Renz was still in his office, expecting Selene to arrive. As part of her daily routine, Selene should be at his office by this hour. But to his surprise, there's no sign of Selene.

"Sir, are you not going home yet? Should I cancel the table reservation? It looks like Lady Selene is not coming today." Renz's assistant asked him after checking his boss. He was preparing to leave the office already.

Renz who was immersed in his thoughts gazed up to look at his assistant. Renz contemplated for a moment. He had mixed emotions right now. Then he averted his gaze back to his laptop.

He didn't expect that Selene would miss coming to his office today. That was really a surprise for him. However, he didn't know if he was glad about it or not. He hadn't given him his answer yet when his assistant had spoken once again.

"Sir, do you think something bad happened to Lady Selene? Maybe she's sick, that's why she can't come here?"

Renz's fingers stopped mid-air when he heard that. He was still working on his laptop and encoding some data in his report when his assistant said those words.

His eyebrows were drawn together into a slight frown. Renz was aware that Selene was staying in the girl's dormitory of her university. As far as he could remember she had no roommate. So if ever Selene would get sick then no one would know or even take care of her.

Renz immediately shut down his laptop and stood up, grabbing his bag and his coat. His assistant just watched him in confusion. Renz traced his steps going out of his office then halted upon reaching his door.

"Just cancel the reservation. I will just buy food and bring them to her in her dormitory." After saying that, Renz left his office.

"Hmm, He cares for her. He just doesn't want to admit it," His assistant mumbled with a faint smile on his face. He was looking in the direction where Renz vanished from his sight.

Little did he know, Renz was not yet at the level of caring for Selene in a romantic way. He was kind to Selene as part of his obligation for being her fiancee. Aside from that, they were childhood friends and he considered her as his younger sister.

Twenty minutes later, Renz's car parked in the area near the soccer field inside the De La Carmel University. He just bought food in a Fastfood Drive-Thru to be faster.

He stepped out of the car holding the paper bag which contained food and drinks. He was visiting Selene once a month in her dormitory so Renz was already familiar with the place.

It did not take long when Renz was already standing at the doorstep of Selene's room. Renz knocked on the door and waited for Selene to answer.

Meanwhile, Selene was just about to go out to buy dinner for tonight when she heard someone knocking on the door. She wondered who would visit her at this hour.

"Hmm, Maybe one of my classmates. But I don't think we have a study group tonight." Selene mumbled to herself, walking towards the door to open it and see the person outside.

Eros just remained in his spot, floating in the air, watching Selene move across the room. The moment she opened the door Renz's handsome face greeted her sight.

Selene was dumbfounded for a moment. She froze in her spot, her eyes roaming at Renz's face who looked 5 years younger than the Renz she last saw before she died.

The memories of her last moment with Renz flashed in her mind. She couldn't explain what she was feeling right now. She didn't know if she was happy or sad.

But one thing was for sure… she was grateful to see Renz once again. Though he didn't love her as a woman, she knew that Renz truly cared for her as his childhood friend and as his sister.

She even felt touched and overjoyed when she saw Renz crying and weeping for her in her last moments. At least she knew that Renz would also be sad once she was gone.

Renz, on the other hand, felt puzzled by the reaction Selene was giving him right now. He was used to seeing her bubbly personality while greeting him with her charming smile.

But now, she was just standing there with an indescribable expression on her face. Renz frowned, reflexively putting his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

"What's wrong? Are you sick?" He asked her inquisitively with concern in his voice.

Selene snapped out of her daze when she felt Renz's cold hand pressing on her forehead. She didn't know why but she had the urge to cry now. Her eyes became misty instantly.

To think about it, she sacrificed herself for this man. She was willing to let go for his own happiness. She stepped down so that Renz and Micaela would be together.

However, she changed her mind after knowing the truth that Micaela had something to do with the kidnapping incident. It felt like she just wasted her precious life for someone who didn't deserve it.

That was the revelation Eros had told her in the land of the lost souls thus convincing her to return. She couldn't believe it but Eros would not lie to her. She trusted his words.

He didn't tell her the full detail but all he said was that Micaela was the mastermind of that kidnapping incident.

She didn't know her motive by doing that. It did not make sense to her. Why would Micaela order someone to kidnap herself? Selene just got involved since they were together when that incident happened.

She wanted to unfold the truth. She wanted to know why Micaela did that thing, putting herself and Renz in danger? Selene was wondering whether Micaela was just using Renz and that she didn't love him.

After knowing that, she changed her mind. She decided to return and protect Renz against Micaela's scheme. She would uncover the truth and Micaela's motive. That's one of her goals for coming back aside from winning Renz's heart.
