this party?

Only 19- 30 years old single ladies and bachelors were invited to attend the party. That's how Arthur, the spoiled heir of the Fabella Empire, wanted to celebrate his birthday. He was a partygoer.

Arthur would have another birthday celebration with his family and other family friends. But for now, this Birthday Party was only exclusive to the single ladies and bachelor socialites in the City of Sierra who were close to the Fabella Family and those who had high social standing in the society living outside the City of Sierra.

There were five people who belonged to Renz's closest circle of friends. They were Arthur, Noel, Declan, Meghan, and Samantha. Everyone was already in the hotel except Renz.

Renz's closest friends were gathered at one table while waiting for the party to start.

"Hey, where is Renz? I haven't seen him since I arrived here. Is he not coming tonight?" Declan asked his friends who were enjoying their wines.

"Oh right. Don't tell me he was not coming again because of his fiancée, Selene," Meghan said, arching her perfect-shaped eyebrow. Aside from Arthur, Meghan also hated Selene as Renz's fiancé.

In fact, not only Meghan and Arthur, all of them had a bad impression of Selene, except for one girl. It's Samantha. She was neutral. She didn't hate Selene but she didn't like her too.

It's just that she didn't want to make a judgment yet since she didn't have the chance to know Selene. Samantha wanted to know Selene first before she could tell whether she likes her or not.

"It looks like Renz loves his fiancée more than he loves his best friend, Arthur!" Noel commented, teasing Arthur.

Arthur shot Noel a cold sharp glare. "Love her my ass! For your information, Renz doesn't love his fiancée. He is just fulfilling his obligation and following the agreement between the Chou Family and the Anderson Family."

"And you know what? Renz is definitely coming tonight together with his childish fiancé!" Arthur informed his friends. He couldn't hide the displeasure on his face.

Noel: "What?"

Meghan: "She's coming?! For what?"

Declan: "Wow, finally! She is gonna join us tonight!"

Samantha: "Oh, I'm so excited to meet her!"

Arthur's news gained different reactions from his friends- shock, annoyance, and excitement.

Meanwhile, Arthur's face contorted at the thought of Selene coming tonight.

"Well, let's see. I hope she will not spoil this party for Renz. I pity my best friend for that! I have a feeling that she will just ruin this. Damn, even my mood already got ruined just thinking about her." Arthur lamented to them.

'I will make sure that Selene will never forget this party,' Arthur thought to himself while smiling wickedly.
