Since Micaela wanted to come with Selene, instead of going home after her afternoon class, Selene had decided to delay the trip since Micaela still had a night class. The two of them would just travel tomorrow morning.

Eros and Selene returned to her Dormitory room after buying dinner in the University Cafeteria. Eros joined him as Selene requested him to eat.

Though he was a heavenly being, there's nothing wrong if he would taste human food and eat them. Selene was very attentive to him as if she was taking care of her little brother.

Eros didn't know whether to feel glad or not. Selene was spoiling him but at the same time, treating him like a child. Among all his human contractees in the past, only Selene acted like this towards him.

"Eat more so that you can gain more weight! It will be nice to pinch your fluffy cheeks," Selene said while grinning cheerfully. She was urging Eros to eat more as she put more food on his plate.

Eros's jaw dropped as he watched the bountiful amount of food on his plate. He glanced at Selene with disbelief.

"Are you trying to kill me by overeating?" Eros asked Selene exasperatedly.

But Selene just smiled at him sweetly while patting his head. "Of course not! You are not allowed to die. You still have a mission to accomplish." Selene teased him.

Though Eros was frowning, he still ate all the food Selene had put on his plate. He looked annoyed but he was very obedient to her.

After finishing their meal, Selene even taught Eros to wash the dishes. Eros looked like a child obeying every word of his elder sister.

'I never thought that I would ever wash dishes during my mission!' Eros lamented to himself. He just couldn't say no to Selene. Besides, he also enjoyed the food tonight!

When they were done cleaning and arranging Selene's mini-kitchen, Eros and Selene sat down on her bed, side by side to rest.

Eros found the opportunity to talk about Micaela.

"Are you sure about this? Why did you allow Micaela to come home with you this weekend?" Eros asked Selene curiously.

Selene heaved a deep sigh. "In my previous life, Micaela is the only friend that I brought home to meet my grandma."

"My grandma was so happy. She was used to seeing me alone during my grade school years. But after meeting Micaela, my grandma became more at ease since I finally found a best friend with whom I could share my troubles and spend my time."

Selene's lips stretched into a faint smile as she reminisced about the past. To think about it, Micaela became a good friend to her as if she had found an instant sister.

Now she didn't know what to feel. She didn't want to think that their wonderful friendship was just fake.

"What's wrong?" Eros asked her after seeing the gloomy expression of Selene.

"Honestly, I still couldn't believe that Micaela had something to do with the kidnapping incident. Furthermore, I couldn't accept that she hid the truth from me. If she truly loved Renz then she should have told me earlier."

"Both of them left me in the dark for so many years. Renz just told me the truth when our marriage was about to happen."

Selene lowered her gaze, clenching her fists. She was fighting the urge to cry right now. She was betrayed by her best friend and by her beloved fiancee.

Eros moved closer to her. He placed his little hand on her shoulder, gently patting her.

"I could understand your pain. The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies… but to someone very close to you… someone whom you trusted most."

Eros wanted to console Selene and ease the pain in her heart right now. But he didn't know the right words to say just to comfort her.

Selene raised her head and smiled bitterly. She agreed with Eros's statement. She wanted to stay strong. She would never waste this second chance.

Eros breathed deeply and said, "People said it's better to have an enemy who honestly says they hate you than to have a friend who's putting you down secretly. You should be careful with Micaela. We never know when she will stab you at the back."

Eros warned Selene because he could see that Selene was still in denial. Part of her still wanted to believe that Micaela was her true friend who just suddenly fell in love with her fiancee.

Selene nodded her head in agreement.

"I know. That's why I'm going to unfold the truth. I will try to know her more or what's her true motive in getting closer to me and Renz. I will not ignore or even avoid Micaela. That's one of the reasons I allowed her to come with me."

Eros couldn't help but smile at Selene. It seemed that she was applying the famous quote 'Keep your friend close and hold your enemy closer.'

'What a clever girl! I like that. I'm so proud of you, Selene,' Eros thought to himself, praising Selene.

"What you are doing is right! Pay more attention to what she will do. Her action will show you the truth! Don't worry! I'm just here to support you." Eros reassured Selene.

Selene let out a soft giggle before reaching out to hug Eros. Eros was caught off guard when Selene suddenly pulled him into a warm hug.

"Aww, my cupid is really sweet! I'm so glad that I have you!"

Eros could no longer respond since he was already trapped in her soft arms. His mind was wandering somewhere else.

He could no longer pay attention to Selene's words since his senses were already clouded by her warmth, her softness, and her sweet scents.

'Selene... Why are you so clingy? WHY?'

Eros didn't know whether to stay still or try to escape. After a few seconds of contemplating, in the end, he just closed his eyes and hugged her back.
